MARTIN
Walter Carl "Curley" Martin, 86, Fulton, died April 1, 2002, at Fulton Manor Care Center.
He was born Nov. 9, 1915, in Boone County, a son of Walter and Laura Frances Strodes Martin. He was married March 23, 1935, in Boone County, to Hazel Hickam, who died Dec. 14, 1996.
He was a self-employed electrician and plumber. He was a member of the Ashland Baptist Church. He served on the Ashland School Board and the Ashland Town Board.
Survivors include: one son, Larry Joe Martin, Fulton; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. The Rev. Jim West will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Ashland.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to Ashland Baptist Church or the Southern Boone County Senior Center in Ashland.
STAMPER
Lula Marie Stamper, 79, Linn Creek, died March 30, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Cove, Ark., a daughter of Richard A. and Leona Howel Spencer. She was married Nov. 1, 1955, to William Morgan Stamper, who survives at the home.
She graduated from high school in Linn Creek. She was a cook and worked in many area restaurants including Tan-Tar-A before retiring from Dogwood Hills Country Club. She was a Baptist.
Other survivors include: one son, Robin Stamper, Linn Creek; two sisters, Eula Stennett, Rocky Mount, and Lucille Meyer, Maryland Heights; and two granddaughters.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
BRASSFIELD
Dorothy L. Davis Brassfield, 81, Willow Springs, died March 31, 2002, at Willow Care Nursing Home, Willow Springs.
She was born Jan. 21, 1921, in Greer, a daughter of James and Eliza Campbell Bell. She was married May 18, 1939, in Greer, to Herbert J. Davis, who died Sept. 12, 1974. She was married in 1988 to Thomas Albert Brassfield, who died Oct. 11, 1997.
An Alton High School graduate, she worked for the Rose Cliff Hotel in Van Buren, the Paramount Cap Factory in Wynona, and Curtis's Clothing Store in Willow Springs. She was a member of Pomona Christian Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: two sons, Joe Davis, Jefferson City, and James B. Davis, St. James; one daughter, Carolyn Sue Scoville, Mount Vernon, Ill.; four stepsons, Ken Brassfield, Leon Brassfield, Bill Brassfield and Cecil Brassfield; five stepdaughters, Linda Dean, Valerie Bartlett, Roberta Weldy, Dian Perkins and Tammy Thacker; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
One granddaughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Willow Funeral Home, Willow Springs. Rick Wheeler and Rick Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Montier Cemetery, Montier.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
BROWN
James L. Brown, 81, Etterville, died March 31, 2002, in Etterville.
He was born July 5, 1920, in Etterville, a son of Daniel and Bessie Carrender Brown. He was married Feb. 16, 1941, in Atchison, Kan., to Esther Louise Scholz Brown, who survives at the home.
He lived in Atchison, and worked for Pillsbury Mills in Atchison and then for the state penitentiary in Lansing, Kan.
He returned to Etterville and worked for the Department of Corrections until he retired.
He was a member of the Etterville Christian Church. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans in Jefferson City and Eldon VFW Post 2442.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Norma Jean Scott, Etterville; one sister, Marie Wilson, Etterville; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
One son, Robert L. Brown, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Etterville Christian Church. The Rev. Borys Boyuk will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Eldon.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.
Memorials are suggested to Show Me Christian Youth Home.
PROCK
Theodore R. Prock, 89, Eugene, died April 2, 2002, in Jefferson City.
Arrangements are incomplete at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
SETSER
Arthur Setser, 89, Iberia, died April 1, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 2, 1912, near Iberia, a son of A.W. and Susie Shackelford Setser. He was married Dec. 21, 1935, in Waynesville, to Ethel Mae Dodd, who died Jan. 20, 1979. He was married Aug. 4, 1979, in Iberia, to Ora Keeth Ponder, who died Dec. 23, 1995.
He owned and operated a used car lot and later worked for Perkins and Eads Motor Co. in Iberia.
He was a member of Iberia First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Gary Setser, Mitchell, Ill.; two daughters, Norma Petty, Granite City, Ill., and Judy Ann Setser, St. Louis; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Glen Golden will officiate. Burial will be in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Livingston Cemetery.
ALLEN
Mary C. Allen, 90, Abilene, Texas , died March 29, 2002, in Abilene.
She was born Dec. 11, 1911, in Barnett, a daughter of Elmer and Pearl Bee Ratcliff. She was married Feb. 12, 1931, in Barnett, to Shirley V. Allen, who died March 20, 2000.
A homemaker, she worked for the Tweedie Corporation during World War II. She was the last surviving member of the Prairie Quilting Club, established in 1942, and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
A lifelong resident of Morgan County, she moved to Abilene last year.
Survivors include: one son, Leo Eugene Allen, Tonganoxie, Kan.; one daughter, Donna Sue Allen Underwood, Abilene; one sister, Dorothy Marie Brown, Kansas City; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Minister Tom Farrington will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the March of Dimes or Hendrick Hospice of Abilene.
LUEBBERT
Virgil Theodore Luebbert, 67, Columbia, died April 1, 2002, in Columbia.
He was born April 8, 1934, in Taos, a son of Emil F. and Paula Mary Talken Luebbert. He was married Oct. 9, 1954, in Jefferson City, to Ruby Laughlin.
He retired from Butternut Bread as a route deliveryman.
He was an Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include: three sons, Michael Luebbert, Columbia, Darrell Luebbert, Boonville, N.Y., and Gary Luebbert, Kansas City; two daughters, Brenda Luebbert, Columbia, and Barbara Meyer, Ballwin; two brothers, Fred Luebbert, Taos, and Walter Luebbert, Jefferson City; and eight grandchildren.
Private family graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia.

LUEHR
Dr. Walter E. Luehr, 67, Owensville, died April 1, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 21, 1934, in Akron, Ohio, a son of Walter E. Sr. and Esther Moore Luehr.
He was a general practitioner and a member of Owensville Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Fredrick Luehr, Rifle, Colo.; one stepson, Victor Schaefferkoetter, Thayne, Wyo.; three stepdaughters, Tammy Senter, Gallatin, Tenn., and Robin Schaefferkoetter and Gaylynn Brandon, both of Owensville; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville. Pastor Andrew Jasper will officiate. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens.
PARKER
Roy Gene "Arkie" Parker, 67, Sunrise Beach, died March 29, 2002, at the VA Hospital, Fayetteville, Ark.
He was born April 25, 1934, in Edgecombe County, N.C., a son of James R. and Mary Louise Fuller Parker. He was married in 1955, to Willa L. "Billie" Phillips, who survives.
He was an Air Force veteran. After his discharge, he lived in Sedalia until 1966 and then moved to Kansas City. In 1970, he moved to Sunrise Beach, where he owned and operated Roy's Bobcat Service until his retirement.
Other survivors include: one son, Bob Parker, Sunrise Beach; three daughters, Cindy Stone, Sunrise Beach, Vickie Parker, Columbia, and Cathy Wright, Osage Beach; two brothers, Robert Parker, Gaston, N.C., and Cecil Parker, Whitakers, N.C.; three sisters, Peggy Cutter, Fayetteville, Dorothy Hagle, Alberton, Mont., and Linda Capshaw, Whitakers; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 6 p.m. April 26, at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
