HUENERGARDT
Audrey Ann Huenergardt, 60, Jefferson City, died Nov. 15, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Jan. 17, 1942, in Eugene, a daughter of Lewis T. and Ruth Hyde Ponder.
She was a lifelong resident of Central Missouri, and graduated from Helias High School in 1960. She was employed with the House of Representatives in the chief clerk's office for 30 years.
Survivors include: two sisters, Lois Mushrush, Jefferson City, and Norma Louise Henderson, Lancaster, Ohio; and one brother, Wayne Ponder, Iberia.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Freeman Chapel. The Rev. Shane Crum will officiate. Private graveside services also will be held, and burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid Missouri.
SANDFORT
Jane W. Sandfort, 81, Osage Beach, died Nov. 15, 2002, at Ozark Care Center.
She was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Hollis, Oklahoma, a daughter of Joe Wallace Watson and Alta Amanda White Watson. She was married to Leland Sandfort, who died Dec. 3, 1972.
She was employed as a accountant.
Survivors include: one son, Leland Sandfort of Eldon.
No services are planned at this time.
SLAVENS
Brenda Pauline Slavens, 43, Gravois Mills, died Nov. 15, 2002, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
She was born May 1, 1959, in Kansas City, a daughter of Alonzo and Ruby Hedges Talley Jr. Her mother survives in Sunrise Beach.
She was employed at Sunrise Cantina in Sunrise Beach.
Survivors include: one son, Kenneth Slavens, Sunrise Beach; one daughter, Jennifer Easton, Gravois Mills; one brother, David Talley, Sunrise Beach; two sisters, Patti Johnson, Gravois Mills, and Denise Dennis, Laurie; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie-Sunrise Beach Chapel. The Rev. Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Brenda Slavens Memorial Fund.
THOMAS
Joyce M. Thomas, 68, Lake Ozark, died Nov. 16, 2002, at Villa Marie Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 29, 1934, in Green City, a daughter of Robert and Neva Detwiler Downing. Her mother survives in Jefferson City. She was married July 2, 1952, in Harrison, Ark., to P. Spencer Thomas, who survives at the home.
She was a lifelong resident of Central Missouri, and a 1952 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She worked as a legal secretary with the Missouri Division of Transportation at the Public Service Commission for more than 30 years, until retiring in 1995.
Other survivors include: two sons, Randall Thomas, Jefferson City, and Matthew Thomas, Columbia; two daughters, Michelle Brown, Blue Springs, and Kellye Thomas, Columbia; five brothers, Leroy, Robert, Jr., John, and Harold Downing, all of Jefferson City, and Michael Downing, Springfield; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Freeman Chapel. The Rev. Bart Larson will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Missouri River Hospice.
DUDLEY
Stewart Raymond Dudley, 84, Jefferson City, died Nov. 17, 2002, in St. Louis.
He was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Sioux City, Iowa, a son of Raymond and Elizabeth Duus Dudley. He was married Feb. 22, 1947, in St. Louis, to Marion Peters, who survives.
He attended Iowa State University and UCLA. He was a salesman for United Guaranty Mortgage Insurance. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Schubert and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Schroeder, Jefferson City, and Barbara Saitz, St. Louis, and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church Schubert. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be after the service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City.
HARRIS
JoAnn C. "Golden" Harris, 54, Overland, died Nov. 16, 2002, in St. Louis.
She was born June 6, 1948, in Albert Lea, Minn., a daughter of LeRoy and Christine Ingvoldson Horan. She was married Nov. 19, 2000, in Jefferson City, to Lavan Harris, who survives at the home.
She was a nurse and a member of Solid Rock Family Church, Jefferson City.
Other survivors include: one son, Sgt. Donald Whitaker, Fairbanks, Alaska; one daughter, Deanne Porter, Eldon; one stepson, Dylan Harris, Columbia; one stepdaughter, Celinda Marshall, Columbia; three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Don Renken will officiate. Burial will be in Dooley Cemetery, Eldon.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested in care of the family.
LATHROM
Alice Mae Lathrom, 79, Kansas City, formerly of Versailles, died Nov. 18, 2002, at Research Hospital in Kansas City.
She was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Kansas City, a daughter of Lem and Florance Yeoman. She was married to James Lathrom, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker.
Other survivors include: one son, Harvey McKinney, Prairie Village, Kan.; one brother, Earl Pritchard, Kansas City; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Versailles Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
PITTRICH
Roy J. Pittrich, 77, Russellville, died Nov. 17, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 13, 1924, near Russellville, a son of Frank J. and Anna M. Gemeinhardt Pittrich. He was married Aug. 3, 1947, in Jefferson City, to Lola Mae Holzbierlein, who survives at the home.
A Russellville High School graduate, he was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked with the Production Credit Association in Jefferson City, retiring after 28 years as president and C.E.O. A lifelong farmer, he raised purebred Angus cattle. In 1955 he received the Balanced Farming award for Cole County, and in 1956 received the Young Farmer of the Year award.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville. He taught Sunday school and served on the church council and on the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Board. He served as a board member during establishment of the Heisinger Lutheran Home in Jefferson City. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Missouri Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers and was a board member of the Cole County Soil and Water District.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Linda Sue Mattern, Jefferson City, Judith Ann Thompson, Russellville, and Janet Kay Pittrich, Escondido, Calif.; one son, Keith Pittrich, Shawnee, Kan.; one brother, Don Pittrich, Eldon; five grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
One grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Scott Musselman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.
