Robert F. “Bob” Harford
Robert F. “Bob” Harford, 83, died Sunday, July 4, 2010.
Bob was born Nov. 18, 1926.
He was a retired General Electric sales representative.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie; daughter, Nancy Worrell and husband David, Andover, Kan.; sons, John Harford and wife Marcia, Derby, Kan., Jim Harford and wife Carri, Omaha, Neb.; brother, Eugene Harford and wife Wanda, Halstad, Kan.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church, Omaha, Neb. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crosby Colonial Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be Friday, July 9, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Edgewood cemetery, Chillicothe, Mo., under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Diabetes Center of the Midlands; the MS Society; or the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of Crosby Burkett Swanson-Golden Colonial Chapel, Omaha, Neb.

Larry Littrell
Avid local horseman, Larry Littrell, 62, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Monday, July 5, 2010 at 12:30 a.m. of complications related to his battle with pancreatic cancer.
Larry Max Littrell was born Dec. 7, 1947 in Chillicothe, Mo., to Max and Mary Ann Littrell.
He was a 1965 graduate of Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe, Mo. He was a professional farrier and horse trainer his entire life and spent 10 years as a production manager for Script Pro.
Larry enjoyed horses and living the life of a cowboy. He enjoyed all aspects of being around and dealing with horses and horse and rodeo people. He spent his better part of his life on the back of a horse breaking and training countless numbers of them to ride, rein, and rope for himself and others. Many hours were also spent in the practice pen improving his roping skills for competition in the roping and rodeo arena. As a professional farrier he also spent many, many hours under a horse trimming and shoeing them with great pride and care.
Larry, along with his favorite companion and roping mare of 30 years, “Day Money” won numerous prizes, buckles and saddles including championships in Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, the United Rodeo Association and the Missouri Rodeo Cowboys Association.
He is survived by his best friend who loved and took care of him the last few years of his life, Mary Stimpson, of the home; his mother, Mary Ann Littrell, Chillicothe, Mo.; two brothers with whom he shared the love of horses and roping, Randy and friend Debbie Walker, Macon, Mo., and Jim and sister-in-law Lori Littrell, Elizabeth, Colo.; stepson, Dakotah Bartholomew, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Lindsay Lidge and husband Brad, daughter Avery and son Rowan, Castle Rock, Colo., Kelly Alexander and husband Josh and son Mason, Richland, Mo., Matthew and wife Samantha, Lone Tree, Colo., and Cody Littrell and wife Mendy, daughter Gracie and stepson Tryston; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the Wheeling cemetery, Wheeling, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Larry Littrell Memorial Fund and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.

Kelly L. Owens
Kelly L. Owens, 37, a resident of Lexington, Mo., died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Lafayette Regional Health Center, Lexington, Mo.
Kelly was born Nov. 8, 1972 in Leon, Iowa, the son of Homer Mark and Mary Virginia Stark Owens. On May 14, 2007 he married Beverly L. Ratcliffe at Lexington, Mo.
He graduated from West Campus High School, Fayetteville, Ark. He was employed by Remington Arms Co. of Lexington, Mo.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, of the home; one son, Dakota Owens, Glenrock, Wyo.; one step-daughter, Tiffany Shirley, Slocomb, Ala.; one step-son, Charles Shirley III, State of Penn.; his father, Homer Owens, Pattonsburg, Mo.; one brother, Chris Owens, Carrollton, Mo.; one half-sister, Angela Deweese, Des Moines, Iowa; and one niece, Courtney Owens, Carrollton, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bunch.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 25, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Slater Funeral Home, Trenton, Mo. Burial will be at Middle Point cemetery, west Mercer, Mo. Family visitation will be held at Slater Funeral Home on Friday from 12 to 1 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Slater Funeral Home, Trenton, Mo.

Thomas Robert Zimmerman
Thomas Robert Zimmerman, 49, of Brookfield, Mo., died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at his home.
He was born March 26, 1961 in Carrollton, Mo., the son of John Robert and Valjean (Gooch) Zimmerman.
He served in the National Guard in 1979. He had worked at Dura in Brookfield, Mo.
He was dearly loved by all his nieces and nephews and will always be remembered as “Uncle Tom.”
He is survived by his mother, Valjean Zimmerman, Purdin, Mo.; sister, Pat Crandell and Dean Wise, Dalton, Mo.; brother, Ray Zimmerman and fiance Jessica Truitt, Purdin, Mo.; nieces, Valerie Ross, Chillicothe, Mo., Amanda McKay and husband Bryan, Chillicothe, Mo., Riannon McCollum and husband Brian, Purdin, Mo., Hannah Zimmerman, Chillicothe, Mo.; nephew, Aiden Zimmerman, Chillicothe, Mo.; great-nieces, Suzzanne Nickell, Meadville, Mo., Liriel and Mattie Dean, Chillicothe, Mo., Felicia and Kaedence McCollum, Purdin, Mo.; and great-nephew, Jaxson McKay, Chillicothe, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Robert Zimmerman and an infant niece, Anna May Rafferty.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, Mo., with Rev. Rusty Abbott officiating. Burial will be in Locust Valley cemetery, west of Browning, Mo. Visitation will be held Friday, June 25, 2010 at 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials to Locust Valley cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Ruth Ann “Ruthie” Crain Scholl
Ruth Ann “Ruthie” Crain Scholl, 70, of Jensen Beach, Fla., formerly of Breckenridge and Chillicothe, Mo., died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in Palm City, Fla.
Ruth was born June 23, 1939 in Hillsboro, Iowa, the daughter of Hugh and Ruth Hoaglin. Ruth married Ronald “Chuck” Crain and lived in Breckenridge and Chillicothe, Mo. They had three children together. They moved the family to Excelsior Springs, Mo., then off to Florida in 1997.
She attended college in Kirksville, Mo.
Ruth Ann and Chuck lived in Palm City, Fla., together until his death in 1988. Ruth Ann worked at Martin County High School in the attendance office for many years until South Fork High School opened and she transferred to run the attendance office there. At South Fork, they offered her the job of coaching the girls softball team. This ended up being the highlight of her life as she enjoyed coaching and mentoring the girls. She coached the girls to many victories, on and off the field. These girls, 20 years later, were among the many visitors she had in her last days.
Ruth Ann married Carl Scholl of Utica, Mo., in 1990. They lived in Missouri until Churchill Truck Lines closed (Carl’s employer) and moved to Florida. They also had a vacation home in North Carolina. Ruth Ann enjoyed the mountains and living near the Cherokee Indian Reservation. They lived between Florida and North Carolina until Carl’s death from cancer in 2004.
Ruth Ann maintained their residences in both states but then came to live more on a full-time basis in Florida when she was diagnosed with Cushings Syndrome in 1988. Her health issues of the next few years were very trying. She eventually developed liver cancer along with many other complications.
She enjoyed reading, crafting, revitalizing older homes and shopping. Her favorite pastime was exploring the mountains and sitting on her porches to take in the views of either the river in Florida or the mountains in North Carolina.
Ruth Ann is survived by three children, Carla McMahon, Dallas, Texas, Randall Crain, Stuart, Fla., and Rebecca Crain Ramos, Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Seamus McMahon, Madigan McMahon, Ryan Crain, Brody Crain, Ridge Ramos and Rhett Ramos; a brother Jon Hoaglin; and sisters, Mary Sue Hoaglin and Marsha Cioffi.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Ruth Hoaglin and husbands, Chuck Crain and Carl Scholl.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Utica Baptist Church, Utica, Mo. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service on Sunday. Burial will be at Utica cemetery, Utica, Mo.
Donations in honor of Ruth Ann Crain Scholl may be made to the Hospice of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.

June Strickler
June Strickler, 86, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Meadville, Mo., died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Newmark Care Center, Kansas City.
June Grace was born June 2, 1924 in Portland, Ore., to Ray and Katie (Darling) Strickler.
June was a graduate of Meadville High School, Meadville, Mo. She began working for TWA Fleet Service in 1943 and was named TWA Employee of the Year in 1970 retiring in 1982. She was a lifetime member of Local 1650 in Kansas City.
She is survived by one niece, Diane Sprenger, Shedd, Ore.; one nephew, Kim Strickler; friends, Alice Marvin and Sue Young; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harold Strickler.
A funeral service will be Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Meadville, Mo. Burial will be in Meadville cemetery, Meadville, Mo. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time.
Memorials may be made to Meadville cemetery or Wayside Waifs and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Virginia L. (Jill) Bradshaw
Virginia L. (Jill) Bradshaw, 77, of Blue Springs, Mo., died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at The Seasons Care Center.
Jill was born in Kansas City, Mo. She was a graduate of William Chrisman High School in 1949 and a retiree from the Jones Store Company.
Jill is survived by her husband, Ritchie Bradshaw, of the home; daughters, Rene Abbate, Raymore, Mo., Emily J.C. Johnson, St. Louis, Mo; sons, Scott Bradshaw, Grandview, Mo., and Craig Bradshaw, Raymore, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Jeaneldon Whitehill, Independence, Mo., and many nieces and nephews.
Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emily Monroe, and brother Calvin P. Monroe.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, located at 100 East Red Bridge Road, Kansas City, MO 64114.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Southern Care Hospice of Lee’ Summit, Mo.; The Season Care Center of Kansas City, Mo.; or St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Marts Memorial Services.

Ginny Paden
Ginny Paden, 73, of Chillicothe and former resident of Tina, Mo., died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, Mo.
She was born on Aug. 29, 1936, the daughter of Herbert V. and V. Faye Hicks Anthony in St. Joseph, Mo. On May 28, 1954, she married Bill Paden in St. Joseph. He survives of the home.
Ginny was retired from operating the Tina Livestock Café in Tina. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her dog, Molly.
Survivors also include two sons, Steve Paden and wife Gaylen of Norfolk, Va., Robert Williams and wife Beverly of Altamont, Mo.; two daughters, Christina Gray and husband Bill of Chillicothe, Mo., Cindy Hind and husband Chuck of Chillicothe; daughter-in-law Janet Paden Shatto of Bosworth, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several children who also thought of her as grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, William Paden, Jr., two sisters, Alice Samuels and Mickey Schroff.
Funeral services will be held at th Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call on Saturday after 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Coloma cemetery, Coloma, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.

Gerald Arthur Agee
Gerald Arthur Agee, 80, of Greeley, Colo., died at home on June 16, 2010, after a brief battle with cancer.
Jerry, as he was known to his family and friends, was born on March 20, 1930 in Chillicothe, Mo. He was the second child and only son of Roy and Letha (Alexander) Agee.
After attending public schools and graduating from Chillicothe High School in 1949, Jerry worked for F.A. (Mossy) Lionberger at Lionberger Motors. He was drafted into the army during the Korean Conflict serving the country to his best ability while stationed in Europe. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1954, he returned to the United States and moved to the state of Washington where he was employed the majority of his adult life by Consolidated Electrical Distributor.
Jerry married Harriet Carey in 1957. To this union were born two children, Gary and Lou Ann. The family later moved to Colorado where numerous friendships were made and maintained. Jerry and his wife enjoyed their affiliation in the Julesburg Christian Fellowship Church.
Jerry retired in 1992. He greatly enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was also known to share his favorite recipes and tease others about his tasty successes.
Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Harriet, affectionately known to all as Ginger; his son, Gary Agee and wife Nita; his daughter Lou Ann (Agee) Knespel and husband John, all of Greeley; two sisters, Norma (Agee) Young of Chillicothe; Peggy (Agee) Engleman and husband, Lloyd J. of Weatherby Lake, Mo.; 10 nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Letha Agee and his niece, Tami Jo Myers.
As per his wishes there was no scheduled service and cremation occurred.
While Jerry’s physical passing is mourned, the spirit of his big smile and infectious laughter remain. Be people of peace and love one another.

Ruth K. James, 82, a resident of Clinton Care Center, Plattsburg, Mo., a former resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Mo.
