BAX

Bertha Elizabeth Bax, 79, Eldon, died Jan. 11, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.

She was born March 7, 1920, in St. Anthony, a daughter of George and Josephine Schaffer Blomberg. She was married Sept. 20, 1938, in St. Anthony, to Henry F. Bax, who died May 1, 1988.

She attended school in St. Anthony and was a resident of the St. Elizabeth area for most of her life.

A homemaker, she worked at Ottenheimer Manufacturing Co., Meta, until her retirement in 1987. She moved to Eldon in 1991.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon, the Altar Society, the church choir, Sacred Heart Quilters, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and Catholic Knights of America.

She was a member of the Silver-Haired Legislature. She was active in the pro-life movement.

Survivors include: four daughters, Delphine Dickneite, St. Anthony, Marcella Kempker and Virginia Kemna, both of  Jefferson City, and Mary Sue Leffler, Indianapolis; four sons, Harold Bax and Roger Bax, both of Mary's Home, Virgil Bax, St. Elizabeth, and Bernard Bax, St. Peters; two sisters, Dorothy Hartnagel, Las Vegas, and Rosalee Buschman, Vienna; 32 grandchildren, one step grandchild, 36 great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

One grandchild preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. James O'Sullivan will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Elizabeth. The Rev. John Degnan will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon, with a rosary and prayer service at 7 p.m.

BOLIN

Maurine P. Bolin, 89, California, died Jan. 11, 2000, at California Care Center.

She was born March 8, 1910, in Moniteau County, a daughter of Charles H. and Cora McCallister Parkes. She was married March 31, 1957, in Kansas City, to Charles Bolin, who preceded her in death.

A member of First Baptist Church, California, she was a secretary for 32 years for the Missouri Division of Health. She was a 1928 graduate of Aurora High School, California

Survivors include: one stepson, Dorsey Bolin, California; two stepdaughters, Shirley Favazza, Kansas City, and Darlene Williams, Summersville, S.C.; two sisters, Mildred Crum, Lincoln, Neb., and Velma Parkes, Alton, Ill.

One stepdaughter, Anna Marie Bolin, and three stepsons, Norman Bolin, Kenneth Bolin and Howard Bolin, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Greg Morrow will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to California Nutrition Center, 107 West Versailles, California, Mo. 65018; or First Baptist Church-Radio Fund, 208 South Oak St., California, Mo. 65018.

BURNER

Ralph E. Burner, 73, Laurie, died Jan. 11, 2000, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

He was born April 15, 1926, in Dawn, a son of Franklin A. and Frances L. Matthews Burner.

A longtime resident of Kansas City, he retired in 1976 and moved to Laurie.

He was a construction worker, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Zack Wheat Post 624 of Sunrise Beach.

Survivors include one sister, Lucille Dakopolos, Laurie, and one brother, Elton Burner, Prairie Village, Kan.

Private services will be at a later date. The remains will be cremated.

Memorials are suggested to the Good Shepherd Care Center, 1101 Clay Road, Versailles, Mo. 65084.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

DORF

Rose Alberta Lambert Dorf, 91, Gerald, died Jan. 8, 2000, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, Washington .

She was born Nov. 11, 1908, in Bloomington, Ill., a daughter of Ed and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Zwirn Lambert. She was married Aug. 13, 1928, in St. Louis, to Luther Glenn Dorf, who died Oct. 11, 1977.

A graduate of Ursline Convent, San Antonio, Texas , she was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Camdenton Senior Citizens' organization.

She had lived in Overland for 23 years before moving to Camdenton in 1968.

She moved to Gerald in 1982.

Survivors include: one son, Anthony Glen "Tony" Dorf, Gerald; two daughters, Rose Ann Frazier, Camdenton, and Mary Juliene Perkins, Florissant; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. The Rev. James Fuemmeler will officiate. Burial will be in Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery, Camdenton.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.

DUDENHOEFFER

Joseph J. Dudenhoeffer, 80,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 11, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born June 5, 1919, in Frankenstein, a son of Joseph M. and Ida Regina Haslag Dudenhoeffer. He was married May 10, 1951, in Bonnots Mill, to Catherine Ann Samson, who died Aug. 31, 1996.

He attended Our Lady of Help Catholic School, Frankenstein. A former resident of Westphalia, he worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a poultry farmer in Loose Creek, Meta and Westphalia for more than 30 years.

He was a custodian for the Missouri Office of Administration for 20 years until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Survivors include: one son, Michael Dudenhoeffer, Westphalia; three daughters, Elaine Himes and Betty Dudenhoeffer, both of  Jefferson City, and Linda Duke, San Antonio, Texas ; four sisters, Margaret Glavin, Chamois, Anna Marie Dudenhoeffer, Frankenstein, Veronica Green, Caseyville, Ill., and Theresia Murphy, St. Ann; three grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

One infant son, Gerald Dudenhoeffer, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. The Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School, Westphalia.

FEY

Herman "Bud" Fey, 65, Holts Summit, died Jan. 10, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born June 12, 1934, in Centralia, Ill., a son of Herman and Marion Edwards Fey. He was married May 19, 1962, in Kingston Mines, Ill., to Janet Smith, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of Jennings High School in Jennings. An independent and union truck driver for 35 years, he was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Tracy Curry, Holts Summit, and Michelle Anne Fey,  Jefferson City; one son, Buffy Fey, of the home; one sister, Clarice Krupp, Owensville; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Holts Summit. Burial will be in Summit Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the Herman Fey Grandchildren's Educational Fund.

GILGER

Ray Gilger, 84, Fulton, died Jan. 10, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

He was born Oct. 5, 1915, in Shelbyville, Mich., a son of William and Loretta Fox Gilger. He was married June 22, 1942, to Genola Phillips Voyles, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran of World War II, he owned and operated a barber shop in Fulton for almost 50 years. He was a member and deacon at Southside Baptist Church, Fulton.

Other survivors include: two sons, Gary Voyles, Fulton, and Norman Voyles,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Loretta Ghandehari, Houston, Texas , and Wilma Jones, Fulton; one brother, Clair Gilger, state of Florida; two sisters, Pansy Gardner and Ruth Near, both of Bellvue, Mich; eight grandchildren, 10 grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Two sons preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Ron Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Lebanon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to Southside Baptist Church.

NEAL

Vina M. Neal, 90, Sunrise Beach, died Jan. 10, 2000, at Independence Regional Health Center, Independence.

She was born Dec. 1, 1909, in Lisle, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Patterson Creager. She was married Sept. 10, 1930, in Harrisonville, to Robert Allen Neal, who died Dec. 23, 1980.

A homemaker, she was a bookkeeper. She also worked at Wards and a furniture store. She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Margaret A. Evans, Independence; one son, Bryan L. Neal, Shawnee, Kan.; five grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Ozark Chapel Cemetery, Laurie.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
