Irene Catherine Schumacher McGowan (70) of St. Louis, Missouri died Monday, April 16, 2012 at her home in Wentzville, Missouri. Born March 12, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was married June 29, 1963 and is survived by her husband Donald McGowan, Sr. She was the daughter of the late Lorraine Conrad and Olinda Marie (Hartmann) Schumacher. She is survived by four children; two sons and two daughters, Don (Sharon) McGowan, Jr. of Friendswood, Texas; Joe (Theresa) McGowan of Washington, Missouri; Jill Hatfield McGowan of St. Louis, Missouri and Amy (Scott) Rendel of St. Louis, Missouri; seven grandchildren Amanda McGowan, Margaret McGowan, Holly McGowan, Caroline McGowan, Matthew McGowan, Raymond McGowan and Henry McGowan. She is survived by one sister, Margaret Kiely of St. Louis, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by five sisters Marie Shrout, Ann Newbold, Helen Moore, Rose Grysiewicz and Ruth O'Dowd; five brothers-in-law Robert Shrout, Herbert Moore II, John Kiely, James O'Dowd, and John Newbold. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was homemaker and devoted volunteer. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wentzville, Missouri and St. Norbert‘s Catholic Church in Florissant, Missouri.
