SALING
Donald Saling, 72, Portland, died April 4, 2002, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital.
He was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Callaway County, a son of Warner R. and Theresa Holzhauser Saling. He was married May 7, 1954, to Norma Jean Scott, who died April 19, 1991.
He worked with heavy equipment in construction, was a dump truck driver and a farmer. He was a member of the Mokane AmVets Post 1053.
Survivors include: one daughter, Vickie Catalina, Fulton; one sister, Dorothy Bridges, Portland.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Seamus Doyle will officiate. Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

TRIGGS
Richard Robinson Triggs, 67, Camdenton, died April 4, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital.
He was born Dec. 22, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Willard R. and Letitia Russell Wilson Triggs. He was married to Patricia Danuser, who survives at the home.
He graduated in 1953 from Shaker Heights High School in Ohio. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich. He owned and operated KFBD Radio station B98 AM & FM in Waynesville for 20 years. An Army veteran, he was a Presbyterian and a Baptist.
Survivors include: one daughter, Heather Carpenter, Blue Springs; one sister, Lydia A. Mitchell, Erie, Pa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton. The Rev. Dean Rooffener and the Rev. Jim Millstead will officiate. Burial with full military rites will be in Allee Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to Lake Regional Health Systems Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center.
HUME
Claribel Eugenia "Jean" Hume, 82, Versailles, died April 5, 2002, in Columbia.
She was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Paola, Kan., a daughter of Willard C. and Margaret Ellen Niles Bowman.
She was married April 27, 1940, in Kansas City, Kan., to William F. "Bill" Hume, who died June 10, 1992.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Versailles, Morgan County O.A.T.S., the Morgan County Democrat Club and the Versailles Senior Citizens. She had served as president of several PTAs, was a Cub Scout den mother and a volunteer for the well-baby clinic in Kansas City.
Survivors include two sons: William Hume, Stover, and Gary Hume, Columbia; two daughters, Barbara Scott, San Juan Capistrano, Calif., and Mary Champion, Corpus Christi, Texas ; a brother, W.C. Bowman, Paola, Kan., 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Versailles Cemetery. The Rev. Jeannie Leeper will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

WILSON
Frances Lee Wilson, 66, Fulton, died April 5, 2002, in Fulton.
She was born June 14, 1935, in Fulton, a daughter of Lee and Beulah Gingrich O'Neal.
She was a registered nurse and had worked for the Fulton State Hospital for 24 years. She was a member of the Callaway Christian Church, Fulton.
Survivors include: five daughters, Janice Gaebe, New Bloomfield, Suzanne Davis and Mary Stone, both of Fulton, Jayne Yager, Mexico, and Lori Smith of Columbus, Ga.; two sons, Mark Davis, New Bloomfield, and John Alexander-Davis, Fulton; 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Debo Funeral Home. The Rev. Eldon Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to cancer research.
VANCE
Betty Lou Vance, 73, Osage Beach, died April 4, 2002, in Osage Beach.
She was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Hamilton, a daughter of Orvis and Vera Anderson Streeter.
She was married April 15, 1955, in Polo to Cecil Vance, who died April 16, 1972.
She was a homemaker and member of the Riverview Baptist Church, Osage Beach.
Survivors include a brother, Ralph Streeter, Linn Creek, and a sister, Vivian Streeter, Osage Beach.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hedges Funeral Home Lake Chapel, Osage Beach. The Rev. Chuck Phillips will officiate.
Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.
BELT
Billy Belt, 61, California, died April 6, 2002, in California.
He was born June 16, 1939, in Cole County, a son of Melvin and Edna Carrender Belt.
He was married April 23, 1960, in Moniteau County to Donna Christine Parish, who survives of the home.
He was a laborer for Korte's Rock Quarry, California. He believed in the Baptist faith.
He was a US Army veteran. He attended Centertown School.
Survivors include three sons: Willie Belt and Scotty Belt, both of Clarksburg, and Randy Belt, California; two daughters, Suzie Belt and Brenda Barnhill, both of California; two brothers, Robert Belt and Leon Belt, both of Centertown; two sisters, Jewell Harris and Joann Reed, both of California; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services Monday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Ken Mathes will officiate. Burial will be in Centertown Cemetery, Centertown.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

KRAUS
Freeman Kraus, 88, Russellville, died April 8, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born March 25, 1914, in Russellville, a son of John T. and Laura Ellen Rhoads Kraus. He was married June 8, 1941, to Thelma Dawson Kraus, who died April 7, 1996.
He attended school in Russellville and graduated in 1933 from Olean High School. He owned and operated a small trucking business and a feed store in the Enon community. He operated a farm in the Enon community from 1948 until 1979. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church near Russellville, where he served as a deacon. He recently retired from the board of directors of the Community Bank in Russellville and the board of trustees of the Enloe Cemetery.
Survivors include: one daughter, Martha DeEllen Jobe, Jefferson City; one sister, Ona Wade, Calif.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Russellville. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville.
Memorials are suggested to the Enloe Cemetery or Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
NEFF
Margarita S. Neff, 82, Iberia, died April 7, 2002, at Lake Ozark Retirement Center at Ozark Meadows.
She was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Meoqui Chihuahua, Mexico, a daughter of Sostenes and Consuelo Marshall Sanchez. She was married Nov. 19, 1948, in Crockett, Calif., to Frank N. Neff, who survives at the home.
She graduated from Oakland Business College in Oakland, Calif. She was a homemaker. She attended Brays Advent Christian Church and was a Catholic. She was a member the Order of the Eastern Star, Miramar Chapter 205 in Richmond, Calif., and past guardian of the International Order of Job's Daughters Bethel 149 of Pinole-Hercules, Calif. She was past president of the Homemaker Extension Club of Iberia.
Survivors include: one son, Frank N. Neff, Jr., Susanville, Calif.; three daughters, Linda A. Butler, Iberia, Margarita R. Neff-Heinrich, Goettingen, Germany, and Marlene L. Holmes, Oakdale, Calif.; one brother, Joe Sanchez, Crockett, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date in California. The body will be cremated.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
ROETTGEN
Angela A. "Sis" Roettgen, 83, Jefferson City, died April 7, 2002, at Oak View Living Center.
She was born March 24, 1919, in Frankenstein, a daughter of Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Wibberg Kremer. She was married July 5, 1947, in Frankenstein, to John Henry Roettgen, who died on June 17, 1992.
She attended schools in Frankenstein and Bonnots Mill. She was a homemaker and also worked at Veit's Restaurant and Tweedies Footwear Corporation. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the St. Ann's Sodality.
Survivors include: three sons, Robert John Roettgen, Kenneth Joseph Roettgen, and Samuel R. Roettgen, all of Holts Summit; one daughter, Joan Marie Gill, Jefferson City; one brother, Hugo Kremer, Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
One grandchild preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Greg Higley will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Buescher Memorial Home.
Memorials are suggested to Masses or to the American Diabetes Association.
