THURSTON

John David Thurston, 50, Corpus Christi, Texas , died Feb. 4, 2001.

He was born in 1950, a son of Hollis Thurston. His father survives in  Jefferson City. He was married to Bea Thurston, who survives in Corpus Christi.

He was a retired union boilermaker.

Other survivors include one daughter, Kitty Thurston, Corpus Christi, and two sisters, Erin Carter, Keller, Texas , and Kevin Thurston, Rolla.

Services will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of New Funeral Options Funeral Home, Corpus Christi.

MARR

David Harold Marr, 76, New Bloomfield, died Feb. 5, 2001, at his home.

He was born July 6, 1924, in Caledonia, a son of John J. and Stella Mae Cluff. He was married Oct. 17, 1942, in Belgique, to LaVerne Schremp, who preceded him in death. He was married Aug. 12, 1968, in Washington County, to Anna Elizabeth Cohea, who survives at the home.

He was employed as a maintenance foreman at the Missouri Baptist Home for 17 years. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Edith Marie Vernon, Festus, and Geraldine "Geri" Buchheit, Perryville; one son, Larry Marr, Perryville; three stepsons, Terry Berkbigler and Michael Berkbigler, both of Lake Ozark, and Steven Berkbigler, Park Hills; one stepdaughter, Debbie Allen, Tebbetts; one brother, the Rev. Joseph T. Marr, Calipatria; three sisters, Gladys E. McGuire, Irondale, Maudie M. Moss, Slater, and Mable L. Clark, Piedmont; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, Linda Marr and Doris Jean Marr, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit, with the Rev. Jim Shaver officiating, and at 10 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home, Perryville. Burial will be in Home Cemetery, Perryville.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Debo Funeral Home and from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

SCHULZ

Paul John Schulz, 78, Folk, died Feb. 7, 2001, at  Jefferson City Manor Care Center.

He was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Meta, a son of Paul E. and Anna Massman Schulz. He was married Oct. 14, 1950, in Meta, to Theodora Jaegers, who survives.

A graduate of Meta High School, he worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections for more than 20 years. He was a farmer and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Folk.

Other survivors include: two sons, John Schulz, Taos, and Gerald Schulz, Bartlesville, Okla.; one daughter, Conradine "Connie" Gerling, Boonville; and nine grandchildren.

One son, David Schulz, died in 1954.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. The Rev. John Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph's Home for the Aged or to Masses at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

ARMER

Jeffrey Joe Armer, 33, Kansas City, died Feb. 6, 2001, at his home.

He was born Nov. 21, 1967, in St. Louis, a son of Lonnie J. and Betty Jean Wells Armer. His mother, Betty J. Johnson, survives in  Jefferson City. His father survives in O'Fallon.

He graduated from Oak Park High School, Kansas City. He studied art at Maple Woods Community College, Kansas City. He worked in delivery for various companies in Kansas City.

Other survivors include one brother, Matthew Johnson,  Jefferson City, and one sister, Kristen Johnson,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

EIDSON

Berenice Eidson, 81, Camdenton, died Feb. 6, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Kansas City, a daughter of Frank and Iva Dawson Jones. She was married April 26, 1972, to Jack Eidson, who died Jan. 20, 1995.

Survivors include: three sons, Kenneth Earl Yost, state of Nevada, Robert Yost, Eldridge, and Gerald Yost Sr., Camdenton; one daughter, Joyce Ann Gregory, Eldridge; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Huff Cemetery, Eldridge.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

CRUM

Chesley Crum, 46, Dixon, died Feb. 7, 2001, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.

He was born Oct. 2, 1954, in Valley Park, a son of Glenn and Jessie Rowden Crum. He was married Aug. 15, 1987, to Brinda Mae Kiger, who survives in Dixon.

He was a road construction and concrete laborer for Link Construction Company, Arnold, for 18 years and for J.H. Berra Construction Company, St. Louis, for four years. He was employed by Buddy York Construction, Dixon.

Other survivors include: one son, Eli Crum, Dixon; one daughter, Angela Marie Dake, Dixon; five brothers, Clyde Crum, Cedar Hill, Bob Crum, Piedmont, BeBe Crum, House Springs, Lloyd Crum, Union, and Ross Crum, Robertsville; and two sisters, Rose Marie Lucas, House Springs, and Donna Bush, Henderson, Ky.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Burial will be Dixon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

HASELHORST

August Anton "Gus" Haselhorst, 81,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 5, 2001, in Phoenix, Ariz.

He was born Oct. 12, 1919, in Folk, a son of Frank A. and Mary Boeckman Haselhorst. He was married June 3, 1950, in Columbia, to Marilynn Myers, who survives at the home.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he received a bachelor's degree in agriculture in 1949, and a master's degree in soils in 1951. He worked in a federal soils program in Jackson, Miss., from 1951 to 1954.

From 1954 to 1971, he was a sales representative and manager at the F.M. Stamper Co. A resident of the  Jefferson City area for the past 47 years, he worked for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Holy Name Society.

Other survivors include: one son, Ross Haselhorst, Rolla; three daughters, Cheryl Haselhorst Wambold, Phoenix, Kay Haselhorst Wilson, Atlanta, Ga., and Lori Haselhorst, Reno, Nev.; five sisters, Matilda Wilbers, Loose Creek, Clara Schmidt, St. Thomas, Emma Carter and Margaret Prenger, both of  Jefferson City, and Loreen Volmert, Folk; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Gregory Higley will officiate. Private entombment will be in the mausoleum at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Church, 1206 E. McCarty St.,  Jefferson City, Mo.; or to the National World War II Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 98147, Washington , D.C., 20090-8147.

LOYD

Pearl M. Loyd, 97,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 7, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born May 2, 1903, in Hermann, a daughter of Edmund and Louisa Heinlein Stoehr. She was married Aug. 3, 1928, in Monticello, Ind., to Fred Loyd, who died March 12, 1989.

A lifelong Central Missouri resident, she attended school in Hermann. She was employed as a nurse's aide in the obstetrics department at St. Marys Health Center, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, the Naomi Sunday School Class and the St. Marys Health Center auxiliary.

Survivors include: one son, James R. Loyd,  Jefferson City; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Baptist Church. The Rev. Ken Lumley and the Rev. Mike Rapp will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Memorial Baptist Church Music Department.

NEEDY

Alma Ruth Needy, 92, Tipton, died Feb. 6, 2001, at Tipton Manor.

She was born Sept. 11, 1908, in Pleasant Green, a daughter of Chester and Bertha Leona Geier Hurt. She was married in 1930 to Jack H. Needy, who died in 1979.

She was a member of Tipton United Methodist Church, Tipton Mothers Club and the W.S.C.S. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Dahl, Tipton, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

One son, Jack Wayne Needy, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tipton United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Howlett will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Tipton.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Tipton United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
