MONTAVY
Larry Lee Montavy, 59, Gravois Mills, died Nov. 11, 2001, at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born Aug. 30, 1942, in Kansas City, a son of Lawrence L. and Doris E. Davis Montavy. His mother survives in Eldon. His stepmother, Georgia Montavy, survives in Independence. He was married March 10, 1961, to Cheryl C. Harsh, who survives at the home.
He worked for Ford Motor Company at the Claycomo Plant. A Navy veteran, he was a member of the United Auto Workers.
Other survivors include: three sons, Douglas Wayne Montavy, Fortuna, Donald Eugene Montavy, Versailles, and Joseph Montavy, Stover; two daughters, Kimberly Kay Coon, Eldon, and Laura Jean Taylor, Cameron, Texas ; five brothers, Raymond Montavy and Leonard "Sonny" Montavy, both of Eldon, Michael W. Montavy and Danny Paul Montavy, both of Oak Grove, and Kenneth Montavy, Kansas City; five sisters, Earlene Barker and Beverly Warren, both of Independence, Laddonna Way, Excelsior Springs, Joyce May and Nina Platz, both of Eldon; and nine grandchildren.
Two sons, David Lee Montavy and Larry Gene Montavy, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial with military honors will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
EDEN
Tonya Eden, 34, Camdenton, died Nov. 9, 2001, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
Arrangements are incomplete at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
PRITCHETT
Barbara Pritchett, 62, Gravois Mills, died Nov. 10, 2001, at Osage Beach Health Care Center, Osage Beach.
Arrangements are incomplete at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
BEDNARIK
Josephine Marie Bednarik, 87, Camdenton, died Nov. 8, 2001, at the Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton.
She was born July 13, 1914, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a daughter of Joe and Pearl Pruden Malik. She was married June 15, 1935, to John Bednarik, who died April 19, 1999.
They lived in Bettendorf, Iowa, until 1956, then moved to Albuquerque, N.M., before retiring and moving to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1972.
Although primarily a homemaker, she worked as a supermarket meat wrapper for several years.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Camdenton.
She also belonged to the Over 50s Club and the Camdenton Senior Center.
Survivors include: two sons, John Bednarik Jr., Freedom, Maine, and Frank Bednarik, Camdenton; two daughters, Patricia Doyle, Davenport, Iowa, and Nancy Register, Bangor, Maine; a brother, George Malik, Joliet, Ill., two sisters, Mildred Hughes, Bettendorf, Iowa, and Edna Keeney, Silvis, Ill., seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Camdenton. The Rev. James Fuemmeler will officiate. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Monday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
PUTNAM
Bessie P. Putnam, 79, Jefferson City, died Nov. 12, 2001, at the Villa Marie Nursing Center.
She was born Jan. 24, 1922, in Linn Creek, a daughter of Leslie S. and Edna Keowen Patterson. She was married July 12, 1939, in Camdenton, to Marvin Putnam, who died March 30, 1970.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, she attended school in Linn Creek. She was homemaker and worked in the Planning Division of the Missouri Highway Department for 20 years until her retirement in 1992.
She was a member of the Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary R. Putnam and Phillip M. Putnam, both of Jefferson City; one daughter, Shirley J. Geiser, Jefferson City; two brothers, Louis Patterson, Jefferson City, and Raymond Patterson, Tennessee; nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Greg Morrow will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the Community Hospice of America, Columbia.
BUCHHOLZ
Becky A. Buchholz, 38, Jefferson City, died Nov. 12, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Oct. 15, 1963, in St. Louis, a daughter of Charles and Jane Buchholz. Her mother survives in Florissant.
She was operations manager at Central Technology Services.
Other survivors include: one brother, Charles Buchholz, and two sisters, Barbara Momeno and Karen Tucker.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, St. Louis. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Cathedral, Jefferson City.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Thursday at Stygar Florissant Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to Masses.
JUSTUS
Services were Tuesday for Richard L. Justus, 48, Eldon, who died Nov. 10, 2001, in Jefferson City.
He was born Jan. 10, 1953, in Eldon, a son of Carl and Betty Wood Rentschler. His mother survives in Eldon. He was married to Deborah Justus, who preceded him in death. He was married May 3, 1996, in Eldon, to Charlene Horseman, who survives at the home.
He was self-employed as a high rise window washer and a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church of Eldon.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Laura J. Drew, Osage Beach, and Victoria N. Justus, O'Fallon; one son, David M. French, St. Charles; one sister, Peggy Nunez, Kaiser; one brother, Virgil Justus, Eldon; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were at Tol Wood Cemetery, Eldon. The Rev. John Shifflett officiated.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Arrangements were under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home.
KEITEL
Fred A. Keitel, 82, Jefferson City, died Nov. 13, 2001, at Beverly Health Care Center.
He was born Oct. 14, 1919, in Hildesheim, Germany, a son of August and Luisa Brunscheen Keitel. He was married in Jefferson City to Ruby Eggers, who preceded him in death. He was married in 1979 in Jefferson City to Joyce Gillilan, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he lived in Jefferson City since 1945. He owned and operated Keitel Television Service for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Other survivors include: one son, Keith F. Keitel, Los Angeles; two daughters, Jenny Fritz, Minneapolis, and Sharon Preston, Del Ray Beach, Fla.; two stepsons, Larry D. Schrader, California, and Mike E. Schrader, Jefferson City; one stepdaughter, Laurel Rudzik, Fullerton, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Matthew Brooks will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Association, or to Peace Lutheran Church.
TRUTNA
Charles Daniel Trutna, 59, Syracuse, died Nov. 10, 2001, at Bothwell Regional Hospital, Sedalia.
He was born April 9, 1942, in Silver Lake, Minn., a son of Daniel and Helen Hawlish Trutna.
He moved from Minnesota to Cole Camp in 1933, and then to Syracuse in 1944, where he farmed and was a truck driver for Daggett Truck Line for 19 years. He had worked at Gates Rubber Co., Versailles, for the past six years. He was an Armed Forces veteran.
Survivors include one sister, of Minnesota.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. Dusty Klein will officiate. The body was cremated.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday.
