BARRY, Ill. - A.J. Franklin, 75, of Plainville, Ill., died Friday, March 4, 2005, at Barry Community Care Center in Barry, Ill.
No services are planned. Cremation rites will be accorded, with his ashes scattered in Arizona.
Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Franklin was born Aug. 11, 1929, in Globe, Ariz., to Earl Bud and Mable Mae Menges Franklin.
Survivors include four daughters, Retina Kaye Still of Payson, Ill., Myrlene Franklin of Plainville, Ill., Carle Franklin of Hawaii and Merena Franklin of Arizona; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo Franklin, Carl Franklin and Earl Franklin; and one niece, Karen Franklin.
Mr. Franklin served his country in the U.S. Air Force, working as an airplane mechanic.
He worked most of his life as a truck driver in Arizona for a logging company.
Patricia B. Hedges
Hannibal May 21, 1920-March 5, 2005
HANNIBAL - Patricia B. Hedges, 84, of Hannibal, died at 1:57 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, at the Holy Family Church in Hannibal. Father Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, with Rosary at 6:30 p.m.
Mrs. Hedges was born May 21, 1920, in St. Louis to Cornelius and Frances Gallagher Burke.
She was married to Jack Hedges on May 21, 1943, in Hannibal. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, John Hedges and Mark Hedges (Gail), both of Hannibal; four daughters, Mary Michael Dreier (Herb) of Decatur, Ill., Angie Runkles (Joe) of Troy, Kate Campbell (Jim) of Crystal Beach, Texas, and Maggie Forrester (Bill) of Waterliet, Mich.; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and one brother.
Mrs. Hedges attended Holy Family Church. She was a homemaker and also a physical education teacher at McCooey High School for a number of years. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, and playing bridge and rummy. She was a member of CCW, Hannibal Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, AARP and American Red Cross.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Pallbearers will be Dan Hedges, Andy Dreier, Mark Runkles, Jason Forrester, Patrick Hedges and Joe Welch.

ELSBERRY - Alma Gertrude Sitton, 93, of Elsberry, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Elsberry Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. The Rev. Sue Lambert will officiate. Burial will be at Elsberry City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, March 5, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sitton was born July 16, 1911, in Lincoln County, west of Elsberry, to Alexander Parks and Leola Marshall Davis Watts.
She was married to John Allen Sitton on Oct. 10, 1936, in Troy. He preceded her in death Dec. 21, 1987.
Survivors include one brother, Robert Davis Watts of Elsberry; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Watts of Annada; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister-in-law, Francis Watts; one brother-in-law, Henry Bowles; one sister, Maude Elizabeth Bowles; and one brother, Alexander Parks Watts Jr.
Memorials may be made to Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Marion Frances Underwood Gann, 71, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Baytree Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Mrs. Gann was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Cynthia Reese Underwood Ellis and Elmer Underwood.
She was married to Kenneth Perrine of Quincy, Ill., in 1952. She was later married to Garland Gann of New Orleans, La., in 1966. Both preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky and Randy Perrine, both of Quincy; five daughters, Shelley Campbell of North Carolina, Misty Laverty of Michigan, Robbin Wiley of Illinois, Shannon Plunkett of Florida and Tara Gann of Louisiana; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, George E. Ellis Jr. and Ronald L. Ellis; and five sisters, Betty J. Woods, Lurena Knopp, Jody Hughson, Carolyn Clark and Jacklyn Charlton, all of Missouri.

SILEX - Cora Cathryn Meade Teare Sullivan, 84, of St. Charles, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Breezepark Nursing Home in St. Charles.
A memorial funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood.
The Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex is in charge of arrangements.

BOWLING GREEN - Garnet Lee Mudd, 87, of Quincy, Ill., died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, at Kirks Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green. The Rev. Donald Amelung will officiate. Burial will be at Concord Cemetery in rural Curryville.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral chapel.
Mrs. Mudd was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Bowling Green to Louis C. and Virgil May Kelley Grote.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Mary Gregory of Quincy and Patricia Capps and husband, Brian, of Indianapolis, Ind.; one son, Ralph Jacobs of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; five sisters, Edna Kent of Bowling Green, Frances Groovernor of Sarasota, Fla., Laura Vogt of Los Angeles, Calif., Betty Kordus of Oneida, N.Y., and Martha Higgins of St. Louis; and four brothers, William C. Grote of St. Louis, Robert Grote of Bowling Green, Louis Grote Jr. of Centralia and John M. Grote of Omaha, Neb.
Hattie Mae (Helen) Bias

PERRY - Hattie Mae (Helen) Bias, 85, of Perry, passed away at 3:20 a.m. April 1, 2005, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2005, at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Perry, with the Rev. Hal Rogers officiating. Burial will be at Lick Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bias was born May 4, 1919, in Harrisburg to John and Grace Thornhill Bybee.
She was married to Melvin Leon O'Haver on Jan. 22, 1937. He preceded her in death Sept. 20, 1969. She was then married to Jim Bias on June 4, 1970, in Los Angeles, Calif., and he preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1991.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rose O'Haver of Davenport, Iowa; one stepson and step daughter-in-law, William (Steve) and Lurah O'Haver of Kirksville; one brother, Clarence (Deke) Bybee of Ontario, Calif.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mrs. Harold (Maridella) Knight of Escondido, Calif., Martha and Art Luine of Redlands, Calif., and Doris and Winston Mallotte of Armstrong; three grandchildren, Michael and Eric Welchman, both of West Plains, and Danny O'Haver of Davenport, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by one stepson, Melvin Leon O'Haver; one daughter, Bonnie Welchman; two brothers, John Bybee and William Bybee; and one sister, Lena Culp.
Mrs. Bias was raised in this area and she moved back here in the early 1970s. She was a homemaker.
Memorial contributions may be made to Westview Nursing Home in Center.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Wright, Bob Cotton, Danny O'Haver, Jeff O'Haver, Justin O'Haver, Darryl O'Haver and Eugene O'Haver.
