CURTISS
Victoria Curtiss, 85, Springfield, died June 3, 2002, in Springfield.
She was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Owensville, a daughter of Anthony F. and Isabelle Butler Fisher. She was married April 8, 1948, in Blytheville, Ark., to Donald West Curtiss Sr., who died May 23, 1977.
She retired from Chesebrough Pond's after 15 years. She attended Eldon United Methodist Church. She lived in Etterville from 1948 to 1978 when she moved to Springfield.
Survivors include: two sons, Donald W. Curtiss Jr., Lee's Summit, and Michael Craig Curtiss, Nixa; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery, Eldon.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
MELVILLE
Joyce Marie Callison Melville, 61, Madison, Wis., formerly of Jefferson City, died May 31, 2002, in Madison.
She was born May 16, 1941, in Boonville, a daughter of Charles Callison and Ruth Woolsey. Her mother survives in West Haven, Conn. Her stepmother, Amy Callison, survives in Jefferson City. She was married to Robert Melville, who survives.
She also lived in Prairie Home and Boonville and graduated from high school in Boonville in 1959. She studied at University of Maryland, Columbia University and the University of California, Berkley. She taught in the English departments of University of North Dakota, the University of Illinois, Chicago, and since 1982, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Bryony Taylor; two brothers, Stuart Callison and Mark Woolsey; and one sister, Bettye Ruth Palermo.
Private family services will be Sunday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cress-Madison Funeral & Cremation Service.
McKEE
Services were Monday for Ronald Dwayne McKee, 68, Santa Barbara, Calif., formerly of Centertown, who died May 29, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 27, 1934, in Centertown, a son of Patrick and Lela Shannon McKee. He was married to Judy Weimer, who survives at the home.
He was a 1952 graduate of California High School and graduated from the University of Missouri.
An Army veteran, he worked as an IBEW electrician until his retirement in 1978.
Other survivors include: one son, Jeff McKee, Santa Barbara, Calif.; one daughter, Barbara Kimball, Foothill Ranch, Calif.; one brother, Ralph McKee, Centertown; two sisters, Marjorie McDaniel, Santa Barbara, and Wanda Haworth, Centertown; and two grandchildren.
Services were in Santa Barbara. Burial was in Goleta Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the hospice.
Arrangements were under the direction of Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Home, Santa Barbara.
LUECKENOTTE
Clarence L. Lueckenotte, 84, Jefferson City, died June 4, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 4, 1918, in Mary's Home, a son of Gerhardt and Katherine Monet Lueckenotte. He was married Dec. 14, 1940, in Union, to Henrietta Cortvrient, who died Oct. 11, 1994.
He worked as a carpenter for Scheperle Construction for 44 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a 54-year member of the Carpenter Union Local 945. He was a member of Carpenter Retiree Union 95 and VFW Post 1003. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy A. Zimmerman, Jefferson City, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. The Rev. John Hobratschk will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
MURPHY
Dorothy L. Murphy, 74, California, died June 3, 2002, at Columbia Region Hospital, Columbia.
She was born June 16, 1927, in California, a daughter of Ernest "Jack" and Edna May Heather Pace. She was married April 2, 1945, in California, to James H. Murphy, who died Jan. 23, 1981.
A homemaker, she worked as a machine operator at Tipton Shoe Factory and as a clerk at Places. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, California; the Eagles Auxiliary 4027; CB Club of California; and the Women's Bowling Association.
Survivors include: two sons, Richard Murphy, California, and Robert Murphy, Vancleave, Miss.; two daughters, Patti Wilcox, Blue Springs, and Barb Vaughan, California; three brothers, Donald Pace, Charlie Pace and Jackie Pace, all of California; four sisters, Viola Yates, Margaret Koenke and Virginia Potter, all of California, and Betty Zimmerman, Mexico; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Main Street Baptist Church. The Rev. Ken Mathes will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.

ROGERS
Louis Allen "Lou" Rogers, 71, Fulton, died June 4, 2002, at his home.
He was born April 19, 1931, in Morse Mill, a son of Louis and Lottie Wideman Rogers. He was married July 28, 1956, in East St. Louis, Ill., to Marvine Hudson, who survives.
He served in the Marines and worked as an electrician.
Other survivors include one son, John Rogers, Mexico, one sister, Dorothy Rogers, St. Louis, and two grandchildren.
One son, Douglas Allen Rogers, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.
SALMONS
Sallie Almira Salmons, 88, Fulton, died June 3, 2002, at Callaway Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Fulton, a daughter of William K. Truitt and Annie Elizabeth Freeman Martin. She was married April 5, 1935, in Fulton, to James Salmons, who survives.
She was a cutter at International Shoe Company and a member of the Church of God Holiness.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Betty Halsey and Jane Cameron, both of Fulton, and Mary Martin, York, Pa.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
One son, James H. Salmons Jr., preceded her in death.
Private family services will be held.

SCHNIEDERS
Melissa Ann Schnieders, 28, Jefferson City, died June 4, 2002, at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
She was born July 23, 1973, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Glenn P. and Elaine R. Phillips Schnieders. Her father, Glenn P. Schnieders, and her mother, Elaine R. Kimbrough, both survive in Jefferson City.
She was a 1994 graduate of the Kirchner State School for the Handicapped.
Survivors include: two stepbrothers, William J. Kimbrough, St. Augustine, Fla., and Artie Shelley Kimbrough III, Bellville, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Alma Phillips, Osage Beach and paternal grandmother, Helen Schnieders, Wardsville.
A private family service will be held.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary.
WILLIS
Lester F. Willis, 82, Holts Summit, died June 2, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Friend, Neb., a son of Floyd and Margaret Heinzman Willis. He was married June 23, 1938, in Jefferson City, to Lucille Stark, who died April 23, 1986. He was married in 2000, in Fulton, to Thelma Wilson, who survives in Holts Summit.
He worked as a lay out man at DeLong's Steel in Jefferson City for 25 years. A former California resident, he was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include: four daughters, Marian Hurtubise, Excelsior Springs, Margaret "Peggy" Simmers, Clarksburg, Susie Thompson, Columbia, and Marlena "Kay" Dowell, Versailles; two brothers, Claire Willis, state of California, and Bob Willis, state of Michigan; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in California City Cemetery. The Rev. Rick Elliott will officiate.
