KOFFKEY
Roy Eugene Koffkey, 72, Jefferson City, died April 12, 2000, at Oak View Living Center.
He was born June 27, 1927, in Cole County, a son of John C. and Rose Jane Cain Koffkey. He was married in May 1966 in Jefferson City to Beverly Frances Phelps.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he attended Schumate Chapel Road School and was a member of Capitol West Christian Church. He was employed at Tweedies Footwear Corporation and as an auto mechanic and truck driver.
Other survivors include: one daughter, N. Roseann Boehm, Jefferson City; one sister, Anna Mae Maire, Eldon; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
BUSCHJOST
Herbert J. Buschjost, 82, St. Thomas, died April 13, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 19, 1917, in St. Thomas, a son of Herman J. and Anna Borgmeyer Buschjost. He was married Nov. 20, 1945, in St. Thomas, to Lucy Elesabeth Loethen, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he worked in construction.
He was a dairy, cattle and grain producer for 40 years, receiving the Cole County Farmer Award several times before retiring in the late 1980s.
He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Thomas, where he served as president of the parish council and picnic chairman.
He was a member of the Holy Name Sodality and St. Thomas Over Fifty Club.
He was a member and honor guard in the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus St. Jude's Assembly, and a 50-year member of St. Thomas Knights of Columbus.
He served on the board of the St. Thomas Elderly Housing Committee for 20 years.
He was a board member of St. Elizabeth Care Center and Cole R-2 School District, and served with the St. Thomas Cemetery Association.
Other survivors include: one son, Robert Anthony Buschjost, St. Thomas; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Markway, Eldon, and Jane Marie Green, Jefferson City; one brother, Ernie Buschjost, St. Thomas; one sister, Eleanor Rodeman, Wardsville; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. The Rev. Don Antweiler will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:30-8 p.m. today at St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall, with a senior citizen rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church or Masses.
O'DONLEY
Lola Christine O'Donley, 77, Kingdom City, died April 13, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born March 14, 1923, in Salem, Ill., a daughter of Samuel and Effie Easley Parker. She was married Sept. 16, 1939, in St. Louis, to Clifford O'Donley, who died Sept. 18, 1993.
A resident of the Kingdom City-McCredie area since 1950, she farmed. She was a member of McCredie United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Clifford R. O'Donley and Ronald W. O'Donley, both of Kingdom City; three daughters, Peggy S. Crawford, Mexico, and L. Kay Smith and Judith A. Fenley, both of Toms River, N.J.; one sister, Eileen Armstrong, Phoenix; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Mike Eighmy will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to McCredie United Methodist Church.
SNELSON
Robert Lee Snelson, 54, Lake Ozark, died April 11, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.
He was born Jan. 18, 1946, in Sligo, a son of Morris and Blanche Grogan Snelson. His mother, Blanche Wofford, survives in Salem.
A retail boat salesman, he lived in the Lake area since 1991.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lisa Nothaus, Rolla; one brother, Mack Snelson, Steelville; and two granddaughters.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sligo Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the trust fund for his granddaughters.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.
TILLY
Eduard F. Tilly, 102, Morrison, died April 13, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born July 16, 1897, in Morrison, a son of Eduard F. and Louise Heemeier Tilly. He was married April 15, 1925, in Fredericksburg, to Anna Edna Eikermann, who survives at the home.
He was a farmer. He was a former member of Fredericksburg Church, where he sang in the youth choir and served on the church board. He was a past member of the Lehigh School Board.
Other survivors include: one son, Daniel Tilly, Morrison; one grandson, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Chamois. The Rev. Deborah Pope will officiate. Burial will be in Fredericksburg Cemetery, Morrison.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, Morrison.
Memorials are suggested to Fredericksburg Cemetery or St. John's United Church of Christ.
STURGIS
Julia Rachelle Sturgis, 31, Jefferson City, died April 11, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 5, 1968, in St. Louis, a daughter of John R. and Mary Janice Benedict Sturgis. Her father survives in Lebanon. Her mother survives in Jefferson City.
A 1987 graduate of Jefferson City High School and a 1989 Linn State Technical College graduate, she worked as a supervisor with Sonitrol Security. She was a member of the California Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Other survivors include: one sister, Janice Morris, St. Louis; and three brothers, John Sturgis, Davenport, Iowa, and Max Sturgis and Paul Sturgis, both of Jefferson City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Jefferson City. Don Schreimann will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
GIBBS
Glenn E. Gibbs, 69, Eldon, died April 13, 2000, at his home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Festus, a son of Charles A. and Mattie Alma Booth Gibbs. He was married Sept. 17, 1955, in Festus, to Ella Mae McClanahan, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he owned and operated Redwoods Resort, Rocky Mount, and was a member of the VFW.
Other survivors include: one son, Bruce Edward Gibbs, Eldon; one daughter, Lisa Marie Prater, Rocky Mount; one brother, Norville Gibbs, DeSoto; one sister, Lorraine Huber, Festus; and five grandchildren.
One son, Mark Edward Gibbs, preceded him in death.
Private services will be at a later date. The body has been cremated.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
SHEWARD
Cynthia A. Sheward, 45, Jefferson City, died April 14, 2000, at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Columbia.
She was born May 31, 1954, in Hammond, Ind., a daughter of Dwight P. and Marilyn L. Burdette Millikan. Her mother survives in Cincinnati.
A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, she received a master's in education from Lincoln University. She was a special education teacher for 20 years, teaching in Houston, Mo., Springfield, Blair Oaks and Columbia.
She attended First Baptist Church, Jefferson City.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Holly Renee Sheward, of the home; one son, Philip Neal Sheward, of the home; and one brother, Dwight Millikan, Cincinnati.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Doyle Sager will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
