WESTMORELAND

Connie G. Westmoreland, 100, Four Seasons, died Feb. 22, 2002, in Lake Ozark.

She was born June 23, 1901, in Everton, a daughter of Rev. Edgar H. and Bertha Hughes Gum. She was married to William H. Westmoreland, who preceded her in death.

She lived in Modesto, Calif., where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was co-owner of the L.T. Moss Insurance Agency for 32 years. She was a life member of the Modesto Soroptimist Club and Del Rio Golf and Country Club. She lived in Four Seasons for the past 11 years.

Survivors include: one brother, Rowland H. Gum, Four Seasons.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Lake Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The Rev. Colleen Carroll will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Liver Foundation.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

THOMPSON

Laura Sedonia Thompson, 80, Russellville, died Feb. 24, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 18, 1921, in Lohman, a daughter of John J. and Lena C. Schubert Buchta. She was married June 20, 1945, in Russellville, to Arthur Thompson, who survives at the home.

She attended Mt. Hope School near Lohman and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville.

Other survivors include: two sons, Sam Thompson, Wyoming, Minn., and Paul Thompson, Russellville; one sister, Rozene Koestner, Russellville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Nancy Oliver will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to the Heisinger Lutheran Home,  Jefferson City.

DAVENPORT

Charles Edward "Ed" Davenport, 83, Versailles, died Feb. 24, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Jan. 5, 1919, in Miller County, a son of George A. and Bitha Jane Lowery Davenport. He was married Feb. 1, 1941, to Berbia Mae Huff, who died April 15, 1997.

He was a truck driver. He was a police officer for the city of Versailles and city marshal for the Stover Police Department. He was a member of the Missouri Sheriff's Association.

Survivors include: four sons, James Davenport, Sedalia, Herschel Davenport, Plattsburg, Charles Davenport, Versailles, and David Davenport, St. Joseph; two daughters, Ruby Davenport, Versailles, and Sandra McKinzie, Gravois Mills; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Evelyn Sue Davenport, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Roy Bennett will officiate. Burial will be in Dooley Cemetery near Eldon.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

EISENREICH

Carl E. Eisenreich, 80, Camdenton, died Feb. 25, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

He was born Dec. 19, 1921, in St. Louis, a son of Henry and Ada Eisenreich. He was married Feb. 19, 1944, in St. Louis, to Dorothy Ellen Senn, who died April 9, 2001.

He was a member of United Methodist Church in Camdenton. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Lake Valley Country Club and Old Kinderhook Country Club.

Survivors include: one son, Robert Eisenreich, Overland Park, Kan.; one daughter, Sandra Oetting, Concordia; one sister, Virginia Schroeder, state of Texas ; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Bob Hickman will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Concordia. The Rev. Gary Clayton will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday.

HUGHES

Ray Edward Hughes, 69, Roach, died Feb. 22, 2002, at his home.

He was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Huffman, Ark., a son of Rex Sr. and Hester Swafford Hughes. He was married Nov. 12, 1954, to Phyllis Marie Dickerson, who survives at the home.

He attended school in the Huffman area. He worked in the cotton fields and was a Marine veteran. He moved to Wichita, Kan., where he worked in a brick masonry and became a master brick mason. In 1981, he moved to the Lake and did brick and rock work before retiring. He was a member of Ozark Bethel Chapel.

Survivors include: one son, Christopher Hughes, Climax Springs; three daughters, Sherry Griffin, Wichita, Renee Dake, Eldon, and Regina Hughes, Roach; one brother, Rex Hughes, state of Arkansas; one sister, Patty Counce, state of Mississippi; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ozark Bethel Chapel. John Park will officiate. Burial will be in Mose Clark Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

KIRKWOOD

Vernon L. Kirkwood, 73,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 25, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born April 24, 1928, in Indianapolis, a son of Richard F. and Vera F. Mortsoff Kirkwood. He was married Jan. 24, 1962, in  Jefferson City, to Emilie Pietraschke, who died Dec. 2, 2001.

He attended Immanuel High School in Indianapolis. He served in the Navy for four years and then served in the Army from 1950 until his retirement in 1972. He earned two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.

He then worked for General Motors Company in Indianapolis for 20 years, retiring in 1992. A resident of the  Jefferson City area for ten years, he was an ordained Methodist minister and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Carolyn Beck,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Mary Ellen Walker, Greenwood, Ind., and Shirley Ann Kirkwood, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. L. Kyle Hern and the Rev. Janet Hoyland will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the Youth Ministry at the First United Methodist Church.

UNDERWOOD

Glenn Gail Underwood, 59, Macks Creek, died Feb. 23, 2002, at his home.

He was born Feb. 12, 1943, in Blue Mound, Kan., a son of Cecil and Hazel Hostetter Underwood. His mother survives in Ft. Scott, Kan. He was married Aug. 10, 1967, to Sally Croan, who survives at the home.

He graduated from high school in Blue Mound in 1961. He moved to Missouri in 1968 and lived in the Gladstone area.

He was a truck driver for more than 20 years and owned and operated a car wash for several years.

He moved to the Lake in 1999 and helped at the Lake Area Helping Hands Homeless Shelter.

Survivors include: two sons, Marc Underwood, Louisburg, and Aaron Underwood, Camdenton; one brother, D.L. Underwood, Andover, Kan.; one sister, Debbie Goodner, Chanute, Kan.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. John Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Macks Creek.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-l p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to Lake Area Helping Hands Shelter.

WALTON

Julie Ann Walton, 50, Sunrise Beach, died Feb. 22, 2002.

She was born Feb. 23, 1951, in Red Wing, Minn., a daughter of Albert and Mariam Swanson Bergerson. Her father survives in Lake Ozark. She was married May 19, 1973, in Kansas City, to Bill Walton, who survives at the home.

She had lived in Coon Rapids, Minn., and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1969. She worked at IMI Cornelius. She moved to Liberty and then in 1986 moved to the Lake of the Ozarks.

She was a homemaker. She was promotions director for KCVO Radio and was DJ of the Sunday show "Morning Light." She was active in Mom's In Touch. She was director of Praise Night, Cross-Over, Lake Crusade, Torch Bearer Intercession and was co-organizer of the National Day of Prayer. She was a member of Heartland Worship Center where she taught Sunday school. She coordinated Vacation Bible School.

Survivors include: one son, Ben Walton, Sunrise Beach; and one daughter, Cassie Walton, Sunrise Beach.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Main Street Music Hall Theater. Pastor Jerry O'Dell and Pastor Tom Ovington will officiate. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Worship Center Building Fund.

HUTCHISON

Bertha Geraldine "Geri" Hutchison, 73, Sedalia, died Feb. 26, 2002, in Sedalia.

She was born July 24, 1928, in Kansas City, a daughter of Charles Hughes and Bertha Lankford Suedmeyer. Her mother survives in Chico, Calif. She was married May 1, 1966, in  Oklahoma, to John G. Hutchison Sr., who died Dec. 17, 2000.

She worked as an office clerk for a telephone company. She was a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneers of America and a past member of VFW, the Disabled American Veterans and Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include: two sons, Donald Hutchison, Eldon, and John Hutchison, Blue Springs; one daughter, Bonnie Hutchison, Eldon; four sisters, Allene Schwartz, Chico, Darlene Rinehart, Hollister, Mary Hargrove, Chino, Calif., and Bonnie Doerflinger, Centerview; three half sisters, Linda Hosman, Juanita Blaubelt and Rebecca Gorley, all of Independence; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

One great-grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Bill Talley will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to Bothwell Regional Health Center Hospice, 601 East 14th St., Sedalia, Mo. 65301.
