WILSON

Mary G. Wilson, 87, Linn, died July 24, 2000, at Green Meadows Health Care Center, Linn.

She was born March 19, 1913, in Linn, a daughter of Gerhard and Gertrude Boes Voss. She was married Sept. 22, 1937, in Linn, to Robert E. Wilson, who survives at the home.

She attended St. George School. A lifelong area resident, she was a homemaker. She co-owned Wilson's Thriftway, Linn, from 1962 to 1980.

She was a lifelong member of St. George Church, Linn, where she was a member of St. Ann's Sodality.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Mary Frances Light and Norma Lee Campbell, both of Linn; one sister, Janet Fincher, Linn; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. George Church. The Rev. Paul Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in St. George Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. George Activity Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.

STRICKLAND

Hazel Shelby Strickland, 77, Florissant, died July 24, 2000, at her home.

She was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Stoddard County, a daughter of Robert and Hallie Shelby. She was married Nov. 21, 1942, to Marion Strickland, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Robert Strickland, Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Joyce Strickland, Chicago, and Linda Simon,  Jefferson City; one brother, Bob Shelby, Bartlett, Tenn.; six sisters, Dora Bomar, Cape Girardeau, Maxine Hill, Sikeston, Joy Honig, Encino, Calif., Freeda Kinsey, Marion, Ill., Verna Scheffer, Denver, and Jo Whitehead, Emporia, Va.; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Parker Road Baptist Church, Florissant. The Rev. Keith Simon and Robert Griffin will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Sikeston.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Crossing Presbyterian Church, 2915 Chapel Hill, Columbia, Mo. 65203.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hutchens Mortuary, Florissant.

DITTMAN

Alice E. Dittman, 83, California, died July 24, 2000, at California Care Center.

She was born April 3, 1917, in Gasconade County, a daughter of Joseph and Nora Nixon Cautrell. She was married to George Cantriel, who died in 1950. She was married April 14, 1956, in Owensville, to George Dittman, who died Sept. 4, 1989.

She worked for O'Sullivan Industries, Owensville, for several years. She owned and operated Dittman Variety Store, Bland.

She worked as a foster parent for the Presbyterian Children's Home in Farmington, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of California United Church of Christ, and the Women's Guild of the church.

She was active in the California Senior Center, California Area Senior Citizens and Moniteau County OATS.

She was a member of California Chapter 521, Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include: two sons, Douglas J. Cantriel, California, and Dennis G. Cantriel, Belle; two brothers, Clifford Cautrell, Vichy, and Willard Cautrell, Bland; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 8 p.m. today at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Gary Schulte will officiate. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Countryside Memorial Gardens near Owensville.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the California Senior Center, 106 W. Versailles Ave., California, Mo. 65018; California United Church of Christ - Tape Ministry, 101 N. Oak St., California, Mo. 65018; or the American Diabetes Association, Missouri Affiliate, 1316 Parkade Blvd., P.O. Box 1013, Columbia, Mo. 65205.

KOCH

Herbert Fred Koch, 89,  Jefferson City, died July 24, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born April 14, 1911, in Stover, a son of August F. and Lena Nolting Koch. He was married Sept. 29, 1933, in Stover, to Pearl Marie Fluty, who died April 25, 1986.

He attended schools in Stover and Versailles. He was employed at Tweedies Footwear Corp. and Brown Footwear, Fulton. He then worked in maintenance at McDonald's and in the maintenance and security division at the Missouri Supreme Court. He was a gardener and groundskeeper at Mutual Savings and Loan.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Laymen's League, and was active with Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include one daughter, Nona Maire Wagner,  Jefferson City, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church. The Rev. Anthony Alter and the Rev. Alvin Lange will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery, Versailles.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Buescher Memorial Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Faith Lutheran Church Food Pantry.

PATTERSON

William James Patterson, 50, St. Martins, died July 24, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 29, 1949, in  Jefferson City, a son of John W. and Loretta H. LeCure Patterson. His stepmother, Marie Patterson, survives in  Jefferson City. He was married Jan. 23, 1971, in  Jefferson City, to Susan Walton, who survives at the home.

A 1968 graduate of  Jefferson City High School, he attended Central Missouri State University. He was a brakeman for Missouri Pacific Railroad. He also worked for the Missouri National Guard and was in insurance sales and investments. For the last 10 years, he worked for the Department of Social Services. He coached youth football, baseball and soccer.

Other survivors include: one son, Douglas W. Patterson,  Jefferson City; one daughter, Julie E. Waldrop, Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Kenneth Lee Patterson, Stockton, Calif.; two sisters, Doris Jean Bratten,  Jefferson City, and Patricia Ann Sims, Windsor; and one grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Kyle Hern will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association; the American Cancer Society; or a charity of the donor's choice.

HARLIN

Leota June Harlin, 74, Versailles, died July 25, 2000, at her home.

She was born July 2, 1926, in Wapela, Ill., a daughter of Lester A. and Ina Carl Cunningham.

She was employed by General Electric until her retirement.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Ellen Carnahan, Nelda Denise Simons and Karen Lee Hill, all of Versailles, and Lavon Pickett, Bloomington, Ill., and two sisters, Alta Jean Everetts, Gravois Mills, and Murna Rose Johnson, Lake Placid, Fla.

Services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home. The Rev. John Wagner will officiate. Inurnment and graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, Ill.

Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Thursday.

OTT

Herman H. Ott, 95, Russellville, died July 25, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 12, 1904, near Lohman, a son of Adam and Theresa Malzner Ott. He was married April 28, 1926, in Russellville, to Louise A. Sauer, who died Jan. 17, 1998.

He attended school in Russellville and worked in grain, dairy and livestock farming until his retirement. He moved from the farm to Russellville in 1976. He was involved in community work, serving as a committee member on area farm programs.

He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville, where he served as chairman of the church council for 12 years. He was on the Cole County R-1 School Board for several years.

Survivors include: two sons, Elmer Ott, Russellville, and Herman C. "Junior" Ott, Lohman; one daughter, Gertrude M. Davis,  Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville. The Rev. Nancy Oliver will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Russellville.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville, the Trinity Lutheran Perpetual Cemetery Fund or Heisinger Home.

FELBER

Christine "Sally" Felber, 60, Holts Summit, died July 21, 2000, at Doctors Medical Center, Modesto, Calif.

She was born Dec. 5, 1939, in French Camp, Calif. She was married in 1957 to Herbert Felber, who survives at the home.

She was a graduate of Tracy High School, Tracy, Calif. A resident of the Tracy and Stockton, Calif., areas for most of her life, she was manager of Felber and Sons Trucking Co. She had been a resident of the Holts Summit area for the past three years.

She was past Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls, Tracy Assembly 32, and a past president and past vice president of the San Joaquin River Club. She volunteered at St. Marys Health Center and was a member of the Catholic Church.

Other survivors include: two sons, Ronald Felber, Tracy, and Karl Felber, Salida, Calif.; three daughters, Linda Foster and Michelle Felber, both of Tracy, and Susan Donohue, Rush Springs, Okla.; three brothers, John Peterman, Lancaster, Calif., Thomas Peterman, Trenton, N.J., and Richard Peterman, Tracy; one sister, Patricia Van Dorst, Ripon, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville. The Rev. Bill Smith will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

SMITH

Margot Julie Smith, 81,  Jefferson City, died July 23, 2000, at Woodland Manor Nursing Home, Springfield.

She was born Sept. 26, 1918, in San Francisco, a daughter of Firmin J. and Julie Marie Goffeux Arnould. She was married April 15, 1948, in Oakland, Calif., to Robert H. Smith, who died Jan. 21, 1997.

She attended schools in Oakland. A homemaker, she worked at Pryor Novelty Shop, Tuscumbia. She was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include: three sons, Stephen K. Smith,  Jefferson City, Gregory L. Smith, Washington , D.C., and Darrell W. Smith, Blue Springs; one daughter, Julie R. Williams, Springfield; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. John Tarbet will officiate. Burial will be in Gageville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30-1 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

CORLEY

Marilyn "Opie" Corley, 47, Olean, died July 26, 2000, in Olean.

She was born Jan. 11, 1953, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of James L. and Georgetta Rehagen Franklin. Her parents survive in Eldon. She was married to Danny Opie, who survives in Eldon. She was married Feb. 28, 1995, in Eureka Springs, Ark., to Christopher Mark Corley, who survives in Eldon.

She was employed by Southwestern Bell, Olean; the Missouri Department of Revenue; Opie's Transport; Bee's Bloomers, Olean; C.M.C. Construction; and The Lee House, Eldon.

She was a former member of the Olean Jaycees and was a member of the South Creek Ranch.

Other survivors include: two sons, Brandon Opie, Eldon, and Eric Opie, Kansas City; one stepson, Markus Corley,  Jefferson City; three brothers, Terry Franklin and Gary Franklin, both of Eldon, and James E. Franklin, Sedalia; and one sister, Judy Golden, Lawrence, Kan.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ninth Street Christian Church, Eldon. The Rev. Tom Farrington will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

Memorials are suggested to Ninth Street Christian Church, the family or the American Brain Tumor Society.
