Adeline LoCascio

ROCHESTER, Ill. -- Adeline LoCascio, 79, of Springfield, Ill., formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield, Ill.

Mrs. LoCascio was born March 26, 1925, in Bellwood, Ill., and was a member of the Church of St. Jude in Rochester. She was a former member of the Sacred Heart Church in Poplar Bluff.

On April 11, 1953, she married Frank J. LoCascio at Bellwood, Ill. He survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Catherine Carlson of Rochester, Ill.; two sons, Dr. Robert G. LoCascio of Hoffman Estates, Ill. and William F. LoCascio of Troy, Ala.; one sister, Marie Boeger of Darien, Ill.; one brother, Eugene Marek of Bellwood, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester, Ill. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of St. Jude in Rochester with the Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Mark Maddux

Marg "Mark" Maddux, 73, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at his residence.

Mr. Maddux was born April 7, 1931, in Qulin and was a lifetime resident of Butler County. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War. He was a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, yard work and playing the steel guitar.

On Feb. 21, 1967, he married Margie Kenser at Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Verna Meador and Regina Hager, both of Poplar Bluff; two sons, Terry Bishop and Randy Bishop, both of Poplar Bluff; four sisters, Pansy Aud, Almira Vinson and Carol Moore, all of Poplar Bluff and Claudi Vineyard of Ohio; two brothers, Norman Maddux of Poplar Bluff and Jessie Maddux of California; his mother, Maudie Maddux of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Revs. Howard Coleman and Ithel Kenser officiating. Burial will be in the Fairdealing cemetery.

Jessie Kitchens

PIGGOTT -- Jessie Denver Kitchens, 86, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at his residence.

Mr. Kitchens was born June 22, 1917, to the late Solomon James and Minnie May (McFerron) Kitchens in Leora. He joined the United States Navy Oct. 15, 1940, in Detroit. His tour of duty included service on several vessels in many foreign areas. Among them were Guantanmo Bay, Puerto Rico, Japan and most importantly, Okinawa where a Kamikaze pilot destroyed his ship. He was discharged form the service after six years of active service and five years in the reserves. He retired from the John J. Pershing Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

On Oct. 12, 1978, he married Marjorie Brandon and they resided in Poplar Bluff until his death.

Other survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Ralph Mitchell of Poplar Bluff and several nieces and nephews. Among those who were especially close are; Ann and Jerry Winkler, Jerry and Betsy Kitchen of the St. Louis area and Judge Steven and Diane Mitchell of Dexter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one sister, Bammie King and three brothers, Floyd, David and Virgil.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Piggott cemetery with the Rev. Donald Richmann officiating.

Irby Funeral Home of Piggott will be in charge of arrangements.

Gordon Welke

CHANHASSEN, Minn. -- Gordon Alvin Welke, 50, of Chanhassen, Minn., died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Owatonna, Minn.

Dr. Welke was born Jan. 12, 1954, in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, the son of William and Martha (Erisman) Welke. He earned his medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan Medical School. He did two years residency in Flint, Mich., one year in Vancouver, B.C. and two years in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Upon completing his orthopedic training, he worked for three years in Ft. McMurray, Alberta, six years in Poplar Bluff, six years in Owatonna, Minn., five years in the Minneapolis area and currently was working for Fairmont Medical Center--Mayo Health System. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and he loved to fly airplanes.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Welke and two daughters, Martina and Monica, all of Chanhassen. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 2020 Coulter Blvd., Chanhassen, Minn. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. A private family burial will be held.

Memorials may be made to the Fairmont Community Hospital Foundation or the Minneapolis Children's Hospitals and Clinics Foundation, 2910 Centre Pointe Drive, Roseville, Minn. 55113.

Gracie Mitchell

DEXTER -- Gracie Marie Mitchell, 49, of Dexter died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at her residence.

Miss Mitchell was born July 20, 1954, at St. Louis. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and a member of the Stoddard County A.R.C. She had worked as a clerk at Burger King in Dexter until ill health forced her retirement.

Survivors include her father, William Mitchell of Richwoods; four sisters, Wilma Bourisaw of Potosi, Wanda Mitchell of St. Louis, Linda Mitchell of Old Mines and Shirley Mitchell and two brothers, Billy Mitchell and Ronald Mitchell, both of Richwoods.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Chenoweth officiating. Burial will be in the Hagy cemetery.

Everett Bass

Everett Bass, 78, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Cotrell Funeral Service of Poplar Bluff.

William House

MALDEN -- William David House, 52, of Malden died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Mr. House was born Nov. 18, 1951, at Malden and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his mother, Dovie House of Malden; one brother, Gary House of Malden and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Ed Beaird officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.

Cecil Davidson

DONIPHAN -- Cecil Hugh Davidson, 77, of Doniphan died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.

Mr. Davidson was born Aug. 18, 1926, at Beaumont, Texas. He was in the Merchant Marines and retired after 22 years. He was the owner of the restaurant at the Current River Country Club for 20 years before retirement.

On July 3, 1965, he married Rosie Sullivan at Doniphan. She preceded him in death Feb. 2, 2001.

Survivors include one son, Chris Davidson of Scott, Ark. and one grandson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove cemetery.

Regina Haney

DEXTER -- Regina Haney, 55, of Dexter died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Dexter.

Mrs. Haney was born Feb. 9, 1949, at Cape Girardeau and had lived in Dexter for six years . She was a former resident of Dexter and Bloomfield. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a registered nurse manager for Tyson Foods in Dexter.

Survivors include one son, Brian Jines of Bloomfield; one sister, Brenda Haney Collier of Dexter; her parents, Kathryn McFall Haney and Eugene Haney, both of Dexter; her grandmother, Lula McFall of Dexter and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 20, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Father David Dohogne officiating. Burial will be in the Chalk Bluff cemetery in Dexter.

Millard Orick

MALDEN -- David Millard Orick, 87, of Tallapossa died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at John J. Pershing V.A. Hospital in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Orick was born Sept. 26, 1916, at Lee County, Va. He was a member of the Tallapoosa Baptist Church, the NRA, the Malden VFW, an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during W.W.II and received the Bronze Campaign Star, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Ribbon, the Combat Infantryman Badge, Purple Heart and an Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon.

On Dec. 8, 1962, he married Mary Lucille Bradford Beeqle. She preceded him in death Dec. 24, 1975.

Survivors include a sister, Edna Orick of Tallapoosa; three nieces and three nephews.

Visitation will at 5 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Randy DeProw officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
