HARBISON
Ruby Velma Harbison, 92, Eldon, died Feb. 12, 2003, in Jefferson City.
She was born Oct. 20, 1910, in Enon, a daughter of Jesse and Grace Enloe Scrivner. She was married to Elmer Crowe, who died in 1965. She was married May 5, 1967, in Eldon, to Charles Wesley Harbison Jr., who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Ninth Street Christian Church, Eldon.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Maxine Byrd, Eldon; one stepson, Kenneth Clay Harbison, Kansas City; one stepdaughter, Lois Booker, Houston, Texas ; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Dale Crowe, and one grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Jasper Hunter will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Ninth Street Christian Church Building Fund.
WHITTLE
Sadie Whittle, 92, Eldon, died Feb. 12, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
She was born May 1, 1910, in Camden County, a daughter of George and Nancy Rebecca Downing Houser. She was married July 3, 1933, in Iberia, to Clarence Whittle, who died April 3, 1983.
A homemaker, she was a member of Russellville Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Ronald Whittle, California, Gerald Whittle, Tuscumbia, and Glen Whittle, Cairo; one sister, Sylvia Irwin, Iberia; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Arthena Rebecca Whittle, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. Robert "Nippy" Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Osage Beach.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
WILLIAMS
Eddie Williams, 71, Clarksburg, died Feb. 11, 2003, in Clarksburg.
He was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Bloomfield, a son of Ernest and Pearl Williams.
He was a self-employed carpenter and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include: one son, Steve Williams, Rogers, Ark.; one daughter, Lynn Gross, Clarksburg; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Leroy Moon will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Hickman Cemetery, near Clarksburg.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
ALBERTSON
Dorothy Pauline Albertson, 83, Eldon, died Feb. 12, 2003, in Jefferson City.
She was born March 11, 1919, in Vancleave, a daughter of Elzy and Amanda Lawson Hunt. She was married Feb. 13, 1937, in Tuscumbia, to Merrel E. Albertson, who died Oct. 9, 1993.
She retired from Cheseborough-Ponds, Jefferson City. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church, Barnett.
Survivors include: three daughters, Helen Ruth Pryor, Salem, Wanda Hawk, Eldon, and Sharon Resa, Alexandria, Minn.; one brother, Oscar Hunt, Springfield; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
One son, Ronald Earl Albertson, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to New Life Assembly of God Church.
Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today at Allee-Holman Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Additional visitation will be from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the church.
ELLIOTT
S. Louise Elliott, 82, Jefferson City, died Feb. 10, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
Arrangements are at Freeman Mortuary.
HESS
Ruby Earle Hess, 69, Jefferson City, died Feb. 11, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Lowndes, a daughter of Dewey U. and Eula B. Durham McCarn. She was married Oct. 28, 1955, in Callaway County, to Hadley G. Hess, who died July 20, 1999.
She attended school in Lowndes and was a graduate of Jefferson City High School.
She was a homemaker and was a sales clerk at Dallmeyer Jewelry Store and Millsaps Clothing Store, and was a long-distance operator for United Telephone.
Survivors include: one son, Kevin Hess, Jefferson City; one daughter, Tara L. Quisenberry, Columbia; and one grandson.
Private services will be held. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.
BLANKENSHIP
Alvis Blankenship, 84, Dixon, died Feb. 12, 2003, at his home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1919, in Maries County, a son of William E. and Helena Krone Blankenship. He was married May 26, 1946, in Vienna, to Mary Evelyn Yoakum, who survives at the home.
He was a farmer and worked for Civil Service at Ft. Leonard Wood for 14 years, until his retirement. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, near Dixon. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include: two sons, Floyd Blankenship and William "Pete" Blankenship, both of Iberia; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
One son, Ronald Robert Blankenship, died Aug. 4, 1977.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Charles Pentecost and the Rev. Louis Dunlap will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery, near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Wheeler Cemetery.
JAEGERS
Vernon Lee Jaegers, 59, of Jefferson City, died Feb. 13, 2003, at Boone Hospital Center.
He was born June 2, 1943, in Jefferson City, a son of Norman and LaVerne Smith Jaegers. He was married May 1, 1965, in Jefferson City, to Jo Ann Rademan, who survives at the home.
He attended Our Lady of Help School in Frankenstein, St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Hannibal, and was a 1961 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia.
He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1963. He was a union pipefitter, working for Missouri Power and Light and later Union Electric. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and the Men's Sodality, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693, the Wardsville Lions Club and the Helias Booster Club.
Other survivors include: one son, Lee Jaegers, Jefferson City; two brothers, Jim Jaegers, Linn, and Wayne Jaegers, Bonnots Mill; six sisters, Joan San Miguel, St. Charles, Norma Ashmore, Bonnots Mill, Mary Kay Jaegers, St. Peters, Karen Rush, Jefferson City, Linda Ejchler, Jefferson City, and Carla Bratcher, St. Charles; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Lammers officiating. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17 in Jefferson City or to Helias High School.
