McCOWN
Helaine Kaye McCown, 49, Fulton, died Oct. 18, 2002, in Kimberling City.
She was born June 3, 1953, a daughter of Neal and Buanita Williams Miller. Her mother survives in Fulton. She was married to Bryan McCown, who survives at the home.
She was a graduate of Fulton High School and William Woods University. She was broker-owner of Miller Real Estate in Fulton. She was a member of Callaway Christian Church, Women's Network, Leadership Callaway and Callaway Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Jefferson City Area Board of Realtors and Audrain Board of Realtors. She served on the board of Presbyterian Manor. She was a founding member of the YMCA, a member of Parents Association of Fulton Band Boosters, and was past president and current treasurer of the Fulton Country Club. She was co-chair of the annual golf tournament for many years and was active in the Ladies Golf Association at the club.
Other survivors include: two sons, Sam Doerhoff and Brad Doerhoff, both of the home; stepdaughter, Katie McCown, Fulton; three sisters, Jeaneal Alexander, Sonia Cox, and Mikki Starmer, all of Fulton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Callaway Christian Church. The Rev. Eldon Wilson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton.
Memorials are suggested to Presbyterian Manor or the YMCA.
STEVENSON
James Elmer "Jim" Stevenson, 92, Stover, died Oct. 20, 2002, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.
He was born Feb. 15, 1910, in Stover, a son of Joseph and Dora Branch Stevenson. He was married Oct. 18, 1936, to Emma Sanders, who died March 12, 1981.
He was a laborer in the Stover area for most of his life. He lived at Golden Age Living Center for several years.
Survivors include 16 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Six grandchildren preceded him in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. The Rev. Dinzel Webb will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Golden Age Living Center.
JONES
Corliss L. Jones, 91, Jefferson City, died Oct. 20, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
Arrangements are at Freeman Mortuary.
BUSCHJOST
Lucy Elizabeth Buschjost, 86, St. Thomas, died Oct. 21, 2002, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
She was born Dec. 16, 1915, in Henley, a daughter of Anton and Victoria Saneke Loethen. She was married Nov. 20, 1945, in St. Thomas, to Herbert J. Buschjost, who died April 13, 2000.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Thomas. She was also a member of St. Ann's Sodality, the Over 50 Club and the St. Thomas Sewing Circle.
Survivors include: one son, Robert Anthony Buschjost, St. Thomas; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Markway, Eldon, and Jane Marie Green, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. The Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:30-8 p.m. today at the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall, St. Thomas, with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.
BROWNING
Joseph "Sid" Browning, 98, Camdenton, died Oct. 20, 2002, at Windsor Estates Convalescent Center, Camdenton.
He was born Nov. 13, 1903, in St. Mary's, Ky., a son of Fletcher and Sarah Miles Browning. He was married in 1924 in St. Louis to Margaret Diel, who died in 1986.
He was an electrician and a member of IBEW, Local 1, St. Louis.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jane Pawlak, Camdenton; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
One son, Kenneth Browning, and two daughters, Lorretta Browning and Marjorie Duepner, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Assumption Catholic Church, St. Louis. The Rev. Terry Borgerding will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Louis.

CHAMBERS
Helen Chambers, 74, Dixon, died Oct. 19, 2002, in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis.
She was born July 3, 1928, in Waynesville, a daughter of Roy and Ruby Deardeuff West. She was married Oct. 1, 1946, in Waynesville, to Claude Chambers, who died March 5, 1988.
A homemaker and farmer, she attended Victory Hill Baptist Church, Dixon. She also had attended Gasconade Baptist Church near Dixon.
Survivors include: two sons, Roy Chambers, Eustis, Fla., and Tony Chambers, Dixon; one daughter, Claudine Thiltgen, Dixon; three brothers, Lloyd West, Sullivan, Gary West, state of Nebraska, and Donley West, Waynesville; two sisters, Lois Wagoner, Dixon, and Betty Shay, state of Florida; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
One son, Ralph Chambers, died April 17, 1988.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. The Rev. Dennis Nichols and the Rev. Tom Maples will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery near Dixon.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today and noon-1 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Helen Chambers Memorial Fund.
ELSBERRY
Charles E. Elsberry, 84, Jefferson City, died Oct. 22, 2002, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born Feb. 4, 1918, in Red Rock, Okla., a son of Joe and Ruby Sloan Elsberry. He was married July 8, 1950, in Moberly, to Elizabeth "Betty" Flood, who survives at the home.
He attended schools in Madison. He worked as an electrician with Ott Electric for 40 years, retiring in 1983. He currently was working for Beasley Construction. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a member of American Legion Post 5 and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Charlotte Elsberry, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Patrick G. Dolan will officiate. Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
HUHMAN HUHMAN
Matthew Paul Huhman and Marcus Jeffrey Huhman, infant twin sons of Benjamin L. Huhman and Lindsay Marie Young, Jefferson City, died at birth, Oct. 20, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
Other survivors include: grandparents, Dr. Michael and Mary Young, Jefferson City, and Donald and Georgena Huhman, Williamsburg; and great-grandparents, Frances Huhman, and Dorothy Young, both of Jefferson City.
Graveside services will be at noon Wednesday in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle. The Rev. Brendan Doyle will officiate.
