MARVIN

Wilma Jean Marvin, 55, Versailles, died Jan. 24, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born May 14, 1947, in Larned, Kan., a daughter of Richard and Sarah Mohr Fagen.

She was married in 1965 to Charles Massingill, who preceded her in death in 1966.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: one daughter, Tammy Jean Massingill, Versailles; two sons, Charles Massingill and John Marvin, both of Versailles; two sisters, Connie Roberson and Donna Roberson, both of Kansas; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

McHENRY

James F. McHenry, 72,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 23, 2003, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

He was born Oct. 26, 1930, in St. Louis, a son of Foster B. and Ellen M. Waddill McHenry.

He was a 1948 graduate of  Jefferson City Public Schools, a 1952 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia and a 1971 graduate of University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.

From 1954-1968, McHenry was the traffic manager, director and secretary of the Capital City Telephone Company. He was president of the St. Thomas Dial, Inc. and vice president of Midstate Telephone Company.

From 1971 to 1972, he was in private practice in  Jefferson City and then from 1979 to 1980 in the Hyder and McHenry Law Firm. He was Cole County prosecuting attorney from 1973 through 1978.

In 1981, he was appointed circuit judge, 19th judicial circuit of Cole County and served until retiring in 1994.

He was a past vice chairman,  Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau; past chairman,  Jefferson City Board of Adjustment,  Jefferson City Industrial Commission, and  Jefferson City Parking and Traffic Commission; past president, Cole County Conservation Federation,  Jefferson City Host Lions Club,  Jefferson City Veterans Council, and Board of Trustees of Memorial Community Hospital; past member, Salvation Army Advisory Board; past director and vice president and Industrial Committee of the  Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce; past commander, Oliver-Buerhle Chapter No. 17, Disabled American Veterans; past president, Cole County Historical Society; past member of the board of directors, City National Saving & Loan Association; past member, executive board, Great Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693; Host Lions Club; the United Sportsman Club; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003; American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; Oliver-Buehrle Chapter #17, Disabled American Veterans;  Jefferson Lodge #43, A.F. &A.M.; Prince of Peace Commandery #29, Ezra Council #32;  Jefferson City Chapter #34, Royal Arch Masons; Moolah Shrine, St. Louis; Scottish Rite; Missouri Bar and Cole County Bar Associations; board of directors,  Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau; board of trustees, B. Gratz and Mary Gunn Brown Foundation; board of directors, Cole County Historical Society; J.S. Marmaduke Chapter, Military Order of the Stars and Bars; M.M. Parsons Camp 718, sons of Confederate Veterans; Foundation, Mexico, Mo.; Law Society, University of Missouri School of Law; the  Jefferson Club, University of Missouri; Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity; the Advisory Board Great Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America; past presidents Advisory Committee, Capital Region Medical Center; State Historical Society of Missouri, Columbia; the Buffalo Club, Olean.; B.P.O. of Elks Lodge #2517, Osage Beach; Christopher Casey Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution; the National Rifle Association; Missouri Farm Bureau; and the University of Missouri Alumni Association.

Survivors include: his fiancee, Debra Brown,  Jefferson City; and one brother, John McHenry,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Kerr and the Rev. Jerrol Boehmer will officiate. Graveside services and burial with military honors will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary with a 7:30 p.m. Masonic Service.

Memorials are suggested to Riverview Cemetery or the Disabled American Veterans.

MILLER

James Innes Miller, 81, Holts Summit, died Jan. 22, 2003, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.

He was born Jan. 15, 1922, in Henley, a son of George D. and Laura A. Smith Miller. He was married Dec. 31, 1993, to Bertie J. Spalding, who survives a the home.

He was a graduate of Eugene High School and was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked for as an engineer maintenance mechanic and quality control inspector for the Missouri National Guard. He was a member of the Spring Valley Baptist Church, the 1035th Maintenance Company of the National Guard and the Area II, Retirees Chapter, MONGA.

Other survivors include: three stepsons, Ted Spalding and Shane Spalding, both of Holts Summit, and Ron Spalding, Lake St. Louis; one brother, Edwin Miller, Eldon; and five step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Arnold Bickel will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the Hickory Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the Hickory Hill Cemetery Association or the Heisinger Home.

PARKER

Ray M. Parker, 89, died Jan. 24, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Hayden, a son of John F. and Edna C. Miller Parker. He was first married to Laura Ramsey. He was married Feb. 26, 1948, to Alta Malone, who died Jan. 13, 2002.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Dixon. He retired from Civil Service at Ft. Leonardwood in 1976.

Survivors include: one son, Leo Parker, Dixon; three daughters, Maureen Rollins, Dixon, Patty Parish, Bolivar, and Susie Brownfield,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Pershing Martin,  Jefferson City and Louise Freese, Peoria, Ill.; seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren;

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Dixon. The Pastor John Parker will officiate. Following the service, inurnment will be held at the Kenner Cemetery near Dixon.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Dixon.

Memorials are suggested to Beverly Health Care Alzheimer's Unit,  Jefferson City.

STEENBURGEN

Mary Etta Steenburgen, 82, Eldon, died Jan. 24, 2003, at her home.

She was born June 12, 1920, in Henley, a daughter of John and Georgia Nichols Steenburgen.

She was a teacher in Morgan and Cole counties. She was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church, Henley.

Survivors include: two daughters, Lynda Taylor, Eldon, and Alma Eidson, St. Joseph; three sisters, Flora Hudson and Jaunita Oakley, both of  Jefferson City, and Anna Lea Steenburgen, Virginia Beach, Va.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

One son, Connie "Joe" Prather, died Nov. 23, 1997, and she was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Spring Valley Baptist Church. The Rev. Cellis Crum will officiate. Burial will be in the Hickory Hill Cemetery, Eugene.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to Spring Valley Baptist Church.

STEVENSON

Terry Rene Stevenson, 35, Wardsville, died Jan. 24, 2003, at her home.

She was born March 1, 1967, in Branson, a daughter of Clarence Eugene and Ginger Lee Roehrs Cantrell. Her parents survive in Branson. She was married Nov. 16, 1990, in Eureka Springs, Ark., to Brian Stevenson, who survives at the home.

She was a 1985 graduate of Reed Spring High School in Reed Spring. She graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield in 1990, with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She received her Master's Degree in elementary administration in 2001 from William Woods University, Fulton.

She was a teacher at Blair Oaks Elementary School, Wardsville, since 1998. She was previously a teacher for the Sedalia #200 School District from 1990-1991 and with the Chillicothe R-11 School District from 1996-1998. She was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association. She attended Concord Baptist Church and participated in the Relay for Life. She loved to sing and had a passion for riding roller coasters.

Other survivors include: one son, Jacob Stevenson, of the home; one daughter, Madeline Stevenson, of the home; paternal grandparents, J.D. and Earlene Cantrell, Golden City; maternal grandparents, Harold and Ruby Roehrs, Branson; and one brother, David Cantrell, Denver, Colo.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Concord Baptist Church. The Rev. Tim Cook will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors- Jefferson City Chapel.

Memorials are suggested to the Terry Rene Stevenson Educational Resource Fund for Blair Oaks Elementary School.

BUCKMASTER

Jane E. Buckmaster, 73, Camdenton, died Jan. 24, 2003, at her home.

She was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Niagara, Wis., a daughter of Dr. S.A. and Marjorie Cashman Donovan. She was married Dec. 22, 1948, to Gerald Buckmaster, who survives at the home.

She lived in Steven Point, Wis., and worked as a lab technician for several years. After retirement, she moved to Camdenton. She was a member of Stevens Point Country Club for 35 years.

Other survivors include: one son, Kevin D. Buckmaster, Lebanon; two brothers, Dan Donovan, Brookfield, Wis., and Jack Donovan, Niagara, Wis.; and one grandson.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
