SCHWINTZ

Cora Porter Schwintz, 82,  Louisiana, died May 17, 2001, in  Louisiana.

She was born Nov. 5, 1918, in Tuscumbia, a daughter of William A. and Stella Roark Harrison. She was married to Dan Porter, who died in 1956. She was married Sept. 15, 1996, in Versailles, to James R. Schwintz, who survives in  Louisiana.

She was a cook.

Other survivors include: two sons, John Daniel Porter,  Louisiana, and Earl Lee Porter, Rich Hill; one sister, Faye Newcome, Blue Mound, Kan.; two brothers, John Harrison and Harvey Harrison, both of Monegaw Springs; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial will be in Spring Garden Cemetery, Eugene.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

NENTWIG

Paul Ernest Nentwig, 88,  Jefferson City, died May 17, 2001, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged.

He was born Nov. 22, 1912, in  Jefferson City, a son of Herman and Clara Ann Neutzler Nentwig. He was married Sept. 3, 1939, in  Jefferson City, to Alice Jane Rice, who preceded him in death Sept. 8, 1992.

He was a graduate of St. Peter Catholic School. He owned and operated the Paul Nentwig Radio Shop and serviced Hammond organs for 40 years. For 27 years, he was a projectionist for the Highway 50 Drive-in.

He was a member of immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Motion Picture Union and the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Survivors include: five daughters, Mary Jane Bauer, Holts Summit, Paulette Ann Davis, Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Patty Louise Rackers, Rose Ann Dey and Rita Carol Penland, all of  Jefferson City; three sisters, Mary Vincent, Catherine Hilke and Agnes Meyer, all of St. Louis; 10 grandchildrenand 13 great-grandchildren;

Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian Driscoll and the Rev. Robert Kraus will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Helias Foundation or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

HOLMES

James D. Holmes, 44,  Jefferson City, died May 13, 2001, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

Arrangements are at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

FRICKE

Aurelia M. Fricke, 80,  Jefferson City, died May 17, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born June 26, 1920, in McGirk, a daughter of John and Hilda Bassman Fricke.

She was a lifelong resident of the  Jefferson City area and a  Jefferson City High School graduate. She worked at Tweedie Footwear Factory and then with the Missouri Department of Revenue, retiring in 1992.

She was a member of Central United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Eleanor Circle, the Bazaar Circle and the adult Sunday school class.

Survivors include: two nieces, Georgeen Fennewald and Renee Irvin, both of  Jefferson City.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Central United Church of Christ. The Rev. Stephen Buchholz will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Central United Church of Christ Building Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

HUSMANN

Violet R. Husmann, 71, Lake Ozark, died May 17, 2001, at Osage Beach Health Care Center.

She was born Feb. 28, 1930, in East St. Louis, Ill., a daughter of Clovis and Helen Wilhelm Brown. She was married Feb. 18, 1973, in Edwardsville, Ill., to William F. Husmann, who survives at the home.

She was a member of Osage Beach VFW Post 6514 Ladies Auxiliary, the Linn Creek-Osage Beach Lions Club Ladies and was an Elkette of the Osage Beach Elks Lodge. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Eldon.

Other survivors include: two sons, Larry Goddard, Godfrey, Ill., and Randy Goddard, Edwardsville; one daughter, Jackie Tolbert, Houston, Texas ; three brothers, Don Brown, Columbia, Ill., Ralph Brown, Dupo, Ill., and Dennis Brown, Belleville, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Steve Riordan will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association of Mid-Missouri, Columbia.

LOCK

Edna "Polly" Lock, 81, Meta, died May 16, 2001, at Westphalia Retirement Center.

She was born July 25, 1919, in Meta, a daughter of John and Mamie Welsh Schroeder. She was married May 8, 1940, in  Jefferson City, to Vincent August Lock, who died June 14, 1994.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Babbtown.

Survivors include: two daughters, Sandy Kaiser,  Jefferson City, and Lee Ann Kelly,  Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; one step granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Babbtown. The Rev. Gerald Scheperle will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-3 p.m. Sunday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church.

ROSENGREN

Services were Tuesday for Frances Rosengren, 89, San Angelo, Texas , formerly of Vienna, who died May 8, 2001.

She was born May 15, 1911, in Vienna, a daughter of George and Lizette Struemph.

Survivors include: one son, John H. Struemph, Jackson, Miss.; three brothers, Clement Struemph, San Angelo, Norbert Struemph,  Jefferson City, and Al Struemph, Waynesville; and two sisters, Loretta Corey, Littleton, N.H., and Odelia Hevessey, Tampa, Fla.

Arrangements were under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home, San Angelo.

SHEEHAN

Gerald Ellis "Jerry" Sheehan, 65, Tebbetts, died May 18, 2001, in Holts Summit.

He was born Nov. 18, 1935, in St. Louis, a son of John H. and Margaret Louise Reinhimer Sheehan. He was married June 30, 1958, in Kansas City, to Katherine Ann Garrison, who died Feb. 1, 1997.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a security guard for the Missouri Department of Corrections for 20 years before his retirement.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association. During the 1980s he served as a volunteer deputy for the Callaway County Sheriff's Department.

Survivors include: three sons, John Wilson Sheehan, Kansas City, Tony Lee Sheehan, Holts Summit, and Chad Ellis Sheehan, Mokane; one daughter, Tonya Lynns, Eubank, Ky.; three sisters; one brother; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services with military honors by VFW Post 2657 will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Middle River Cemetery, near Tebbetts. Bruce Williamson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit.

RIEDEL

Walter Riedel, 68, Eldon, died May 17, 2001, in Eldon.

He was born March 30, 1933, in St. Louis, a son of Charles and Ethel Lee Riedel. He was married Nov. 29, 1997, in Eldon, to Amanda Link, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran and a truck driver, he retired from Roadway Express after 33 years. He was a resident of the Eldon area for 15 years.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Christine Mary Riedel, Licking; one son, Mark Charles Riedel, Licking; one stepson, Raymond R. St. George, Eldon; three stepdaughters, Mary Ann Whisman, Goshen, Ohio, Jean M. Allen, Corpus Christi, Texas , and Kimberly A. Simmons, Eldon; two sisters, Doris L. Hubbartt, Maryland Heights, and Sharon J. Wright, Overland; one brother, Don L. Riedel, High Ridge; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett. Chaplain Bart Larson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

LEONARD

Harold P. Leonard, 83, Tipton, died May 18, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born July 3, 1917, in Moniteau County, a son of Joseph L. and Maude Grace Medlin Leonard. He was married Dec. 21, 1944, in Kansas City, Kan., to Lillith Williams, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of Latham High School. He worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections as a corrections officer, retiring in 1988. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Tipton.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a POW.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Dusty Klein and the Rev. Steve Jones will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Hickman Cemetery, Clarksburg.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society-Moniteau Unit, in care of Judy Allee, P.O. Box 333, Latham, Mo., 65050.
