ADAM T. GOFF

Adam Thomas Goff, 18, Blue Springs, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at the Liberty, Mo., Hospital.

Mr. Goff was born May 27, 1980, in Kalamazoo, Mich. He was a 1998 Blue Springs South High School graduate. He was attending the Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, where he was majoring in speech theater education. He was a member of the Colonial Hills RLDS Church. He was a member of the Blue Springs South Drama Club, the National Forensics League and the Blue Springs South Chamber Choir. He was a member of the Falcon Club of America. He had performed in many plays and musicals including "The Works of Carl Sandburg, " "Aesop's Fallables, " and "Crazy For You." He was involved in numerous productions including "Guys and Dolls." He had also directed a one-act play, "The Ledge, Ledger and Legend." He loved leading cheers at his younger brothers' ball games and spending time in Michigan with family and friends. He had hoped to someday own a pet store. He spent many hours working on his web page at www.geocities.com/broadway/booth/3580. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frederick and Matilda Goff; his great-grandmother, Lydia Ross; and brother, Matthew, and sister, Melissa Goff.

His survivors include his parents, Gregory Thomas and Suzanne Rae Goff of the home; brothers, Jason, Ryan and Nathaniel Goff, all of the home; maternal grandparents, Clifton and Leota Gillespie, Three Rivers, Mich.; maternal great-grandfather, John Francis Ross, Caseville, Mich.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Colonial Hills RLDS Church, 3539 S. Missouri 7, Blue Springs. Burial will be in the Blue Springs cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight at the Webb-Freer Funeral home, 205 S. 17th St., Blue Springs. A fund has been established in Adam's memory. Contributions may be made to the Adam T. Goff Memorial Fund, Joseph D. Booz, trustee, in care of the Bank of Jacoma, Blue Springs, or in care of the Webb-Freer Funeral Home.

SANDI L. CLARK

Sandi Lou Clark, 47, Raytown, died Monday, March 16, 1998, at Park Place Nursing Home.

Mrs. Clark was born Dec. 18, 1950, in Charles City, Iowa, and had lived in Waterloo and Cedar Falls areas in Iowa before moving to the greater Kansas City area 10 years ago. She was a homemaker.

Her survivors include her husband, Curtiss Jay Clark of the home; three sons, Jamie Phillip Pratt, Waterloo, Iowa, Jeremy Jay Pratt, Independence, and Corey Daniel Pratt of the home; a stepson, Jeremy Michael Clark, Corpus Christi, Texas; a daughter, Anna Marie Golden, Issaquah, Wash.; two brothers, Gregory Oge and Troy Walton, both of Waterloo; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m Thursday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 9349 East 65th, Raytown; cremation. Arrangements are under the direction of Speaks Memorial Chapel.

FLORENCE H. DAUGHERTY

Florence Hattie Daugherty, 72, Independence, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at the Independence Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Daugherty was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Bloomfield, Iowa, and had lived in this area since 1954. She was a member of the Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She served as a volunteer in the Salvation Army S.A.S.H. program. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Laureate Iota Chapter and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Her survivors include her husband, Charles Daugherty of the home; two daughters, Cathy Baker and Kelly Brock, both of Independence; two brothers, Franklin Oakes, Palos Heights, Ill., and Richard Oakes, Tucson, Ariz.; and five grandchildren, Grace Baker, Paul Baker, Ross Baker, Lindsey Brock and Robert Brock.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Washington cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church.

RICHARD G. DILLEE

Richard George Dillee, 81, Independence, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at Independence Regional Health Center.

Mr. Dillee was born April 7, 1916, in Independence and was a lifelong Independence resident. He was a member of the Laurel Club and the RLDS Stone Church. He was a 1935 graduate of William Chrisman High School and a 1938 graduate of Graceland College.

His survivors include his wife, Ruth Dillee of the home; a daughter, Jerry Lewis, Gering, Neb.; and a grandson.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the RLDS Stone Church; cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the church.

MARIA FALTYNOWSKI

Maria Faltynowski, 75, Kansas City, died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at Truman Medical Center West.

Mrs. Faltynowski was born April 23, 1922, in Russia. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zygmunt Faltynowski on April 8, 1992.

Her survivors include two daughters, Lillian Majors, Independence, and Teresa Harold, Torrington, Wyo.; four sons, Stan Faltynowski, Kansas City, Bruno Faltynowski, Lexington, Mo., Richard Faltynowski, Independence, and Joe Faltynowski, Kansas City; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Raytown.

ARTHUR E. FLETCHER

Arthur Elmer Fletcher, 94, Lebanon, Mo., died Monday, March 9, 1998, at his home.

Mr. Fletcher was born Feb. 15, 1904. He had been employed by a laundry, Western Union, the U.S. Post Office, Otis Elevator and the State of Idaho. He had been a welding foreman for 46 years with Morrison Knudsen Co., which patented several of his inventions. In 1936 he started Ivywild Machine & Electric Shop. He was a baptized member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Preston Restoration Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ in Preston, Mo. He held the ordained priesthood office of deacon. His wife of 53 years, Jessie Valentine Fletcher, preceded him in death.

His survivors include a brother, Cecil Fletcher, Portland, Ore.; his children, Maxine Schall, Springfield, Mo.; Rosa Ferdig, Lebanon, Mo.; Julie Hartley, Aurora, Colo.; and Roger Fletcher, Renton, Wash.; grandchildren, Steven Ferdig, Ryan Schall, Trevin Schall, Larry Ferdig, Tami Lee, Cheryl Shockley, Janette Roper, Kara Hartley, Brenda Hartley, Jeremy Fletcher, and Barnaby Fletcher; and eight great-grandchildren.

A "Celebration of Life" will be Saturday at the RLDS Church in Lebanon, and in early April at the RLDS church in Boise, Idaho.

The remains of Mr. and Mrs. Art Fletcher will be scattered throughout the Boise foothills. The family suggests the following options for memorials to their father: Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 1315, Lebanon, Mo. 65536; Outreach International, P.O. Box 210, Independence, Mo. 64051-0210; or a gift for Zachery Schrader, 3 years old and in desparate need of a kidney transplant. JOHN W. JACKSON

John W. Jackson, 49, North Kansas City, died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City.

Mr. Jackson was born Aug. 15, 1948, in Lexington, Mo. He attended and graduated from Lexington High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a breakfast cook at Harrah's Casino.

His survivors include his wife, Juanita Jackson of the home; a sister, Vickie Grinde, LaPlanta, Mo.; his mother, Dorothy Jackson, Blue Springs; two sons, Shannon Jackson, Independence, and Shane Jackson, Blue Springs; and grandchildren.

Memorial services will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the Activity Room of Meadow Ridge, 1620 South 9th St., Blue Springs. Call 224-0309 for directions.

RALPH A. CURRY

Ralph Albert Curry, 81, Lone Jack, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs.

Mr. Curry was born Feb. 15, 1918, in Kansas City and was a lifelong area resident. He was a distribution clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years. He formerly worked for Standard Oil, the Carpenters Union and had been a farmer. He was a navigator in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, serving as first lieutenant having flown 52 missions. He received a Silver Star as well as other air medals. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

His survivors include his wife, Kathleen Newell Curry, and one stepson, Richard E. Thomas Jr., both of Lone Jack; one brother, Harold F. Curry, Waterford, Mich.; one sister, Dorothy E. Reynolds, Independence; three nephews, William E. Reynolds Jr., Mark Curry and Paul Curry; and three nieces, Nancy Keelean, Evelyn Richards and Jeanne Kuntz.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Winner and Overton, Independence, Mo. 64052.

EDWARD L. "EDDIE" THOMAS

Edward Leroy "Eddie" Thomas, 35, Independence, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999.

Mr. Thomas was born Dec. 18, 1963, in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. He graduated from William Chrisman High School and had served in the Army. He worked for Raytown Dodge for several years, and was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ.

His survivors include his mother and stepfather, Juanita and Carman Dunnam; two brothers, Brian Charles Thomas and Robbie Dunnam; four sisters, Lisa Weeks, Tracy Cederstrom, Barbara Williamson and Hope Hanna; two stepsisters, Lisa Wilgers and Kelly Goodman; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Espy; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were today at the church, 727 N. Main St. Burial was in Mount Washington cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to help defray funeral expenses, in care of the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel.

RAYMOND R. GREGG

Raymond R. Gregg, 80, Stockton, Mo., died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Gregg was born on Oct. 7, 1918, near Creighton, Mo. He was a crane operator for many years doing heavy construction, and was a member of the Hoisting and Portable Engineers Local Union 101. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret L. Owen Gregg in 1982.

His survivors include his wife of 16 years, Catherine Gregg of the home; six children, Donald R. Gregg, El Dorado, Kan., Sharon L. Thies, Bedford, Texas, Richard D. Gregg, Stockton, Mo., Alice M. Cook, Buckner, Bonnie S. McGee, El Dorado Springs, Mo., and Beverly Jo Cockriel, Smithville, Mo.; seven stepchildren, James Hoke, Smithville, Barbara Wade, Gladstone, Mo., Diana Noland, Kansas City, Wanda Jarvis, Warsaw, Mo., Mary Head, Weston, Mo., Patricia Head, Bolivar, Mo., and Janice Hoke, Lincoln, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one niece, Nona Lee Johnson.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Buckner Hill cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Citizen's Memorial Hospital Hospice, 113 E. Broadway, Bolivar, Mo. 65613, or the American Cancer Society.

IRA C. JENKINS

Ira Clifford Jenkins, 29, Blue Springs, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs.

Mr. Jenkins was born May 22, 1969, in Kansas City and had lived in Blue Springs most of his life. He was an Army veteran, where he became disabled. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Springs.

His survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Jenkins, Mansfield, Ohio; his parents, Ira and Jacqueline Jenkins, and one brother, Michael Wayne Harrison, all of Blue Springs; one sister, Karen Annette Bumpus, Kansas City; one nephew, Joey Harrison, Lee's Summit; two nieces, Christina Harrison, Lee's Summit, and Jacqueline Janay Lewis, Kansas City; and his grandmother, Geraldine Short, Kansas City.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Home, Kansas City. Burial will be in Leavenworth National cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

JOHN R. LEWIS JR.

John R. Lewis Jr., 75, Warsaw, Mo., formerly of Independence, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Mo.

Mr. Lewis was born Oct. 27, 1923, in Kansas City and had lived in this area until moving to Racket, Mo., in 1981. He was a retired shoe cobbler and had owned and operated John's Shoe Shop in Independence. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 217, Warsaw. He was also a member of the Warsaw RLDS congregation, Shawnee Masonic Lodge 653 A.F.&A.M., Osage Valley Chapter 502 Order of the Eastern Star, Benton County Scottish Rite and the Benton County Shrine Club, all in Warsaw, and the Kansas City Valley of Scottish Rite and the Ararat Shrine Temple of Kansas City. He was also a member of the T.O.P.S. Club of Warsaw and had received the honor of T.O.P.S. State King Award at a presentation in St. Louis. His wife, Norma L. Gough Lewis, died on April 14, 1994.

His survivors include one brother, Morgan J. Lewis, Independence; his stepmother, Jean Lewis, Windsor, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill cemetery, Butler, Mo. Masonic services will be held at 7 tonight at the funeral home, followed by a visitation.

WILLIAM H. LOWE SR.

William H. Lowe Sr., 79, Kansas City, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at St. Lukes Northland Hospital, North Kansas City.

Mr. Lowe was born July 22, 1919, in Brookfield, Mo., and had lived in Jackson County most of his life. He was retired from City Wide Heating & Air Conditioning, Kansas City, Kan. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

His survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lowe, Shawnee Mission, Kan.; two sons, William H. Lowe Jr., Olathe, Kan., and Michael D. Lowe, Kansas City; three daughters, Ellen A. Mieser and Wanda K. Correll, both of Independence, and Debra L. Gilbert, Kansas City; two stepdaughters, Janet Woodall, Kentucky, and Judy Fiegle, Kansas; one brother, Richard Lowe, Perth, Ontario, Canada; one sister, Annie L. Duker-Hahnel, Kansas City; 11 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Mound Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at New Salem Funeral Home.

MARY ELIZABETH REDDELL

Mary Elizabeth Reddell, 74, San Angelo, Texas, died Wednesday, April 29, 1998.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. today in the White Funeral Home Chapel, Idalou, Texas. Burial will be in Idalou cemetery.

Mrs. Reddell was born Nov. 30, 1923, in Pynett, Ark., the daughter of William Kiser and Martha Ann Shanks Richardson. She had lived in San Angelo since 1977. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Jarratt, San Angelo; two sisters, Maude Adams, Independence, and Vera Richardson, Los Angeles, Calif; three grandchildren and special friend Ora Thornton, San Angelo.

LILLIAN M. PENDERGRAST

Lillian M. Pendergrast, 72, Odessa, died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, at her home.

Mrs. Pendergrast was born March 25, 1926, in Sheffield, Iowa, and had lived in the Bates City/Odessa area since 1975. She had worked in several nutrition centers as a cook. She was a Lutheran. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Pendergrast on Feb. 26, 1993.

Her survivors include two sons, Gary Pendergrast, Polo, Mo., and Edwin Pendergrast, Lawson, Mo.; a daughter, Dorothea Hicks, Lone Jack, Mo.; a brother, Alfred Nagel, Rockwell, Iowa; a sister, Emma Ammerman, Sheffield, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Burial will be in Bates City cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the Royer Chapel.
