SCOTT

Clyde Leroy Scott, 78, Bella Vista, Ark., formerly of  Jefferson City, died March 29, 1999, at Bates Medical Center, Bentonville, Ark.

He was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Calamus, Iowa, a son of Roy and Anne Broderios Scott. He was married Sept. 27, 1989, in Las Vegas, to Claire Sullens, who survives at the home.

He moved from  Jefferson City to Bella Vista about 7 1/2 years ago. He served in the Navy for more than 20 years before his retirement in 1960. He received the Navy Commendation Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Pacific Theater Ribbon, the United Nations Medal and the American Defense Service Medal.

He served as executive director of the Missouri Commission on Human Rights from May 9, 1970, to Dec. 1, 1973. He attended Bella Vista Community Church, and was a member of the Retired Officers Association, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Elks Club.

Other survivors include: three sons, Wade Scott and Warren Scott, both of  Jefferson City, and Geoffrey Scott, Key West, Fla.; three stepsons, Rick Hetzel, Cape Girardeau, Ronnie Gerald Hetzel, Recenda, Calif., and Floyd Edward Sullens, Albany, Ore.; one brother, Dean Scott, Lorain, Ohio; one sister, Gwen Romer, Maquoketa, Iowa; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and six stepgrandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Freeman Chapel. The Rev. R.W. Beard will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. 72714, or to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

TIBBITTS

Robert G. Tibbitts, 71, Mary Esther, Fla., formerly of  Jefferson City, died March 25, 1999, at his home.

He was born Oct. 9, 1927, in Desoto, a son of Joe and Ann Schuh Tibbitts. He was married April 12, 1958, in  Jefferson City, to Nancy M. Trenkle, who survives at the home.

A graduate of DeSoto High School, he was employed with KLIK radio for several years and was news director for KWOS radio from 1957 to 1965. From 1965 to 1972, he was a journalist at WCCO radio in Minneapolis and from 1972 to 1988 at WIL radio in St. Louis. After retirement, he moved to Mary Esther.

He was the first radio news reporter to cover the Missouri Legislature on live radio. He received the Missouri Associated Press Radio News Coverage Award in 1964. He became an honorary member of the Blue Angels Flight Team in 1966.

For coverage of a tornado disaster in Minneapolis, he was awarded the Sigma Delta Chi Society of Professional Journalists Award, the Alfred I. DuPont Award and the Peabody Award

Other survivors include: one daughter, Anne Tibbitts of the state of Washington ; one sister, Norma Vaughn, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and one granddaughter.

Services will be later in Fort Walton Beach.

Memorials are suggested to St. Simons on the Sound Episcopal Church, 220 Elgin Parkway, Fort Walton Beach, Fla. 32548.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

TRAPP

Andrew "Bud" Trapp, 83, Sunrise Beach, died April 2, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.

He was born May 13, 1915, in St. Louis, a son of Joseph A. and Marie Gertrude Griener Trapp.

An iron molder, he retired from Banner Iron Works in St. Louis. He was a member of the Foundry Workers Union and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: two brothers, Frank Trapp, Sunrise Beach, and Wilbert Trapp, St. Charles; and two sisters, Delores Westermeyer, Normandy, and Betty Schulte, St. Charles.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

CONNELL

Joseph Edward Connell, 86, Wentzville, formerly of  Jefferson City, died April 4, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake St. Louis.

He was born April 11, 1912, in Kingsville, a son of Maurice M. and Nellie Teresa Reidy Connell. He was married to Gretchen Wheeler, who is deceased.

He was an accountant for the State of Missouri for several years. He is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Wentzville, and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include: one son, Dr. Bernard Patrick Connell, Chattanooga, Tenn.; two daughters, Dr. Margaret Newbold, Wentzville, and Charon Connell, St. Clair; one brother, Vincent Connell, Kingsville; one sister, Margaret Mary Kane, Blue Springs; and seven grandchildren.

A son, Lt. Col. Joseph E. Connell II, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Rev. Leo Spezia will officiate. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to Wentzville Knights of Columbus or St. Vincent DePaul in care of T.E. Pitman Funeral Home, 909 Pitman Ave., Wentzville, 63385.

Arrangements are by the T.E. Pitman Funeral Home.

GORDON

Ruth Marie Gordon, 60,  Jefferson City, died April 4, 1999, at her home.

She was born Nov. 24, 1938, in Callaway County, a daughter of Harry O. and Susie Branch Steinmetz. She was married Oct. 26, 1962, in Callaway County, to Elmer Bernard "Tug" Gordon, who died April 21, 1993.

She attended  Jefferson City High School and was employed in the bindery department at Von Hoffmann Press Inc. for 33 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Kevin Jay Gordon and Kyle Damon Gordon, both of  Jefferson City; one daughter, Kimberly Lynn Gordon, Holts Summit; four brothers, Larry Dean Steinmetz and Stanley George Steinmetz, both of Holts Summit, Roger Dale Steinmetz,  Jefferson City, and Wayne Carl Steinmetz, Tebbetts; three sisters, Minnie Smith, Williamsburg, Wanda Craighead, Mexico, and Emily Bainer,  Jefferson City; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

HASKAMP

Hugo Louis Haskamp, 73,  Jefferson City, died April 4, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Brunswick, a son of Joseph W. and Elizabeth Gertrude Westhoff Haskamp. He was married Jan. 16, 1954, in Glasgow, to Marcella Christina Hagedorn, who survives at the home.

A 1944 graduate of Brunswick High School, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He received the Silver Star and Purple Heart awards.

He was a salesman for Swift and Company for 23 years and later with Hiland Foods until his retirement on April 1, 1988. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Satolli Council of the Knights of Columbus, Glasgow; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 213,  Jefferson City;  Jefferson City Bowing Association and a league secretary; and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Mary Haskamp and Becky Haskamp, both of  Jefferson City; two sons, Dan Haskamp, Liberty, and Tony Haskamp,  Jefferson City; and one sister, Anna Lou Wood, Gladstone.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald W. Lammers will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Parish and Education Foundation or to the Helias Foundation.

MOORE

Bobby R. Moore, 71, Sunrise Beach, died April 3, 1999, at Laurie Care Center, Laurie.

He was born Jan 17, 1928, a son of Roy and Annabella Moore. He was married to Rosemary Moore, who survives at the home.

An Air Force veteran, he attended Wesleyan University. He was in the marketing division of Sinclair Oil for 20 years and established Satisfaction Inc., a real estate company, in 1974. He served three terms as president of the Lake of the Ozarks Board of Realtors and was Realtor of the Year in 1985.

He was a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Missouri Association of Realtors, where he was active on the Professional Standards Committee until his retirement.

Other survivors include: two sons, Judge Bruce Moore, Salina, Kan., and Mark Moore, Lansing, Kan.; one daughter, Lee Anne Braumm, Sunrise Beach; one brother, Dr. Garth Moore, state of Indiana; and six grandchildren.

One son, Greg Moore, and one infant daughter preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kent Memorial Lutheran Church, Sunrise Beach.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

PFREMMER

Beverly Sharon Pfremmer, 56, Columbia, formerly of  Jefferson City, died April 3, 1999, at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Columbia.

She was born April 19, 1942, in Meta, a daughter of Leonard W. and Inez Maria Grosvenor Barnhart. Her mother survives in  Jefferson City. She was married Feb. 17, 1983, in Newkirk, Okla., to Ralph K. Pfremmer, who survives at the home.

A graduate of  Jefferson City High School, she attended Lincoln University. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Other survivors include: one son, Curtis Bowman,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Lisa Zielke, St. Clair, and Jennifer Zitzmann, St. Louis; one stepson, Ralph Pfremmer Jr., Ballwin; one stepdaughter, Kathryn Pfremmer, Columbia; one sister, Colleen Kay Petty, Liberty; three grandchildren and four step grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Paul Scheperle will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

DIXON

Wanda Lourine Colvin Dixon, 72, Blue Springs, formerly of Versailles, died April 3, 1999, at her home.

She was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Versailles, a daughter of Roy and Effie Morrison Colvin.

She was a secretary for Union Wire and Rope, Kansas City, until her retirment. She also worked for the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, near Versailles.

Survivors include: one brother, Dorsey Colvin, Versailles; and two sisters, Lucille Raines, Versailles, and Frances Marie Williams, Independence.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Bill Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today.
