PETERSON
Jeanne Burgess Peterson, 91, Marshall, Ark., formerly of Jefferson City, died Nov. 18, 2000, at Baxter Regional Medical Center, Mountain Home, Ark.
She was born Aug. 21, 1909, in the state of Oklahoma. She was married June 30, 1943, in Santa Monica, Calif., to Claude "Short" Peterson, who survives at the home.
She attended schools in the state of Oklahoma. A homemaker, she was a nurse until her retirement. She was a past resident of Melbourne, Ark., and a member of the Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: one son, Robert Eichor, Bullhead City, Ariz.; three daughters, Jody Gay, Tahlequah, Okla., Shirley Morris, Lancaster, Calif., and Claudia Weaver, Bullhead City, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.
RAY
Carol Ray, 60, Tuscumbia, died Nov. 18, 2000, at her home.
She was born Sept. 25, 1940, near Corydon, Iowa, a daughter of Otha and Ila McMurray Radcliff. She was married Dec. 9, 1961, in Corydon, to Byron Ray, who survives at the home.
She was a 1958 graduate of Corydon High School. She was a member of Victory Bibleway Baptist Fellowship Church, Tuscumbia. She was employed with Show-Me Printing and had worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Kansas City. She also worked for several newspapers in northern Missouri and southern Iowa as a typesetter and correspondent.
Other survivors include: one son, Alan Ray, Topeka, Kan.; one daughter, Cheryl Bax, St. Elizabeth; one brother, Larry Radcliff, Allerton, Iowa; three sisters, Genevieve Sharp and Linda Greenlee, both of Corydon, and Roma Goben, Humeston, Iowa; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Community Center, St. Elizabeth. The Rev. Ed Luebbering will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Community Center.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Missouri River Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, St. Elizabeth.
GEBHARDT
Ralph H. Gebhardt, 83, Glasgow, died Nov. 19, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Chariton County, a son of Arthur and Hazel Holloway Gebhardt. He was married Dec. 3, 1940, in Carrollton, to Lucy Laverne Richardson, who survives at the home.
He worked at Kansas City Power Light for 32 years, retiring in 1977 as a line foreman. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the KCPL Quarter Century Club.
Other survivors include: two sons, Howard Gebhardt, Jefferson City, and Donald Gebhardt, Fort Madison, Iowa; two brothers, Larry Gebhardt, Columbia, and Robert Gebhardt, Glasgow; three sisters, Marie Monnig and Bonnie Stockhorst, both of Glasgow, and Lucille Gebhardt, Batesville, Ark.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home, Glasgow. The Rev. Tom Rowland will officiate. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Keytesville.
Visitation will be from 5:30-7 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Glasgow Baptist Church or to Alzheimer's research.
GLENN
Eunice Glenn, 67, Vichy, died Nov. 20, 2000, at her home.
She was born Oct. 18, 1933, in Little Rock, Ark., a daughter of Tom and Ethel Manes Haynie. She was married Oct. 25, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., to David "Buck" Glenn, who survive at the home.
She was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church and the Rainbow Chapter 263, Order of the Eastern Star, Vienna.
She was a parts order filler for National Venders, St. Louis, for 27 years before retiring. She moved to Vichy in 1989.
Other survivors include: one brother, John Nuckles, Bee Branch, Ark.; two sisters, Helen Reynolds, Pocahontas, Ark., and Wanda Arbuckle, Braidwood, Ill.; and one grandchild.
Two sons, Donald Glenn and Bradley Glenn, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. The Rev. Karen Alden will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Gardens, Rolla.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Vichy Volunteer Fire Department.
WERNER
Robert H. Werner, 60, St. Thomas, died Nov. 20, 2000, at Jefferson City Manor.
He was born April 17, 1940, in St. Thomas, a son of August and Caroline Schaefer Werner. He was married May 26, 1962, in Argyle, to Eldora Wieberg, who survives at the home.
He was a 1958 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia.
He was a farmer and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Meta.
Other survivors include: two sons, Bruce Werner, Meta, and Russell Werner, St. Thomas; two daughters, Sandra Moeller, Jefferson City, and Karen Meyer, Koeltztown; one brother, Don Werner, Jefferson City; two sisters, Anna Marie Ruettgers, Loose Creek, and Doris Schroeder, Westphalia; and four grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held.
Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.
Memorials are suggested to Friendship House in Jefferson City or Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
STEVENS
Nora Dilse Stevens, 103, Jefferson City, died Nov. 20, 2000, at Oak View Living Center.
She was born Dec. 9, 1896, in Clarksburg, a daughter of Thomas H. and Ida Redmon Dilse. She was married July 17, 1915, in Eldon, to John A. "Mickey" Stevens, who died Sept. 21, 1964.
She was a homemaker and a member of Eldon First Assembly of God Church. A former Eldon resident, she was a Sunday school teacher for 45 years. She farmed and raised broiler chickens.
Survivors include: three nephews, Carl McGill, Eldon, Kenneth Dutcher, California, and Gene Dilse, Blue Springs; four nieces, Wanda Henry, Leawood, Kan., Florence McGuire, Lawrence, Kan., Charlotte Johnson, Hartsburg, and Anita Chapman, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. James Hedrick and the Rev. Lowell Perkins will officiate. Burial will be in High Point Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to the Eldon First Assembly of God Church.
HAGAN
Erma F. Wall Hagan, 85, Iberia, died Nov. 20, 2000, at St. Marys Heath Center.
She was born Jan. 22, 1915, in Ulman, a daughter of George C. and Ollie Gertrude Robinson Martin. She was married in 1937 to Glen Wall, who died in 1952. She was married Aug. 4, 1962, in Iberia, to Donald Leroy Hagan, who died June 21, 1979.
A homemaker, she was a graduate of Brumley High School. She was a member of Iberia First Christian Church and Iberia VFW Post 6167 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include: one son, Gary G. Wall, Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Charlie Martin and William F. Martin, both of Kansas City; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
HESS
Orien E. Hess, 76, Kansas City, died Nov. 20, 2000, at his home.
He was born April 26, 1924, in Dearborn. He was married Oct. 25, 1946, to Ruth Zulauf, who survives at the home.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1952 and received his master's degree in orthodontics in 1958. He practiced orthodontics in Joplin and Carthage until retirement in 1987.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Mary Rainosek, Harker Heights, Texas ; four sons, James Hess, Carthage, Robert Hess, Jefferson City, John Hess, The Woodlands, Texas , and Tom Hess, Lenexa, Kan.; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at D.W. Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to Kansas City Hospice.
MARTIN
John L. "Peck" Martin, 45, Ashland, died Nov. 21, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
He was born Jan. 29, 1955, in Boone County, a son of John F. and Bertha Harman Martin. His father survives in Ashland. He was married July 30, 1993, in Boone County, to Faith Ann Meuth, who survives at the home.
He worked for Boone Hospital from 1974 to 1998 as a facility supervisor. Later, he worked for Coastal Electric Company and Ashland Healthcare as a director of building services.
Other survivors include: one son, Brandon John Martin, Ashland; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Martin and Heather Faith Gibbs, both of Ashland; and two sisters, Trudy Halley, Atlanta, Mo., and Ginny Martin, Ashland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. The Rev. Jesse Barnhart will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Ashland.
