Marianna Wolpers

The visitation tonight for Marianna Knecht Wolpers is open to all of her friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Wolpers, who died Monday, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 301 N. Main St. The visitation period will start at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel.

Sylvia McCoy

VAN BUREN -- Sylvia N. McCoy, 79, of Omaha, Neb., died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, in Omaha.

Ms. McCoy was born June 18, 1923, in St. Louis. She was affiliated with the Assembly of God church and was a retired nurse.

Survivors include one daughter, Alice Faye Annan of Coin, Iowa; two sons, Ronald Yates and Roger Yates, both of Omaha; two brothers, Yuel Stevenson of Fenton and Doyle Stevenson of Florissant; three sisters, Mildred Stevenson of Van Buren, Virgie Coke of Fredericktown and Norma Love of Fenton; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 today at West Lawn-Hill Crest Funeral Home in Omaha. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren with the Rev. Bruce Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Site cemetery in Fremont. McSpadden Funeral Home of Van Buren is in charge of local arrangements.

Hubert Rogers

Hubert Allen Rogers of Sikeston died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Hunter Acres Care Center in Sikeston.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Cotrell Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff.

Jesse LeRoy Manis

VAN BUREN - Jesse LeRoy Manis, 71, of Ellsinore, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Manis was born July 25, 1929, in Ellsinore. He was a retired carpenter and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar and was a coin collector.

On June 17, 1970, he married Shirley Arlene Johnson in Doniphan. She survives.

Also surviving are five brothers, Robert Manis of Paragould, Ark., Bert Manis of Ellsinore, Jim Manis of Winona, Albert Manis of Poplar Bluff and Jerry Manis of Tenaha, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday at the Henson cemetery in Ellsinore with the Rev. Phil Tanner officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Henson cemetery Fund.

Glen McCormack

ELLINGTON - Glen Leslie McCormack, 84, of Ellington died Wednesday April 18, 2001, at the Brent B. Tinnin Manor.

Mr. McCormack was born Jan. 21, 1917, in Piedmont. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II in Alaska.

Survivors include one brother, John McCormack of Ellington; and one sister, Peggy Josephine Peterson of Smith Mt. Lake, Va.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at McSpadden Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lester Henry officiating. Burial will be in Ellington City cemetery.

Irene Rideout

NEELYVILLE -- Irene P. Rideout, 84, of Harviell died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Rideout was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Ida County, Iowa. She was a member of the Hyacinth Eastern Star 568 in Naylor and a member of the Current River Baptist Church in Doniphan. She was a housewife and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

On Feb. 14, 1939, she married Roy Rideout in Fairdealing. He preceded her in death Sept. 19, 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Rideout and wife Donna and Robert 'Bob' Rideout, all of Naylor; two daughters, Ruth Myers and husband John of Poplar Bluff and Virginia Johnson and husband Rodney of Naylor; two sisters, Golden Hiles of Los Angeles and Rosalie Jones and husband Lee of Shingleton, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Richard Sullivan and wife Monica, Jeremy Rideout and wife Annie, Josh Rideout, Ryan Johnson, Jennifer Rideout, Chad Rideout, Hilary Johnson and Leslie Rideout; and three great-grandchildren, Alyessa Rideout, Jackson Rideout and Sean Sullivan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rouban Waldemer and Hilda Smith Waldemer; two sisters, Joyce White and Margie Scott; and two brothers, David Waldemer and Earl Waldemer.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville with an Eastern Star service beginning at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wess Flaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Kinsey cemetery in Harviell.

Ola Robinett

DONIPHAN -- Ola N. Robinett, 87, of Doniphan, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at her residence.

Mrs. Robinett was born Nov. 12, 1918, in Gatewood, the daughter of Willace and Pearl Wilkerson Davis. She was baptized Nov. 27, 1955, in the First Baptist Church and continued her membership there all her life. She was a housewife, then worked at Hope's Toggery in the late 1960s and later worked at Ripley County Memorial Hospital as a cook and later as a nurse's aide. She retired in 1982. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and spending time with family. Her second love, after her family, was sewing. She did beautiful embroidery and made numerous beautiful quilts and gave them to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Happy Homemakers Club.

On March 24, 1940, she married Roy C. Robinett. He preceded her in death Aug. 3, 1973. She was also preceded in death by one son, Olen C. Robinett on May 21, 1993; one brother, Melvin Wilkerson of Doniphan; and two sisters, Roberta Scott of Poplar Bluff and her twin, Nola Smothers, of Doniphan; and her parents.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy N. Clark of Pittsfield, Ill.; one son, Charles E. Robinett of Johnstown, Colo.; five granddaughters, Shelia Lewis of Baylis, Ill., Sherry Lewis of Lynnville, Ill., Christy Moore, Annissa White and Glennell Stilwell, all of Doniphan; and one grandson, Grady Robinett of Doniphan; four great-grandchildren, Dustin Lewis of Baylis, Heath White, Keisha White and Hanna Stilwell, all of Doniphan; and three sisters, Martha Swindle, Leora Smith and Cora Boze, all of Doniphan.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jim Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Doniphan cemetery.

Earl Ludwigsen

Earl George Ludwigsen, 73, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.

Arrangements are pending with Cotrell Funeral Service.

Albert Wood

WILLIAMSVILLE -- Albert Thomas Wood, 84, of Williamsville died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at his residence.

Mr. Wood was born March 27, 1918, in Taskee. He was affiliated with the Baptist faith and was a retired laborer for the Laclede Steel Company in Illinois. He was also a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

In 1945, he married Pearl Harshaberger. She preceded him in death July 9, 1999.

Survivors include one sister, Edith Ballew of Springfield.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Larry Soffray officiating. Ruegg Funeral Home in Williamsville is in charge of arrangements.

Frankie Hunsperger

DEXTER -- Frankie Ray Hunsperger, 45, of Dexter, formerly of East Prairie, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Mr. Hunsperger was born Jan. 21, 1957, in Wyatt. He was employed with Ames Manufacturing (Formerly IXL Manufacturing) in Bernie.

Survivors include one son, Kris Hunsperger of Dexter; one daughter, Shawna Wood of Dexter; two brothers, Tom Hunsperger of Dexter and Larry Hunsperger of Clarkton; four sisters, Bobbie Turnbow of Bloomfield, Kay Stafford of Dexter, Jo Hunsperger of Grayling, Mich., and Tammy Burnett of Malden; his parents, Frank and Rita Hunsperger of Dexter; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will begin at 9 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jack Hargraves and the Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating. Burial will be in Wayside cemetery near Koshkonong.

Terry Boyce

Terry "Buckwheat" Boyce, 51, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Mr. Boyce, the son of Mary Jo Marley Boyce and the late J. D. Boyce, was born Jan. 6, 1952, in Caruthersville. A disabled veteran, he served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, a member of the Eagles Lodge, the D.A.V., and the P.O.W.-M.I.A. organizations.

On April 7, 1973, he married Debbye Williams. She survives.

Other survivors include his mother, Mary Jo Boyce of Caruthersville; two children, Erin Moody and husband, Denver Joe, and Cody Boyce of Poplar Bluff; and one brother, Larry Jo Boyce of Caruthersville.

A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.

Memorials may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, 8605 Cameron St., Suite 400, Silver Springs, Md. 20910-3710.

Glenaverne Moore

FISK - Glenaverne Moore, 81, of Saginaw, Mich., died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the Covenant Hospital in Saginaw.

Mrs. Moore was born March 27, 1919, in Broseley and had lived in Saginaw for about five years. She had previously lived in California for about seven years but had spent most of her life in the Poplar Bluff and St. Louis areas. She had been employed as an LPN at Poplar Bluff Hospital and Firman Desloge Hospital.

Survivors include one son, Ken Mayberry of Saginaw; one daughter, Patricia Risbeck of Corona, Calif.; one brother, Harold Mayberry of St. Louis; a sister, Helen Richland of Hialeah, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk with the Rev. Fred Applegate officiating.
