CALLIS
Services were Saturday for Bruce Callis, 59, Bloomington, Ill., who died March 24, 1999, at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, Ill.
He was born Dec. 4, 1939, in Sedalia, a son of George and Jo Smith Callis. His father survives in Boonville. He was married Nov. 14, 1959, to Nancy Williams, who survives at the home.
He attended Westminster College, Fulton, and graduated from the University of Missouri. He served as a trustee for Illinois Wesleyan University and as president of the Illinois Wesleyan Association for eight years.
He was a State Farm Insurance executive and was active in local community and civic causes and politics. He was chairman of the McLean County Republican Central Committee for 13 years and he was a member of the McLean County Board for six years. He also served on the board of directors for McLean County Chamber of Commerce and Brokaw Hospital.
He served on the board of the Women's Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame and the State Farm LPGA Rail Charity Classic. He was a member of the board of directors of State Farm General Insurance Company, State Farm Life and Accident Assurance Company, State Farm Annuity and Life Insurance Company, State Farm International Services and the State Farm Companies Foundation. He was an underwriter for State Farm Lloyds Inc.
He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, where he served as a trustee and elder.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Cheryl Palus, Collinsville, Ill., and Kim Ready, Bloomington; one son, Kevin Callis, Springfield, Ill.; two brothers, Jim Callis, Jefferson City, and Trigg Callis, Hallsville; and four grandchildren.
Services were at Second Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Philip D. Queen officiated. Burial was in Funk's Grove Cemetery, McLean.
Arrangements were under the direction of Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington.
FRAVEL
Barry Lynn Fravel, 56, Fulton, died March 27, 1999, at his home.
He was born May 10, 1942, in Knox County, Ind., a son of James and Henrietta Smith Fravel. His mother survives in Fulton. He was married June 4, 1966, to Norine Gagen, who preceded him in death. He was married July 17, 1989, to Gayla Heinlein, who survives at the home.
An Air Force veteran, he moved to Callaway County in 1978.
He was employed with Union Electric Company for 32 years and retired from the Callaway Nuclear Plant in 1997.
He also raised Murray Gray cattle.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Tracy Massa, Columbia, and Terry Gagne, Omaha, Neb.; one sister Sharon Doench, Evansville, Ind.; and one grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Bob Guese will officiate. Burial will be in Boydsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
GOODRICH
Patricia Goodrich, 66, Gold Canyon, Ariz., formerly of Jefferson City, died March 21, 1999, at her home.
She was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Eli and Eleanor Axon. Her mother survives in Jefferson City. She was married in 1954, in Jefferson City, to Philo W. Goodrich Jr., who survives at the home.
She graduated from Jefferson City public schools in 1951 and attended Park College, Parkville. She co-owned and co-operated a furniture store in Berlin, Wis.
She was a member Federated Church, Berlin, where she served as organist and choir director. She served in the Wisconsin Legislature from 1974-1985. She was Secretary of Health and Human Resources for the state of Wisconsin from 1988 until her retirment in 1991.
Other survivors include: three sons, Phillip Goodrich, Eugene, Ore., Jim Goodrich, Long Beach, Calif., and John Goodrich, Madison, Wis.; one brother, David Axon, Overland Park, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
Services and burial will be June 12 in Berlin.
Arrangements are under the direction of Family Burial, Mesa, Ariz.

HAUENSTEIN
Ken "Honey Man" Hauenstein, 78, Eldon, died March 27, 1999, at Eldon Healthcare Center.
He was born June 17, 1920, in Miller County, a son of William H. and Ethel Susan Moles Hauenstein. He was married in 1941, in Tacoma, Wash., to Coral Lee Winder, who survives at the home.
He was a self-employed mill wright/carpenter and farmed for 10 years. A member of the Carpenter's Union, he worked on the Bagnell Dam and Callaway Nuclear Power Plant. He farmed for 10 years. He raised bees and supplied honey in the Lake area.
He was a member of the C.C.C., the VFW, DAV and the First Assembly of God Church, Tuscumbia.
Other survivors include: three sons, William D. Hauenstein, Kansas City, Dallas Quince Hauenstein, Sicily, Italy, and Kevin B. Von Hauenstein, Strafford; four sisters, Elizabeth Walton, Camdenton, Lucille Harbison, Kansas City, Kan., Phyliss Hall, Eldon, and Billie Sue Gilmore, Columbia, Ill.; one brother, Russell Hauenstein, Mission, Texas ; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church, Tuscumbia. The Rev. Barry Eisenhart and the Rev. Marvin Witt will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
KRAMP
Louis Arthur "Bud" Kramp, 80, Jefferson City, died March 29, 1999, at his home.
He was born July 3, 1918, in Callaway County, a son of Louis A. and Agnes Stoll Kramp. He was married Dec. 29, 1943, in Jefferson City, to Venita Teresa Kiesling, who died April 21, 1997.
He attended Pleasant Ridge School, Callaway County, and was an Army veteran of World War II. A self-employed plumber, he owned and operated Kramp Plumbing Co. for more than 50 years until his retirement.
He was a member of Central United Church of Christ, VFW Post 1003 and American Legion Post 5.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry Kramp and Dale Kramp, both of Jefferson City; two daughters, Jeannie M. Scheperle and Diana L. Loethen, both of Jefferson City; three sisters, Helen Schultz, LaCrosse, Wis., Edna Berry, Vandalia, and Ethel Schuricht, Jefferson City; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Stephen H. Buchholz will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

NICKLE
D. Colleen Nickle, 66, Sunrise Beach, died March 29, 1999, at Balanced Care East Extended Care Facility, Springfield.
She was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Coffeyville, Kan., a daughter of James E. and Juanita Opal Yeubanks. Her mother survives in Overland Park, Kan. She was married to Herb Nickle, who survives at the home.
She was employed at Lakeland State Bank, Sunrise Beach, for 14 years until her retirement.
She was a charter member and first president of American Legion Auxiliary 624.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael Barnett, St. Paul, Kan., and Larry Barnett, Overland Park; two stepdaughters, Lisa McKinney and Cindy Head, both of Kansas City; three sisters, Rosale Holder, Coffeyville, Kan., Doris Greenlee, Prairie Village, Kan., and Jeanette Segraves, Camdenton; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
One daughter, Krista Barnett, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley, Kan.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
SLATER
Cledith A. "Tony" Slater, 62, Quincy, Ill., died March 29, 1999, at his home.
He was born Nov. 11, 1936, in Quincy, a son of Frank and Hattie Pfaffe Slater. He was married Dec. 28, 1979, in Quincy, to Jane Dale Moody, who survives at the home.
A graduate of Unity High School, Mendon, Ill., he worked as a carpenter and wood craftsman. He was a member of Grandview Baptist Church, Quincy.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Julie Rezzoffi, Houston, Texas , and Chris Schoenle, Katy, Texas ; one son, Eric Slater, Jefferson City; four brothers, Frank Slater and Harold Slater, both of Quincy, Herman Slater, Boston, and Stanley Slater, Granby; eight sisters, Dorothy Morley, Mildred Hutson, Dolores Warren, Emma Scheufele, Hattie Hibbard and Gertrude Winking, all of Quincy, Elsie Wassell, Pittsfield, Ill., and Linda Ruch, St. Joseph; and six grandchildren.
One daughter, Pam Slater, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Quincy. The Rev. Dennis Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to Blessing Foundation for Hospice, Quincy.
WIERENGA
Carolyn Jean Wierenga, 76, Barnett, died March 25, 1999, at her home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Lafayette, Ind., a daughter of Albert and Esta Montgomery Payne. She was married Feb. 28, 1942, to John Raymond Wierenga, who died in 1975.
Survivors include: two sons, David Joe Wierenga, Lafayette, and John W. Wierenga Jr., Palm Harbor, Fla.; two daughters, Rebecca Bush and Shaon Etter, both of Lafayette; and four sisters, Fern Taylor and Shirley Funk, both of Lafayette, Thelma Shepherd, Palm Harbor, and Patricia Caldwater, Buck Creek, Ind.
Family services will be at a later date. The body was cremated.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
HETTENBACH
Walter William George Hettenbach, 82, Chamois, died March 30, 1999, in Chamois.
He was born Sept. 6, 1916, in Chamois, a son of William C. and Anna Trachsel Hettenbach. He was married July 26, 1944, in Jefferson City, to Jewel Fent, who survives at the home.
He attended the Glavin school and was a farmer from 1930 to 1984. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Chamois. He served on the board of directors of United Bank of Chamois for 31 years and was an active member of the Chamois Lions Club.
Other survivors include: one son, Gary Hettenbach, Houston, Texas ; three daughters, Lana Hackmann, Chamois, Linda Bounds, Jefferson City, and Beverly Southerland, Ramona, Calif.; two sisters, Bertha Holzem, Jefferson City, and Lydia Hagedorn, Ballwin; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John United Church of Christ. The Rev. Delian Eberhart and the Rev. Larry Hendrickson will officiate. Burial will be in St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Chamois.
