A Memorial Gathering for Leonard Clement Schulte, 75, of Winfield, was held from 2 - 6 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
Mr. Schulte passed away Thursday morning, November 5, 2009, at his home near Winfield.
Born July 9, 1934 in Old Monroe, he was the son of George William and Catherine Caroline Dreisewerd Schulte. He was raised in the Old Monroe community and lived most of his life in southern Lincoln County. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1959. He was united in marriage on February 4, 1961 in Old Monroe to Diane Gladys Graeff. This union was blessed with three children: Kevin, Kenneth and Cindy. He worked for many years as a union commercial plumber for PED (Plumbing Engineering Design) and Murphy, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Plumbers Local #562 in St. Louis. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed duck hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Diane Schulte, of Winfield; two sons: Kevin Schulte and his wife, Brenda, and their children Danielle and Zachariah, of Troy, and Kenneth Schulte and his daughter Samantha, of Paris; and one daughter, Cindy Creech and her husband, Clay, and their children, Emily and Hunter, of Keytesville. He also leaves four brothers and their wives: Allen and Brenda Schulte, of Old Monroe, James and Carole Schulte, of Winfield, Herbert and Lou Schulte of Old Monroe and Eugene and Carol Schulte also of Old Monroe; one sister, Mary Lou Schulte of Old Monroe; two sisters-in-law: Elaine Schulte, of Winfield, and Elsie Schulte, of Troy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the Autism Foundation in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.

Elizabeth Jane (Betty) Wegener of Troy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Nov. 6, 2009, at the age of 81.
Betty is survived by Arlie H. Wegener of Troy, her husband of 62 years; her children: Barbara DuNard, of Hawk Point, Glenn Wegener and wife, Becky, of Troy, and Wanda Galloway and husband, Dan of Hannibal. Also survived by her grandchildren: Sean DuNard, Rachel McCall and husband, Chris, Nikki Watts and husband, Ross, Jonathan Wegener and wife, Morgan, Rob Galloway and wife, Meryle, and 10 great grandchildren. She was a sister to Kenneth LaRue and wife, Faye, of Troy and is further survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Those who knew Betty will remember her for her active role in farming. She was also involved in her community and civic activities, including 4-H and PTA. Betty had been an area supervisor of World Book Encyclopedia. She was an active member of the Christian Community Center.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov.9, 2009, at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home, Troy. Interment followed in the Troy City Cemetery, Troy.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home, 1304 Boone St., Troy. Memorials may be made to the Christian Community Center or Bread for Life Food Pantry, c/o the funeral home.

Funeral services for Allen Dale Riefle, 58, of Elsberry, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at the Elsberry United Methodist Church in Elsberry. Rev. Paul Garven, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery.
Mr. Riefle, 58, died Thursday afternoon, November 26, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital-West in Lake Saint Louis.
Born August 16, 1951 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Harold Frank and Beatrice Maxine Masters Riefle. He was a 1969 graduate of Elsberry High School. He was united in marriage on August 6, 1977 in Elsberry to Paula Susan Pratt. This union was blessed with three daughters: Danielle, Rachel and Cheri.
Mr. Riefle was employed for the past 34 years at Drug Package in O'Fallon, MO where he was a printing supervisor.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 32 years, Paula Riefle, of Elsberry; their daughters, Danielle Riefle, of Elsberry, Rachel Turner and her husband, Josh, of Elsberry, and Cheri Riefle, of Elsberry; and two grandchildren, Eli and Reese Turner. He also leaves one brother, Harold F. Riefle, Jr. and his wife, Thelma, of Cahokia, Ill.; one sister, Donna Turnbull and her husband, Roy, of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2009, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
Memorials may be made to the Family of Allen Riefle or the Elsberry United Methodist Church in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.

Mr. William "Bill" Benhardt Jr., 68, of Troy, passed away on Thursday, November. 26, 2009, at his residence.
He was born on April 6, 1941 in St. Louis, a son of William and Dorothy (Reamer) Benhardt Sr. Bill grew up with a brother, Robert and a sister, Barbara.
Following his formal education, he began working at a golf course and later for a landscaping company. On Feb. 10, 1962, he married his sweetheart, Judy Hermann. They had met on a blind date. The couple were blessed with two children: Pam and Bill. In 1969, the Benhardt family moved to Troy and 10 years later opened Snow Hill Nursery. The family business continues in operation today.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Judy Benhardt of Troy; his daughter, Pam McNicholas and husband, Dan, of Florissant; his son, Bill Benhardt and wife, Sue, of Troy; his mother, Dorothy Benhardt, of Lake Saint Louis; one brother, Robert Benhardt and wife, Carla, of Lake Saint Louis; one sister, Barbara Moloney and husband, Michael, of Crown Point, Ind.; five grandchildren, Wendy, Will, Sam, Ben, and Jack; many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Troy. Officiating will be the Rev. Darrell Alley.

Jose Juan Jimenez Garcia (Punky), 35, of Troy passed away on Monday, November 23, 2009.
He was born December 2, 1973 in Mexico City, Mexico; a son of Baleriano Jimenez and Maria Luisa Garcia.
Jose enjoyed collecting salt water fish and fishing just in general.
He was employed for Bliss American Stone Art and recently for 9 1/2 years for Bodine Aluminum, Inc. in Troy.
He is survived by his wife, Laurel McPike Jimenez, of Troy; significant other, Tamra Roberson, of Foley; one son, Alexander Jose Jimenez, of Foley; four step daughters, Patricia Roberson, Amber Roberson, Courtney (Squirrel) Roberson, of Foley, and Karina McPike of Troy, Missouri; two step sons, Diego McPike and Shane McPike, of Troy; siblings, Leticia Jimenez Garcia, Mayra Jimenez Garcia, Martin Jimenez Garcia, Gilberto Jimenez Rosas, Raul Jimenez Rosas, Ivon Aumada Garcia and Jose Carlos Aumada Garcia, all of Mexico City, Mexico; best friend, Ruben Gaspariano and Armando Hernandes, many friends and family.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood with Father Chuck Tichacek officiating.
Visitation was held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home/ Troy Chapel. Burial will be in the country of Mexico.

Funeral services for Clara Belle Corum, 88, of Kankakee, IL, formerly of Elsberry, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 27, 2009, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Tom Zych, of O'Fallon, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry.
Ms. Corum, 88, died Monday afternoon, November 23, 2009 at Provena Heritage Village in Kankakee.
Born January 12, 1921 in Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of Oscar and Nellie E. Norton Guinn. She was a 1939 graduate of Paynesville High School.
Ms. Corum worked for several years as a seamstress for various garment factories in the local area.
Survivors include one son, Larry Corum and his wife, Susan, of Bourbonnais, IL; three grandchildren: Harry Corum and his wife, Denae, of Oceanside, CA, Dan Corum of Bourbonnais and Stephanie Most and her husband, Joe, of Ashkum, IL; and four great-grandchildren: Alexis, Ciara, Joey and BreeAnn Most. She also leaves one sister, Mary Dixon of Bradley, IL; several other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, November 27, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.

Mary Pauline (Colbert) Foster, of Lake St. Louis, formerly of Troy, passed away on Nov. 20 at the age of 79.
Born March 14, 1930, she was a homemaker. She married Layo Foster on Sept. 16, 1950. To this union two children were born: Paula and Brenda.
She is survived by her daughters, Paula Harmon, of South Carolina, and Brenda Evans, of Lake St. Louis; her sister-in-law, Erna Brown, of Kirkwood; and her mother-in-law, Alice Foster, of Kirkwood.
A memorial service will be held on Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at Harvester Nazarene Church, located at 3115 McClay Rd. in St. Peters.
Memorial donations may be made to Harvester Nazarene Church or the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services for Vivian Kay "Bea" Hall, 73, of Troy, formerly of Elsberry, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. David Rispoli, Chaplain for AmHeart Hospice, officiated with burial in New Hope Cemetery near Elsberry.
Mrs. Hall, 73, died Friday morning, November 20, 2009 at Troy Manor in Troy.
Born October 23, 1936, in Elsberry, she was the daughter of Orval William "Hop" and Mary Virginia Beck Austin. She was a lifelong resident of the Elsberry area before becoming a resident at Troy Manor. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Elsberry.
Survivors include one son, Sherman Hughbanks and his wife, Kathy, of Conroe, TX; one daughter, Sheila Hull and her husband, Daniel, of Troy; four grandchildren: Jamie Hull and his wife, Amanda, of Troy, Angie Nuber and her husband, Frank, Jr., of Troy, Chris Hughbanks of Florida, and Sheilia Hughbanks of Bowling Green; and seven great-grandchildren: Aryana Hull, Derek and Conner Nuber, and Darian, Raven, Providence and Stacey Hughbanks. She also leaves one sister-in-law, Lil Austin of Troy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2009, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
