LOESCH

Hulda Rosine Loesch, 95,  Jefferson City, died June 26, 2002, at Heisinger Lutheran Home.

She was born Aug. 31, 1906, near Russellville, a daughter of Adam and Rosina Jungmeyer Jahreis. She was married Sept. 11, 1932, in Russellville, to Ernest George Paul Loesch, who died Jan. 17, 1998.

She attended the Enterprise school near Russellville, Russellville public school and Lohman parochial school. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Happy Hour Extension Club and the Happy Hour Neighbors Club, both in Cole County. She was a former 4-H leader in Cole County and was a founder of the Stringtown-Corinth 4-H Club. She served as home economics chairman at the Cole County Fair and also served on the Cole County 4-H Council.

She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active in the Ladies Aid and Trinity Lutheran Church in  Jefferson City where she was also active in the Ladies Aid.

She currently was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown and was active in Ladies Aid and the quilting circle.

Survivors include: one daughter, Candace Stockton,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Anna Heidbreder, Menlo Park, Calif., and Ruth Rossbach, Independence, Iowa; two grandsons; five step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 10 step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown. The Rev. Warren Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens,  Jefferson City.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown Building Fund or the Heisinger Lutheran Home.

MARSHALL

Lyle Marshall, 78, Roach, formerly of Dixon, died June 20, 2002, in Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.

He was born April 29, 1924, in Grand Island, Neb., a son of Herbert and Clara Philpot Marshall. He was married July 4, 1950, in Reno, Nev., to Arlene Sedgwick, who survives at the home.

A career Army veteran, he worked at Ft. Warren, Wyo., as a truck driver and then as a combat medic. He served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He retired in 1964 at Fort Riley, Kan., as a major in the quartermaster corps.

He was a member of the Dixon and Macks Creek Lions Clubs and was a past district governor.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Retired Officers Association and the Association of United States Army.

Survivors include: one son, Ronnie Marshall, Rolla; two daughters, Cynthia Veach, Dixon, and Wendy Conklin, Roach; one sister, Lorraine Jones, Denver; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

One son, Donnie Marshall, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Main Post Chapel, Fort Leonard Wood.

Arrangements are under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon.

MAY

Frank Lloyd May, 83, Rocky Mount, died June 25, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

He was born March 18, 1919, in North Venice, Ill., a son of Harry and Thelma Wampler. He was married in November 1941 to Juanita L. Persinger, who died in 2001.

He owned and operated a dental laboratory business for more than 61 years. He moved from North County, St. Louis, to Lake of the Ozarks in 1979. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include: one son, Frank L. May, Clawson, Mich.; one daughter, Nancy Wilkerson, Rocky Mount; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Farmington.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with a eulogy at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Cozean Funeral Home, Farmington.

Memorials are suggested to Camp Wonderland of Rocky Mount.

FERRIER

Virginia Louise Ferrier, 91, Linn, died June 26, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 16, 1911, in Linn, a daughter of Lafe and May Campbell Vaughan. She was married July 26, 1929, in Union, to Earl Ferrier, who died in August 1963.

She was a homemaker and, with her husband, owned and operated Jones and Ferrier Drug Store in Linn for almost 36 years. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Linn Chapter of Order of Eastern Star and the Osage County Historical Society.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lou Schulte, Linn, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

One son, David E. Ferrier, died May 14, 2000.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tony Townley will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Public Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's United Methodist Church or Osage County Historical Society.

MOBERLY

Mary O. Moberly, 59, Columbia, formerly of  Jefferson City, died June 26, 2002, in Columbia.

She was born June 23, 1943, in Excelsior Springs, a daughter of Robert A. Sr. and LaVerna L. Middleton Moberly.

She lived in  Jefferson City for 29 years, moving to Columbia in 1996. She worked as a child welfare administrator for the State of Missouri for 29 years and as a licensed child social worker with University of Missouri Hospital for one year.

Survivors include two daughters, Phoebe Gray and Sarah Nalley, both of Columbia, and one grandchild.

Services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Ms. Moberly's home.

Memorials are suggested to Pascal's Pals, in care of University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, One Hospital Drive, Columbia, Mo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia.

RODECAPE

Dora Emily Rodecape, 94, Fulton, died June 26, 2002, at Fulton Nursing & Rehab.

She was born Feb. 25, 1908, in Fulton, a daughter of Charles H. and Pearle Mayburn Mahoney Ausfahl. She was married in 1924 in Fulton to John Benjamin Sheley, who died in 1957.

She was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church, Fulton.

Survivors include one brother, Leslie Ausfahl, Fulton;

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to Court Street United Methodist Church.

SHALLENBERGER

Emma Sue Shallenberger, 73, Holts Summit, died June 26, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Izard County, Ark., a daughter of Joseph H. and Martha Emma Helm Rose.

She was a cook at a nursing home and a homemaker.

Survivors include: three daughters, Kathy Lowe, New Bloomfield, Julie Mitchell, Robinson, Ill., and Connie Tobin, Crestview, Fla.; one brother; three sisters; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date in Melbourne, Ark.

Arrangements are under the direction of Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit.

BECK

Erna F. Beck, 87, Holts Summit, died June 27, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Honey Creek, a daughter of Henry J. and Wanda Lehr Sommerer. She was married March 29, 1937, in Honey Creek, to O.D. Beck, who died March 25, 1987.

She was a cook at Simonsen Junior High School from 1957 until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School, Honey Creek.

Survivors include: two sons, James H. Beck, Holts Summit, and Stephen C. Beck,  Jefferson City; one daughter, Delores Mae "Dee" Beck,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Paul L. Sommerer, Honey Creek, and Otto Sommerer,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Ruth Sommerer, Honey Creek, and Helen Medler, Freeport, Ill.; and two step grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Hobratschk will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors and from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School.

ALLEN

Raymond Paul Allen, 48, Anchorage, Alaska, died June 12, 2002, in Anchorage.

He was born April 12, 1954, in  Jefferson City, a son of Raymond J. and Evelyn Fick Allen. His mother survives in Rich Fountain.

He moved to Anchorage in 1956. He was a carpet layer.

Other survivors include: five brothers, George Allen, Michael Allen, David Allen and Joseph Allen, all of Anchorage, and Jesse Allen, Columbia; and four sisters, Christine McNeese, Carol Davis and Catherine Walatka, all of Anchorage, and Canice Berke, Springfield.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, Rich Fountain. The remains were cremated. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Services were held June 14 at St. Benedicts Church, Anchorage.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kehls Mortuary, Anchorage.
