Harvey Bediant

CAMPBELL -- Harvey E. Bediant, 85, of Campbell died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

Mr. Bediant was born Sept. 14, 1918, in Los Angeles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II and was a retired farmer.

On March 29, 1980, he married Anna Bullard Bryant. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Benny Bediant of Campbell; 10 stepchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Summers of Poplar Bluff and Eleanor Summers of Collinsville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Selma Bediant; and one brother, Harold Bediant.

Visitation was held Tuesday at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. George Needham officiating. Burial will be in the Elder cemetery in Campbell.

Charles Hayman

VEEDERSBURG, Ind. -- Charles E. Hayman, 71, of Veedersburg, Ind., died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Williamsport, Ind.

Mr. Hayman was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Vermillion County, Ill. He was a member of the F. and A.M. Lodge 60 of Covington, Ind. He worked as an auto mechanic for Burgner's Garage. He then owned and operated his own body repair shop in Sterling, Ind., until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing.

On Dec. 5, 1951, he married Jenny Harvey in Sterling. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Ron Hayman of Wingate, Ind., Robert Hayman of West Lafayette, Ind., and Charles L. Hayman of Ridge Farm, Ill.; five daughters, Cindi Ellis, Jenny Hardesty and Mary Powell, all of Veedersburg, Becky Barnhill of Grandin and Marcia Hannon of Attica, Ind.; one sister, Ethel Harvey of Martinsville, Ind.; 25 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope cemetery in Covington.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, the American Cancer Society or the St. Vincent's Hospital in Williamsport.

John Carnahan

MALDEN -- John Joshua Carnahan, 75, of Okeechobee, Fla., died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at his residence.

Mr. Carnahan was born Nov. 15, 1928, in Butler County. He was a former resident of Malden where he attended the First Baptist Church and was a member of the Malden Saddle Club and the Malden Jaycees. He retired after 35 years of service with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1951 to 1953.

On Dec. 22, 1950, he married Betty Lou Moore in Hendrickson. She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Nancy VanGennip of Brandon, Fla.; one brother, Paul Carnahan of Poplar Bluff; and two sisters, Maymie Campbell and Lorene Kearbey, all of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Landess Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Norma Hayden

MALDEN -- Norma Jean Hayden, 59, of Bolivar, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar.

Mrs. Hayden was born March 27, 1944, in Devener. She was affiliated with the Baptist faith and was an over-the-road truck driver.

Survivors include one daughter, Lavonda Jo Brown of Hayti; one son, Kenneth Turner of Malden; three sisters, Shirley Penny of Springfield, Linda Mangus of St. Peters and Donna Hayden of Fenton; four brothers, William Hayden of Vilas, N.C., James Hayden of Willaby, Ohio, Roy Hayden of Campbell and Hershel Hayden of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bryan Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn cemetery in Campbell.

Kenneth Williamson

DEXTER -- Kenneth George Williamson, 76, of Bloomfield died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Mr. Williamson was born Dec. 16, 1926, near Bloomfield. He had been a resident of Missouri for all of his life.

On Aug. 24, 1981, he married Mary Alice Smith. She preceded him in death June 11, 1998.

Survivors include four daughters, Pam Williamson of Fort Myers, Fla., Mona Williamson of Biloxi, Miss., Carol Hux of Essex and Lisa Fuqua of Bloomfield; two sons, Kenny Dale Williamson of Biloxi and Dempsey Williamson of Bloomfield; four stepdaughters, Ella Marie Oliver and Paula W. Gilliam, both of Bloomfield, Lisa G. Smith of Aquilla and Kelley J. Edwards of Ripley, Tenn.; three stepsons, Charles A. Smith Jr. and David Chad Smith, both of Bloomfield, and Michael W. Smith of Advance; one brother, Arvil Williamson of Dexter; two sisters, Edith Scism of Warrensburg and Oma Matthews of Salem, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Carlos Jeffries officiating. Burial will be in the Hagy cemetery in Dexter.

Elsie Orr

FISK -- Elsie Orr, 88, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, May 24, 2004, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Orr was born March 7, 1916, at Broseley and had lived in St. Louis for 38 years. She was a member of the Landreth Chapel General Baptist Church and a homemaker.

On Sept. 5, 1951, she married Robert Orr at St. Louis. He preceded her in death in 1977.

Survivors include one sister, Alma Riley of Avon, Ind. and a sister-in-law, Mildred Landreth of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. The funeral service will follow at noon in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Edwin Runyon officiating. Burial will be in the Ash Hill cemetery.

Glen Garrett

ST. CHARLES -- Glen Garrett, 68, of Qulin, formerly of St. Charles County, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at his residence.

Mr. Garrett was born Sept. 16, 1935, at Aberdeen, Miss. He had worked as an assembler for General Motors in St. Louis for 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from April 20, 1944 to April 19, 1957.

He was married to Sue Garrett of Qulin. She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Brenda Hammock of St. Charles; two sons, David Garrett of St. Peters and Steve Garrett of St. Charles; one sister, Agness Suntkin of St. Louis; one brother, Hollis Garrett of Millstadt, Ill.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center in St. Charles. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the St. Charles Memorial Gardens, 3950 West Clay in St. Charles.

Memorials may be made to the Fargus General Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Baue Funeral Home.

Stanley Healy

Stanley W. Healy, 76, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Mark Twain Caring Center.

Mr. Healy was born Aug. 17, 1927, at Polk, Ill. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in W.W.II. He retired from the Navy in 1964 after 20 years of service.

Survivors include two daughters, Rhoda Healy and Diane Gillis, both of Boston; two sons, Stanley E. Healy of Chaffee and Paul Healy of Bremmerton, Wash.; one sister, Enid Snee of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Ed Healy and the Rev. Bob Healy, both of Poplar Bluff and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Orville Wilkerson officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Missouri Veteran's cemetery in Bloomfield.

Larry Trotter

DONIPHAN -- Larry Robert Trotter, 47, of Grandin died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, in Ripley County as the result of an auto accident.

Mr. Trotter was born June 8, 1956, at Chicago. He was a member of the Good Hope Church in Grandin and had worked at the charcoal factory.

Survivors include two sisters, Nancy Marie Roberts and Arleen Jean Kearbey, both of Grandin, and one brother, Robert Michael Trotter of Grandin.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service will follow at noon in the Macedonia cemetery in Ripley County with the Rev. David Grooves officiating.

Dollie Jenkins

DEXTER -- Dollie Jones Jenkins, 85, of Dexter died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at her residence.

Mrs. Jenkins was born Aug. 11, 1918, at Vanduser. She was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Dexter and was a retired seamstress for Inland Shoe Co.

On Nov. 24, 1959, she married Walter Jenkins in Indiana. He preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1979. She was previously married to Lester Monroe Jones on Dec. 19, 1936, at Jackson. He preceded her in death March 26, 1958.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Elder of Dexter and Margaret Pauling of Freemont, Ohio; two sons, Hilbert Monroe Jones of Sulphur, La., and Wesley Leon Jones of Jackson; one sister, Christine Slinkard of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Thomas Eugene Finley of Cape Girardeau; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Winferd Wren officiating. Burial will be in the Union Park cemetery in Chaffee.
