Eva Lefler Bleakley

Eva Lefler Bleakley, daughter of the lat George and Lucy Lee Boatwright Barnes, was born in Lilbourn, Mo., on Dec. 31, 1907, and died at the Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City, Mo., on April 25, 2002, at the age of 94. Mrs. Bleakley had moved from Hayti to Dexter in 1946, where she was a restaurant owner and had also worked at Elder Manufacturing. She has lived in the Pevely/Crystal City areas since 1990, and was affiliated with the Baptist church. On Jan. 20, 1923, she was married to Wilson R. Lefler in New Madrid. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1968. In 1980, she married Ralph Bleakley and he also preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons, Larry Lefler of Ste. Genevieve, Jerry Lefler of Malden and Bill Lefler of Hemet, Calif.; four daughters, Beulah Adams and Betty Sloan, both of Flint, Mich., Dorothy Valek of Hemet, Calif., and June Davis of Pevely; 30 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Louella, two sons, Wilson Lefler, Jr., and Richard Lefgler, and one brother, Edward Barnes. Visitation will be held this evening, Friday, April 26, from 5-8 at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, i the Watkins & Sons Chapel, Dexter, with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Henry Moser

Henry A. Moser of Sikeston, the son of the late John and Della Jagger Moser, was born Feb. 11, 1922 in Wayne County, Tenn. and died April 22, 2002 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 80. Mr. Moser worked at Himmelberger-Harrison Manufacturing Co. for 23 years, was the janitor at the Morehouse Elementary School until retiring in 1984 and was a veteran of the United States Army. On Sept. 24, 1940 he was united in marriage to Goldia Wilson Moser in Bloomfield and she survives of the home in Sikeston. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Sonny Moser of Bloomfield and Wilson 'Butch' Moser of Sikeston; by five daughters, Rita Stallings, Linda Crider and Della Barrick, all of Sikeston, Bobbie Moser of Essex, and Gerry Hinman of Dexter; by 15 grandchildren; by 29 great-grandchildren; and by one great-great-grandchild. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, and one grandchild. Visitation will be held at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston on Wednesday, April 24 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Ponder Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 25 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor of the Sikeston Community Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.

Nina Pennington

Nina M. Pennington, daughter of the late Homer Henson and Leona Widows Henson, was born on March 18, 1924 at New Madrid, Missouri, and died at her home in Bloomfield on Thursday, February 27, 2003, at the age of 78. Mrs. Pennington was of the Baptist Faith, a former employee of Elder Manufacturing Company in Bloomfield and a resident of Bloomfield. She was united in marriage to Bill Pennington in 1970 at Sikeston. Mr. Pennington preceded her in death on September 19, 1984. Survivors include on son, Jasper Pennington of Dexter; by two daughters, Glenda Foreman of Pooler, George and Delores Phillips of Dexter; by two step-sons, Rev. Bill Pennington of Bloomfield and Rev. Jerry Pennington of Puxico; by one step-daughter, Darlene Willard of Cedar Hill; by one sister, Delphia Hugdon of Sikeston; by two grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, elsie Lively, Gladys Baker, Lillian Cox, Charlotte Henson and Emmy Henson. Visitation was held Saturday, March 1 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral in Dexter. Funeral services will be held today, March 2, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.

Jesse Moonier

Jesse Wayne Moonier of Perryville, son of Wayne and Earlinda (Adams) Moonier of Perryville, was born March 31, 2001 at St. Louis and died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at Children's Hospital in St. Louis, at the age of 1. Jesse was baptized in the Catholic Faith. Besides his parents, he is survived by his godparents, Judy L'Homme and Martin Boehringer; his maternal grandparents, Earl and Anna Mae Adams of Dexter; and his paternal grandparents, Elvin "Hap" and Margie Moonier of Perryville. Visitation was held at the Young & Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville, Sunday, April 21 from 4 - 9 p.m. and Monday, April 22 from 6:30 - 9:40 a.m. He was then taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for Mass at 10 a.m. and Catholic Wake at 7 p.m. Interment was held at the Mount Hope Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Fausz C.M. officiating. Young & Sons Funeral Home of Perryville was in charge of arrangements.

James "Greg" Bradford

James "Greg" Bradford of Bloomfield, the son of Rev. Bob Bradford of Arbor and the late Clara Robinson Bradford, was born Sept. 19, 1958 in St. Louis and died April 18, 2002 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 43. Greg was a member of Mt. Zion Walker General Baptist Church near Bloomfield and was a carpenter with Bridger Construction Co. of Sikeston. Survivors include his wife, Lisa Ogelvie Bradford; two sons, Shawn and Matthew Bradford, both of Ellington; two daughters, Crystal Bradford of Ellington and Missy Robinson of Piedmont; one brother, Jeff Bradford of Bloomfield; three sisters, Marsha Williams of Dexter, Diane Holland of Bloomfield and Patricia Slinkard of Dudley; his father, Rev. Bob Bradford; and one grandson. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant sister. Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, April 19. Funeral services will be conducted in the Morgan Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 20 with Rev. Leslie Burchard officiating. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of arrangements.

Annis Clark

Annis Gough Clark, the daughter of Velta Whitehead Gough of Dexter and the late Chester A. Gough, was born on Dec. 29, 1960 at Pontiac, Mich. and died in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa on April 17, 2002 at the age of 41. Mrs. Clark was a secretary in medical records at a hospital in Joy, Ill., where she was a resident. Besides her mother, she is survived by two sons, Benjamin Clark and Christian Clark of North Carolina; by one brother, Gary Gough of Dexter; and by three sisters, Patsy A. Smith of Rockwood, Tenn., Linda S. Gilliam of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Janis Marie Jackson of Hamilton, Mo. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 10:30 - 11 a.m., Saturday, April 20. Funeral services will then be conducted at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at the Bernie Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Wanda Gerline Tuttleton

Wanda Gerline Tuttleton of Malden, the daughter of Charles William and Grace Wiley Orton, was born July 13, 1928 at Mingo, Mo. and died Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, at the age of 73. She was united in marriage to Earl Escow Tuttleton in 1950 at Hayti and he survives. Mrs. Tuttleton was of the Baptist faith. Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Pat Whittall of St. Louis, Nancy Dunn of Maryland Heights, Wanda Lowery and Kathy Winnett, both of Malden; by three sons, Earl Charles Tuttleton of O'Fallon, Jimmy Tuttleton and Randy Tuttleton, both of Malden; by one brother, Charles Orton of Dexter; by 13 grandchildren; and by eight great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Chester Orton, Cledith Orton, Sherman Orton and Johnny Orton; and by one sister, Geneva Tanner. Visitation was held at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden on Thursday, April 18 at 6 p.m. Funeral services were conducted, today, Friday, April 19 at 2 p.m. in the Bradshaw Chapel with Rev. Joe Williams and Rev. John Bowly officiating. Interment followed at Rosewood Cemetery in Malden with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden in charge of arrangements.

Armor Roy

Armor Newton Roy of Advance, son of the late John Wesley Roy and Francis Elizabeth Greer Roy, was born Sept. 2, 1922 at Bald Knob, Ark. and died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 79. Mr. Roy was a set-up man for General Motors/AC Spark Plug in Flint, Mich. before retiring. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and did missionary work in Kenya and Capetown, South Africa. On Nov. 17, 1942 he was united in marriage to Geneva Wansitler Roy, she survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by one brother, Wilburn Roy of Marble Hill and one sister, Jessie Jones of Florida. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Visitation was held, today, Friday, April 19 at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance after 10 a.m. Funeral services followed at 11 a.m. in the Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clifton Trentham officiating. Interment was at the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of arrangements.
