Charles Dale Lyngar
(June 21, 1931 - December 24, 2011)

Charles “Charlie” Dale Lyngar, age 80, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011, at his home.

Charles was born June 21, 1931, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of J. Frank and Blanche (Whaley) Lyngar.

After graduating from Topeka High School, he went to Washburn University. He then went to General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan until his marriage June 7, 1951, to his high school sweetheart, Eva May Shaner, who survives.

After they were married , Eva May joined him in Flint, Michigan, where Charles went to General Motors Institute of Technology, sponsored by GM Fisher Body Flint # 1 Plant. He graduated as an Industrial Engineer in 1955. He was transferred to the GM plant in Tarrytown, NY where he was an electrical foreman. In 1959, he was transferred to the GM Leeds plant in Kansas City as general foreman in Plant Engineering. He was promoted to Plant Engineer in 1965. Charles transferred to the Fairfax plant in 1970 where he was Superintendent of Maintenance. After retiring at the age of 50, they moved to their lake home in Shell Knob, Missouri.

Charles and Eva May were blessed with eight children, who all reside in Missouri. The oldest is Frank (Nancy) of KC. The second child is Gary (Gretchen) of Lee’s Summit. The youngest child is Michael (Shelly) of Kearney. They had five daughters in order, Charlene Tade (Tony) of Lee’s Summit, Karen Dix (Greg) of KC, Susan Luker (Jack) of Shell Knob, Donna Trader (Mark) of Springfield and Paula Cosentino of Lee’s Summit. They have 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Charles loved life and family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, pool tournaments at the Eagles Lodge and sports. He could fix most anything. Charles said that the best thing he did was to retire at age 50, so he could spend time with his family. He will be deeply missed by his family, by everyone who knew him and especially by his wife, Eva May.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011, in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob, Missouri.

Lonnie Eugene McCullough
(September 15, 1942 - December 26, 2011)

U.S. Veteran
Lonnie Eugene McCullough, age 69, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.

He was born September 15, 1942, in Haskell, Oklahoma the son of Paul McCullough and Maudie Kincaide. On March 12, 1960, in Miami, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Connie Sue Buntin and remained married for fifty-two years. To this union two children were born, Lonnie, Jr. and Robert.

Survivors include his wife, Connie; his son, Lonnie McCullough, Jr. and his wife Deanna of Pryor, Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law, Chris McCullough and espoused Mike Creason of Mano, Missouri; two sisters, Judy Nance of Cassville, Missouri and Janet Wentz of Shell Knob, Missouri; one brother, Paul McCullough of Berryville, Arkansas and one grandson, Brandon McCullough and his wife Leslie of Cassville, Missouri.

Preceding him in death were his father, Paul McCullough; his mother, Maudie Kincaide; one son, Robert McCullough and two brothers, Wayne McCullough and Robert Jackson.

Lonnie was lovingly raised by TJ and Clarence King of Cassville, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Lonnie worked in law enforcement most of his life including working for the City of Cassville Police Department for twenty-eight years. He served as a city Patrolman, as the DARE Officer and Public Education Officer and for the last seven years as Chief of Police in Cassville. Upon his retirement in April of 2008, the city dedicated the new Cassville Police Department to Lonnie. A plaque bearing Lonnie’s name and likeness is on permanent display in the department.

In addition to his law enforcement duties, Lonnie was a devoted community volunteer. For many years he assisted with the Cassville Schools Hooked On Fishing Program, Kids Fishing Day at Roaring River, Cassville Jr. Football League and the Cassville 2000 Community Coalition and Youth Advisory Board.

Lonnie loved his family. His wife, Connie was the love of his life. Lonnie loved and supported his sons and daughters-in-law. His grandson, Brandon and wife Leslie were his pride and joy. He enjoyed spending time with friends and hunting, gardening, fishing and bee keeping.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 30, 2011, in Cassville First Baptist Church, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend James Weaver will conduct the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Cassville.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

James Freddie Berziel
(July 9, 1925 - December 26, 2011)

James Freddie Berziel, age 86, passed away early Monday morning December 26, 2011, at his home in Joplin.

He was born July 9, 1925, the son of James Nathan and Arvilla (Hance) Berziel. Fred was the youngest of five children. He was married to Wilma Fern Santee on September 16, 1952, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Fred received his education at Wheaton, Missouri, where he graduated from Wheaton High School. During his life Fred was a resident of Joplin, Missouri and Wheaton, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Army as a military police officer during the Korean War. He served as mayor of Wheaton and was a charter member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.

Fred is survived by his son, Gale Berziel of Grove, Oklahoma; his daughter, Patricia Adams and her husband, Wayne of Neosho, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Brett Berziel, Becky Jacobs, Chad Adams, Braden Berziel, Clayton Adams, Robin Patterson and James Lofton; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern on July 16, 2005, his parents and his siblings, Hazel Berziel, George Berziel, Maxine Lee and Leora Flora.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Thursday, December 29, 2011, in Wheaton Southern Baptist Church, under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Richard Buck will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be held at Rocky Comfort cemetery, Rocky Comfort, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Genevieve Black
(Died December 28, 2011)

Genevieve Black, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville, Missouri.

She was born June 27, 1923, in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, the daughter of Martin E. and Lula (Lamberson) McClure. On March 5, 1942, in Monett, Missouri, she was united in marriage to William H. Black, who preceded her in death on November 14, 1988. Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two daughters, Marsha Moore of Cassville, Missouri and Gailene Jackson of Columbia, Missouri; one son, Conard Black of Cassville, Missouri; six grandsons; one granddaughter; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Genevieve grew up and received her education at Rocky Comfort, where she graduated from high school. She was a life-long resident of this area and was a homemaker. Since 1946 she had made her home in Cassville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Cassville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 2, 2012, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend James Weaver will conduct the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Cassville.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Contributions may be made to Oak Hill cemetery or First Baptist Church Missions in memory of Genevieve.

Ethel Charleen Huffhines
(March 20, 1928 - December 28, 2011)

Ethel Charleen Huffhines, age 83, of Crane, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011, in Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare Center, Crane, Missouri.

She was born March 20, 1928, in Cape Fair, Missouri, the daughter of Willard and Hettie (Carney) Seitz. On June 23, 1946, in Ormsby County, Nevada, she was united in marriage to Howard Huffhines, who preceded her in death on September 24, 1986. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Jack and Joe Seitz and two sisters, Noma Carney and Nona (Judy) Swearingen.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Ethel retired from the Department of Motor Vehicle in Sacramento, California. She moved with her husband, Howard to a farm in Barry County that was originally homesteaded by her grandfather, Henry Carney. Ethel enjoyed her cattle and catching fish out of Flat Creek. She was a member of Wheelerville Christian Union Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 31, 2011, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Leon Hughes will conduct the services. Burial will be in Carney cemetery, Jenkins, Missouri.

Barbara Jane Holden
(August 23, 1927 - December 30, 2011)

Received into Heaven 12/30/2011; Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt & friend:

Barbara Jane Holden. Born 8/23/1927 in Cassville, MO to Gladys Mae Williams Holden and John Allen Holden. She is survived by her older sister, Mary Francis Whorton of Carson City, NV and 2 cherished sons; Gary L. (BethAnn) Bracken of Robertsville, MO and Larry G. (Sheryl) Bracken of Marthasville, MO; treasured "Mema" to Bryan Patrick (Amanda) Bracken of Columbia, and Kathryn Mae (Fernando) Abreu of Warrensburg, MO; step-grandmother to Devon (Amanda) Martin of Virginia Beach, VA and Crystal Martin of Washington, MO; brother-in-law & dear friend, Marion "Merle" Bracken of Rector, AR; and many beloved nieces and nephews, especially Carol Jo (Don) Rohrbach of Bolivar, MO.

Barb was an independent spirit, fiercely devoted to and protective of her family. In addition to love of family, she loved to travel and found enjoyment with a good book. Retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling - St. Louis after 30 years service, she resided in Sacramento, CA; South Padre Island & Victoria, TX; Farmington, Crestwood, Marthasville & Washington, MO. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Barb's family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses, aids and staff at Grandview Nursing Home & Heartland Hospice for the dedicated and loving care they provided to Barb to the very end. They were truly angels on earth for us.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 4, 2012, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Tony Ball will conduct the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Cassville.

Robert Eugene Allred
(July 26, 1940 - January 1, 2012)

Robert Eugene Allred, age 71, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012, in St. John’s Hospital, Cassville, Missouri.

He was born July 26, 1940, in Alfriend, Arkansas, the son of John W. and Sara Jane (Buck) Allred. On August 26, 1967, in Shell Knob, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Janice Wilson, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Karla Monté Wolf and her husband, Aubrey of Jenkins, Missouri, Angela Christine Hare and her husband, Jim of Cassville, Missouri, Alisa Jean Fipps and her husband, Brian of Centerton, Arkansas and Sonya Lea Luallen and her husband, Kendall of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one stepsister, Jane Spencer and her husband, Euel of Harrison, Arkansas and seven grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Grace Ann Serl.

Robert moved to California at an early age and graduated from high school in Kings City, California. After moving to Missouri, Robert was employed as an engineer for Prier Brass in Kansas City, Missouri. Most recently, he had worked as a cabinetmaker, as well as, farming. He attended First Baptist Church in Cassville. Some of his favorite pastimes were farming, showing pigs at farm shows, bird hunting, target shooting and he had published a book. The St. Louis Cardinals were his favorite team.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 6, 2012, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell and Pastor Rex Mooneyham will conduct the services.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

In liew of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Memory of Robert.

Adaline L. Holben
(March 16, 1933 - January 12, 2013)

Adaline Louise Holben, age 79, of Cassville, Missouri, formerly of Clarksville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013, in Cassville Health Care and Rehab.

She was born in Barstow, California, March 16, 1933, the daughter of Hugh Hamilton, Sr. and Norma (McDonald) Hamilton. In January, 1965, at Clarksville, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Vernon Robert Holben, who preceded her in death on May 13, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Myron McCarl, Jr., Western United States and Donnie McCarl of Alderpoint, California; three daughters, Adaline Holben, Molly Lundin of Eureka, California and Debbie Buel of Eddyville, Oregon; two brothers, James Hamilton and his wife, Alice and Hugh Hamilton all of Eugene, Oregon; two sisters, Jo Davis and her husband, Kenny of Wheaton, Missouri and Catherine Gent and her husband, Ernie of Junction City, Oregon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Adaline received her education in California. She moved to Clarksville, Arkansas where she lived all her married life. She was a cook for a care center, as well as, a loving wife and mother. She was a member of the Christian Church in Clarksville. In October, 2006, she moved to Cassville and resided at Red Rose Inn and later at Cassville Health Care and Rehab.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 19, 2013, in Oakland cemetery, Clarksville, Arkansas.

Arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
