Bouse, Wilma B.

Wilma B. Bouse of Leasburg, MO passed away on Friday, September 5, 2008 at the age of 84 years.

Wilma was born on April 7, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert and Berdie E. (Gent) Meador, one of eight children. She married George E. Bouse on July 30, 1944 in Potosi. She played the piano for many years at her church, Leasburg Assembly of God, where she was a life long member. She loved music, but loved her family, especially her grandchildren, even more. She enjoyed flowers, cooking for her family, and especially Sunday dinners.

Wilma is survived by 8 children, Wilma F. Phares and husband Homer of Potosi, Robert E. Bouse and wife Janet of Leasburg, George Phillip Bouse and wife Mary of Bourbon, John D. Bouse and wife Lori of Liberty, MO, Michael L. Bouse and wife Judy of Leasburg, Mary E. Gregory and husband Mike of Nebraska, Steven W. Bouse of Leasburg, and Janette R. Riggs and husband John of Arkansas; 31 grandchildren; 50+ great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Robert, David, and Danny Meador of Oklahoma and Eugene of Ohio; sisters, Christine Parmer of Oklahoma and Naomi Smith of Bourbon, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jack Meador, and her husband.

Funeral services for Wilma Bouse were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2008 in the Leasburg Assembly of God Church with Pastor Donald Vaughn officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home.

Breen, Jacquelyn Ruth

Jacquelyn Ruth Breen from Chicago, IL, returned to the Lord's arms on September 24, 2008 after a courageous struggle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her friends and family in Sullivan, Missouri. Jacquelyn (Jackie) was born on February 17, 1954 in St. Louis, MO, to the late John and Myrl (Block) Breen. She was raised in St. Louis and lived in the family home in Bourbon, MO, for only a few years after high school in the 1970's. Jackie was baptized in 1965 at St. Ceril Catholic Church in Centerville, IL. She enlisted and served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. After serving in the Air Force, she moved to Chicago, IL, where she raised her two children, Jacques Breen and Jill Breen.

Jackie was known by all as an independent, loving woman who loved unicorns, butterflies, art, music, painting, drawing, dancing and living in Chicago. She was preceded in death by her father, John P. Breen, sister Deborah Breen, sister in law Tracey (Ruwwe) Breen, nephews: Eric Breen, Travis and Trevor Stroup and grandparents: Margie and Jim Christopher, Fred and Gertrude Block.

Jackie is survived by her two children, Jillian Breen of Columbia, MO, Jacques Breen of Bourbon, MO, and three grandchildren Ariana Figliolo, Isaiah Bertrand, and Jacques Breen. She is also survived by her mother, Myrl Breen of Bourbon, MO, siblings, Marcia Loveless of St. Genevieve, MO, John Breen of Sullivan, MO, Pat Breen and wife Sharon of Steelville, MO, Denise Dickey and husband Steve of Sullivan, MO, Mary Bouse and husband Chuck of Bourbon, MO, Maureen Chlipala and husband Mike of Sullivan, MO, Janice Crews and husband John of Richmond, VA, Robert Breen and wife Jane of Columbia, MO, many family members and many special friends.

Funeral services were held on September 27, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Church with Father Dennis Zacheis presiding. Graveside services followed at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Bourbon, MO. In lieu of flowers the family requests the option of donations towards a fund for her grandchildren at the Bank of Sullivan. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.

Breen, Thomas Edward

Thomas Edward Breen of Bourbon, Missouri passed away at his home on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the age of 68 years.

Tom was born February 6, 1940 at Perryville, Missouri to John Henry and Margaret Knopp (Christopher) Breen. He was raised in St. Louis and later in the Leasburg, Missouri area. Tom was an over-the-road driver in commercial trucking for over 15 years. He enjoyed the river and fishing and was known as an individual who gave of himself to others more than he thought of himself.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Witt of Sullivan, Missouri; two step-daughters, Gail Witt of Sullivan and Cindy Smith of Gerald, Missouri; one brother, William Breen of Rolla, Missouri; six sisters, Margaret Ryan of Florissant, Missouri, Rosemary Mueller of St. Louis, Betty Siefert of St. Louis, Joan Breese of Bourbon, Missouri, Cathy Miller of Rolla, Missouri and Colleen Fenander of the state of Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Alexandria and Trevor Witt; a special friend Elizabeth Day of Bourbon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, John Patrick Breen and a sister, Eileen Biggins.

Private memorial funeral services will be conducted at a future date by the family. Cremation services were provided by the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in the name of Thomas Edward Breen.

Bridges, Julius Hospin

Julius Hospin Bridges, age 86, of Sullivan, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville, IL. He was born on January 10, 1922 in Coldwater, MO, the son of the late Walter and Grace Stevens Bridges. He married Mary Alice Waller on May 17, 1945.

He is survived by his wife, his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Resa Bridges, of Glen Carbon, IL, and two grandchildren, Charis and Andrew Bridges.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Steve (Junior) Bridges, and two sons, Steven Louis Bridges and Keith Allison Bridges.

Mr. Bridges worked for Meramec Mines as a machinist until "retirement" when he opened his own shop, Precision Machine. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.

Funeral Services were on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 11:00a.m., at Temple Baptist Church. Burial was at St. Francois Memorial Cemetery in Bonne Terre, MO at 2:30p.m.

Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Bristow, Johnny F.

Johnny F. Bristow of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the age of 69 years.

He was born on January 23, 1939 in Caseyville, MO to Charles Robert and Opal Mae (Record) Bristow. Johnny worked many years for Christian Board Printing Company as a printer until the closing of the company. He worked various other jobs until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

Johnny is survived by one son, Jeffrey Bristow and wife Dawn of Japan, MO; two daughters, Tanya Rapp and husband Bill of Japan, MO and Jill Hagedorn and husband Rick of Sullivan, MO; nine grandchildren, Rachael, Jenny, Brooke, Brian, Mandy, Melissa, Alaina, Megan, and Max; two step-grandchildren, Phillip and Rachel; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kaylie, Alexis, Reya, and Addison; two sisters, Dorothy Morris of Forsyth, MO, Rosemary Harris and husband Jim of Salem, MO; one half-sister, Shirley Keogh and husband Lee of Sullivan, MO; nieces, nephews, and a very special friend, Pamela Nugent. He was preceded in death by his parents; two half-brothers and a half-sister.

Funeral Services for Johnny Bristow were conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the time of service. Interment followed at Old Argo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested expressions of sympathy to go to the Old Argo Cemetery Fund.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Brodecker, Mavarene

Mavarene Brodecker of Sullivan, Missouri formerly of Boaz, Alabama passed away at the St. Clair Nursing Center, St. Clair, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 14 days.

She is survived by three daughters; Jody Elliott and husband John, Kim Hinson all of Sullivan, Missouri and Dalena Scholl and husband David of Stanton, Missouri; one sister, Linda Rogerson of Boaz, Alabama; one brother Doc Kilpatrick of Big Spring, Texas; 6 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2008 in Union Cemetery, Boaz, Alabama under the direction of Carr Funeral Home, Boaz, Alabama.

Brown, Virginia M.

Virginia Mary Brown formerly of Stanton, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the age of 90 years.

Virginia was born at Saint Louis, Missouri on July 13, 1917 to the late John and Helen (Menard) Caffrey. She was raised and lived in the Saint Louis area until 1973 when she and her husband moved to the Sullivan/Stanton area. On December 28, 1935 she was united in marriage to Garland Brown and to this marriage two daughters were born. Mr. Brown preceded Virginia in death in 1992. In her early years, Virginia was employed at the Bussman Fuse Company but for the most part was a dedicated housewife and mother. Virginia was fond of cooking and gardening. She also enjoyed quilting with her many friends at Saint Matthew’s Lutheran Church where she was a devoted member for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Ann Margrabe and husband Larry of Florissant, Missouri and Marilyn Britt and husband Mike of Pasadena Hills, Missouri; a sister, Thelma Caffrey of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Bethany Tague and husband Matthew, Michael Britt and wife Julie, Melinda and Stephen Margrabe; five great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Sean, Andrew, Colin and Daniel; and niece, Helen Eckelberry and husband Jack; other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Duncan, Winnie Proske and Annabelle Bedrosian.

Funeral services were conducted 12 noon Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from Saint Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Sullivan with Pastor Tim McCarty officiating. Interment was in Stanton Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Judevine Center for Autism, 1101 Olivette Executive Parkway, St. Louis, Missouri 63132.

Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.

Browney, Effie E.

Effie E. Browney, of Lancaster, CA passed away on October 9, 2008 at the age of 87 years.

She was preceded in death by, George, William, James, Walter and Leo Caldwell, Edith Sutherland, Mabel Phillips, Myrtle Steele and Sarah Ann Caldwell. Effie is survived by her daughter Katherine Cali of Lancaster, California, nieces, nephews, David and Bob Caldwell other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO with interment in Reedville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the Eaton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting donations to Hoffman Hospice.

Bryan, Patricia E.

Patricia E. Bryan of Sullivan, Missouri passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis County on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the age of 64 years, six months and 3 days.

Mrs. Bryan was born July 29, 1943 at East St. Louis, Illinois to Ethel E. (Hackmann) Davis Holcomb and the late Earl Oscar Davis. From the second grade until late high schools days, Patricia lived in New Baden, Illinois. She returned to East St. Louis and graduated there in her senior year. On August 18, 1979 she was united in marriage to Johnie Bryan at Collinsville, Illinois. She became employed for various law enforcement agencies throughout West Central Illinois and later became a case worker for the Division of Family Services in Illinois. When she and Johnie moved to Sullivan, she later became employed with Social Services in Union, Missouri as a case worker. Patricia was known as one who had a wonderful sense of humor and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her family meant everything to her and she enjoyed fishing and camping with them. Patricia was also an excellent bowler and set many records in the local leagues.

She is survived by her husband Johnie of the family home; one son, Kevin Tucker and wife Vickie of Bourbon, Missouri; one daughter , Cheryl Tucker-Tougas and husband Claude of Villa Ridge, Missouri; her mother, Ethel Holcomb of Sullivan; three step-sons, David, James and Robert Bryan all of the state of Indiana; four grandchildren, Joshua Tucker, Victoria Brautigam, Allison Brautigam and Brett McKnight; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from the Southside Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, with Phil Tolliver and Ron Spurgeon officiating. Interment was in National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. In lieu of flowers the family suggests expressions of sympathy be made to ALS or Diabetes Association.
