BUEHLER
Maxine "Jimmy" Buehler, 83, Eldon, died Nov. 5, 2000, in Jefferson City.
She was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Bradyville, Iowa, a daughter of Jacob O. and Lola Estelle Stone James. She was married Sept. 2, 1941, to Dr. Carl T. Buehler Jr., who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she was a graduate of St. Lukes Hospital Kansas City School of Nursing and was a registered nurse. She had lived in Eldon since 1946.
She was a past president of the Eldon PTA and past president and 52-year member of the Eldon PEO Chapter Ch. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldon and worked with the vacation Bible school and the Sunbeams programs.
Survivors include: one son, Kent Buehler, Norman, Okla.; one daughter, Elaine Thompson, Warrensburg; one sister, Vivian Wilson, Maryville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Randall bunch will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
GROOM
Josephine M. Groom, 82, Chamois, died Nov. 3, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 13, 1918, in Harrison, Ark., a daughter of John and Maudie Baughman Wolfe. She was married Dec. 5, 1952, in St. Louis, to Robert A. Groom, who died Dec. 13, 1980.
She was a homemaker and a factory worker in St. Louis, including loose leaf bindery and small arms companies. She moved to Chamois in the mid-1980s.
Survivors include: two brothers, Charlie Wolfe, Jefferson City, and George Wolfe, Jefferson City; four sisters, Laura Jarvis, Dixon, Dora Walling, Chamois, Mylinda Thuli, Chamois, and Julie Callais, Centertown.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morton Funeral Home, Chamois. The Rev. Larry Hendrickson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
HICKAM
James Alvin Hickam, 83, Jefferson City, died Nov. 5, 2000, at Jefferson City Manor.
He was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Lupus, a son of James F. and Vessie Hickam. He was married Aug. 31, 1940, in Boonville to Nadine Saak, who survives at the home.
He was a 1937 graduate of Aurora High School, California. He was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II.
A former Denver resident, he was a real estate broker in Denver from 1948 until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of El Jabel Shrine Club and the Masonic Lodge, both in Denver.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Kathy Peerson, Jefferson City; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hampden Memorial Gardens, Denver.
Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Childrens Hospital, 2001 S. Lindberg, St. Louis, Mo., 63131-3597.
MINNER
Richard L. "Dick" Minner, 69, Gravois Mills, died Nov. 3, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 26, 1931, in Morley, a son of Richard M. and Ella Wright Minner. He was married Nov. 27, 1964, to Billie June Valentine, who survives.
He was a retired pipe coverer. He was a member of Insulator's Union Local 1, St. Louis, and Osage Community Elks Lodge 2705, Laurie.
Other survivors include: three sons, Donald Minner, Poteet, Texas , David Minner, St. Louis, and Kenneth Boswell, San Jose, Calif.; one daughter, Twila Way, St. Louis; one brother, Jack Minner, Edwardsville, Ill.; two sisters, Sallye Burlingame and Laura Jo Larrabee, both of Glen Carbon, Ill.; and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sunset Hills, Cemetery, Edwardsville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie, with a eulogy by family members at 7 p.m.
WEKAMP
Raymond J. Wekamp, 76, Jefferson City, died Nov. 3, 2000, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.
He was born Nov. 18, 1923, at St. Martins, a son of Herman and Gertrude Hentges We-kamp. He was married in 1950 in Jefferson City to Alice M. Vaught, who died June 5, 1990.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, he attended Jefferson City public schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed as a laborer in the construction industry for many years until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of St. Peters Church; Laborer Local 662; America Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5; and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693.
Survivors include, a nephew, William J. Vaught, Holts Summit, and other nephews and nieces.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peters Church. The Rev. Joseph Corel will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Freeman Mortuary, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
ADKERSON
Seth J. Adkerson, 24, Jefferson City, died Nov. 5, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born March 19, 1976, in St. Louis, a son of Timothy D. and Shelley G. Thompson Adkerson, who survive in Jefferson City.
A 1995 graduate of Jefferson City High School, he was on the football and track teams. He was a Marine Corps veteran.
Other survivors include: two brothers, Travis A. Adkerson, Jefferson City, and Tyler W. Adkerson, of the home; maternal grandparents William and Judy Thompson, Williamsburg, Ohio; maternal great-grandmother Donna Grace, Los Angeles; and paternal grandmother Rosemond Adkerson, St. Charles.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church. James Allan will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Seth Adkerson Memorial Fund.
HOSKINS
Diane Louise Hoskins, 45, Versailles, died Nov. 5, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born March 15, 1955, in Jefferson City, a daughter of John E. and Maxie Rogerson Hoskins, who survive at the home.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Versailles, and supported the Olympics and the Special Olympics.
She also is survived by two sisters, Carol White and Mary Jane Moon, both of Versailles.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Mark Landis and John Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church, Versailles, or KCVO radio station.
BROCK
Allan Brock, 54, Eldon, died Nov. 4, 2000, in Eldon.
He was born Oct. 29, 1946, in East St. Louis, Ill., a son of Eugene and Mary Pugh Brock.
He retired after 30 years with the O'Fallon Police Department. He then moved to Eldon where he worked for three years with the Eldon Police Department's D.A.R.E. program. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was involved in several community programs.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Brock, O'Fallon; three brothers, George Brock, Broughton, Ill., Larry Brock, League, Texas , and Thomas Brock, Eldordo, Ill.; four sisters, Laura Quetermous and Cheryl Brock, both of Harrisburg, Ill., and Susan Brock and Barbara Brock, both of Eastland, Texas ; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
Visitation will be from 4:30-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
DEARLOVE
Wally Dearlove, 65, Swedeborg, died Nov. 4, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born Dec. 31, 1934, in O'Kean, Ark., a son of John and Marie Martin Dearlove. He was married Oct. 8, 1960, in Pocahontas, Ark., to Lillie Smith, who survives at the home.
He served more than 20 years in the Army, retiring in 1974. He was a life member of the VFW Post in Crocker.
Other survivors include: two sons, Keith Dearlove, Anna Maria, Fla., and Kevin Dearlove, Rolla; one daughter, Lynn Boyce, Swedeborg; and seven grandchildren.
One infant daughter, Laura Dearlove, died in 1968.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Crocker. Pastor Doug Jacobson will officiate. Graveside services with full military honors will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Sutton Cemetery, Pocahontas.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and from 8-9 a.m. Wednesday.
