SIMMERS
Harold Ray Simmers, 53, California, died Feb. 22, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 16, 1946, in Boonville, a son of Truman L. and Rosie Katherine McDaniel Simmers.
He was a 1966 graduate of Tipton High School and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near Clarksburg.
He is survived by one brother, Robert Simmers, Clarksburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. The Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday.

THORP
Robert Leslie Thorp, 75, Fulton, died Feb. 22, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 2, 1924, in Fulton, a son of Homer and Geneva Morris Thorp. He was married Sept. 8, 1941, in Mexico, to Mary Ann Halley, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he worked as a truck driver for Contract Mail Carrier.
He is also survived by one sister, Mary Frances Davis, Fulton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Ted Harrison will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
WILSON
Viola S. Wilson, 82, Versailles, died Feb. 22, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 8, 1917, in Versailles, a daughter of Benjamin R. and Rose Stella Wilson Silvey. She was married March 5, 1941, to Roy E. Wilson, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Versailles.
Other survivors include: two sons, Rickie Shelton and Ron Shelton, both of Versailles; two brothers, Lloyd Silvey, Versailles, and Elmer Silvey, Independence; and one granddaughter.
An infant son, Donnie Wilson, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Roy Bennett will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
BARNETT
Edmond Austin Barnett, 95, Iberia, died Feb. 24, 2000, at Miller County Care Center.
He was born Sept. 4, 1904, in Miller County, a son of Edmund and Jeanette "Nettie" Thomas Barnett. He was married Nov. 30, 1922, near Iberia, to Polly Ponder, who died Oct. 17, 1989.
He was a farmer and a lifetime resident of Miller County. He was a member of Brays Advent Christian Church near Iberia, where he taught Sunday school for 55 years and was an honorary lifetime first elder. He was a charter member and honorary lifetime member of the Iberia Saddle Club.
Survivors include: two sons, Edward Barnett and Buster Barnett, both of Iberia; two daughters, Mary Lou Cross, Brooksville, Fla., and Dola Shepherd, Foristell; one brother, Glenn Barnett, Willow Springs; two sisters, Myrtle Wilson, Iberia, and Lucy Williams, St. Louis; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
One grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brays Advent Christian Church. The Rev. Earl Skidds will officiate. Burial will be in Tyler Cemetery near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.
REED
William "Bill" Reed, 85, Climax Springs, died Feb. 23, 2000, at his home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1914, in Jennings, La., a son of Arba L. Sr. and Amy Voldeters Reed. He was married Nov. 26, 1944, in Jennings, to Janice M. Brady, who died Jan. 2, 1983. He was married Dec. 14, 1985, in Climax Springs, to Othella Yates Smith, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran, he was a farmer and was a member of Freedom Church of Christ.
Survivors include: two daughters, Annalois Pittman, The Colony, Texas , and Amy Grace Smalley, Sacramento, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Pamala List, Mount Airy, Md., and Pattie Zirklebach, Boonville; one stepson, Paul Smith, Columbia; two brothers, Arba Reed Jr. and John Reed, both of Jennings; and two sisters, Marjorie LeJuern and Frances Reed, both of Jennings; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Mose Clark Cemetery, Climax Springs, with military honors provided by Fort Leonard Wood.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

SCHUBERT
Walter A. Schubert, 89, California, died Feb. 24, 2000, at California Care Center.
He was born June 8, 1910, in Cole County, a son of Henry F. and Elenora Viesman Schubert. He was married Jan. 8, 1942, in Stringtown, to Helen Scheperle, who died Aug. 20, 1990.
A veteran of World War II, he farmed and worked for Fischer Manufacturing, Tipton. He was a member of California VFW Post 4345, Lutheran Lehman League, and the Aid Association for Lutherans.
Survivors include: one son, David Schubert, California; three sisters, Louise Anderson, Dorothy Mueller and Mabel Schubert, all of Jefferson City; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, California. Peter M. Kurowski will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens, Jefferson City.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.

STOCKSICK
Lorraine Elizabeth Stocksick, 75, Centertown, died Feb. 24, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born March 26, 1924, in St. Louis, a daughter of August and Drucilla Aubushon Bloemer. She was married Aug. 12, 1941, in St. Louis, to Clarence Vincent Stocksick, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Martin Catholic Church.
Other survivors include: two sons, Ronald C. Stocksick, Florissant, and Kenneth P. Stocksick, Centertown; two sisters, Bernice Gibbons, Lake St. Louis, and Joyce Cheatum, Riverview Gardens; one brother, Harold Bloemer, Defiance; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at St. Martin Catholic Church. The Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martin Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
STRATMAN
Edward S. Stratman, 77, Vienna, died Feb. 24, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born March 26, 1922, in Maries County, a son of John and Bertha Bauer Stratman. He was married to Vera Stratman, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of Vienna, he was employed as a maintenance foreman with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department for 39 years until his retirement in 1984.
He was a member of Visitation Church, Vienna, and VFW Post 8045, Argyle. He had served with the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Carol Bauer and Donna Hayes, both of Vienna; four brothers, Herbert Stratman, Harold Stratman and Charles Stratman, all of Freeburg, and James Stratman, Vienna; three sisters, Viola Chambers, Vienna, Mary Catherine McKinnon, Dixon, and Irene Kampeter, Florissant; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Visitation Church. The Rev. John Schmitz will officiate. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery, Vienna.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Kordes Funeral Home, Vienna, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
THOMPSON
Mary Leona Thompson, 88, California, died Feb. 24, 2000, at Moniteau Care Center.
She was born July 11, 1911, in Lupus, a daughter of Houston H. and Hester Mae Hutchison Hampton. She was married Jan. 15, 1929, in California, to Adam S. Thompson, who survives in California.
A homemaker, she was of the Methodist faith.
Other survivors include: one son, Jarrett Thompson, Jamestown; two daughters, Marie Zaugg, Boonville, and Alene Miller, Jamestown; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, three step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy June Thompson, and one grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial will be in Pettigrew Cemetery, north of Jamestown.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
