STREETER

Vera Streeter, 91, Osage Beach, died Sept. 18, 2000, at her home.

She was born Nov. 23, 1908, in Hamilton, a daughter of W.O. and Minnie Henderson. She was married March 28, 1928, to Orvis Streeter, who died June 15, 1978.

She worked at the Ozark Opry, Osage Beach, as a ticket receptionist for 35 years. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, Osage Beach.

Survivors include: one son, Ralph Streeter, Linn Creek; two daughters, Vivian Streeter and Betty L. Vance, both of Osage Beach; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Riverview Baptist Church, Osage Beach. The Rev. Chuck Phillips will officiate. Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday in Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

Memorials are suggested to Riverview Baptist Church Building Fund.

BURNAM

Betty Jo Burnam, 74, Stover, died Sept. 19, 2000, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.

She was born Oct. 23, 1925, in Gatesville, Texas , a daughter of William W. (Sr.) and Margaret L. McCarver Powell. She was married Aug. 6, 1946, in Albuquerque, N.M., to T.H. Burnam, who died March 13, 1991.

She lived in Kansas City for many years before moving to the Ivy Bend community, where she and her husband opened Bob's Bait Shop. She was a member of the Eldon Church of Christ. She enjoyed writing short stories and served as the contact person for the OATS bus in Stover.

Survivors include: three sons, Thomas H. Burnam Jr., Kansas City, Billy Joe Burnam, Lee's Summit, and Bobby Gene Burnam, Versailles; three daughters, Betty Lou Sherrard, Fair Oaks, Calif., Katherine Ann Jett, Lee's Summit, and Anita Louise Fallon, Belton; and 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson and four brothers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover. Bobby Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the Eldon Church of Christ.

ESTES

Luther James Estes, 75, Fulton, died Sept. 19, 2000, at his home.

He was born Feb. 11, 1925, a son of Robert L. and Marie Wyatt Estes.

He was a sawmill laborer.

Survivors include: two sisters, Opal Estes and Jewell Estes, Fulton; and one brother, Sam Estes, Fulton.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Debo Funeral Chapel, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Reform Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the Reform Cemetery.

HANKS

Roscoe Harold Hanks, 76, Lake Ozark, died Sept. 18, 2000, at his home.

He was born Sept. 24, 1923, in Linn Creek, a son of Herman and Carrie Perceival Hanks. He was married May 3, 1946, in Linn Creek, to Jessie Ballenger, who survives at the home.

He owned and operated the Basket Shop in Lake Ozark for more than 50 years. He also owned Hanks Asphalt and Paving, and Hanks Realty & Insurance. He was a member of Bagnell Baptist Church, Lake Ozark.

Other survivors include: two brothers, Carl Hanks, Humbolt, Kan.; Bill Hanks, Branson; one sister, Florence Long, Urbana; two sons, Lynn Hanks, Lake Ozark; Lee Hanks, Lake Ozark; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lake Chapel of the Hedges Funeral Home in Osage Beach. Burial will be in the Lake Memorial Cemetery Columbarium in Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m.

HILKERBAUMER

Selma C. Hilkerbaumer, 82, Morrison, died Sept. 19, 2000, at Frene Valley Health Care Center, Hermann.

She was born Dec. 24, 1917, in Mud Creek, a daughter of Gustave and Lena Pauck Niewald. She was married Aug. 18, 1938, in California, to Harry E. Hilkerbaumer, who died Dec. 20, 1981.

She was a homemaker and a member of Salem/Hope Presbyterian Church, Hope.

Survivors include: one son, Donald J. Hilkerbaumer, Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Millie Mae Ruegge, Morrison; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Salem/Hope Presbyterian Church. Pastor J. Joseph Trower will officiate. Burial will be in Salem/Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Hope.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.

Memorials are suggested to Salem/Hope Presbyterian Church.

WILSON

George "Brut" Wilson, 86, Loose Creek, died Sept. 19, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born May 4, 1914, in Osage County, a son of Joe and Sue Ware Wilson. He was married Nov. 24, 1938, in Boonville, to Margaret M. Kemple, who died Jan. 4, 1996.

He was employed by Southwestern Bell before retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Linn.

Survivors include: three sisters, Carrie Rodemaker, Mattie Mantle, and Josphine Dill, all of Linn; one son, John Wilson, Loose Creek; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Linn RLDS church. Jerry Henry will officiate. Burial will be in RLDS Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.

JOHNSON

Percy Edward Johnson, 45, Sierra Vista, Ariz., died Sept. 19, 2000, at his home.

He was born Feb. 11, 1955, in New Florence, a son of Floyd S. and Margaret Marie Galbreath Johnson. His mother survives in  Jefferson City. He was married Nov. 30, 1981, at Fort Leonard Wood, to Norma Denise Stevens, who died Nov. 21, 1998.

He was a 1974 graduate of Montgomery City High School. He served 20 years in the Army, retiring as a sergeant first class and maintenance supervisor in the motor division. He had been employed at Fort Huachuca Army Base since 1996.

He was a member of Apostolic Fellowship Church.

Other survivors include: two sons, Brian Stevens,  Jefferson City, and Percy "P.J." Johnson Jr., Sierra Vista; three brothers, Donald Johnson, Floyd Johnson and Richard Johnson, all of  Jefferson City; and five sisters, Gloria Seeney,  Jefferson City, Margaret Butler, Rolla, Sgt. Major Mable Marie Douglas, Korea, Loretta Ferguson, Dallas, and Mary Gonder, Huntsville, Ala.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. Marion Mitchell will officiate. Graveside services, with military honors, will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in  Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

SCHMUTZLER

Monroe J. Schmutzler, 80,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 20, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born March 5, 1920, in Cole County, a son of Edward J. and Mathilda M. Goser Schmutzler. He was married Sept. 14, 1947, in  Jefferson City, to Lorraine M. Henry, who survives at the home.

He attended grade school at St. Johns' Lutheran School at Schubert and the Liberty School in Cole County. A lifelong farmer, he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Osage Flood Control, Farm Bureau, and the Missouri Farmers Association. He was a past board member of the Taos Fire Department and a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in the South Pacific at Saipan during World War II.

Other survivors include: two sons, Monty W. Schmutzler and Allen J. Schmutzler, both of  Jefferson City; two daughters, Diane L. Weiland, Howards Grove, Wisc., and Patricia L. Schmutzler,  Jefferson City; one brother, Robert W. Schmutzler; and six grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, and one stepgreat-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Sue Schmutzler, on April 19, 1965.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Gerald Scheperle will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund.

UETTERLING

Louis A. 'Bud' Uetterling, 69, Morrison, died Sept. 20, 2000, at Boone County Hospital, Columbia.

He was born June 29, 1931, in Gasconade County, a son of Louis A. and Edna Pollmann Uetterling.

He was a farmer and a member of Zion St. Peter's Church in Pershing.

Survivors include: one brother, George Uetterling, Morrison; and two sisters, Hilda Scheible, Hermann, and Adala Uthe, Morrison.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn. The Rev. Bruce Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in the Fredricksburg Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to Fredricksburg Cemetery Association.
