WESTHUES
Olive Westhues, 100, Glasgow, died March 11, 2003, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 23, 1902, in Montgomery County, a daughter of John H. and Bertha Whitman Conran. She was married April 26, 1922, in St. Louis, to John H. Westhues, who preceded her in death.
She worked as a manager at Community Cannery in the 1940's in Glasgow and in the high school cafeteria in the 1950's. She was a published author. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Glasgow, where she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include: three sons, James Westhues, Overland Park, Eugene Westhues, Jefferson City, and Dr. Kenneth Westhues, Waterloo, Ontario; one daughter, Dolores Wadle, Sarasota, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
One son John Westhues Jr., one daughter Margie Boschert and one granddaughter, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Msgr. John Westhues and The Rev. Phil Kane will officiate. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery, Glasgow.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home, Glasgow, with a rosary at 8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Church or school.
AHSENS
Doris S. Ahsens, 85, Jefferson City, died March 13, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 4, 1917, in Foley, a daughter of John and Glovie Pressley Stonebraker. She was married June 17, 1946, in New Orleans, to Robert J. Ahsens Jr., who died June 27, 1997.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, she graduated from Elsberry High School and from Brown Business College, St. Louis. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Mexico. She was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: one son, Robert J. Ahsens III, Jefferson City; one brother, Hickman Stonebraker, Foley; and one grandson.
One daughter, Karen Ahsens, died in 1969.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Jerrol Boehmer will officiate. Private graveside services will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.

BASILE
Sister Marie of the Blessed Sacrament, O.C.D., 76, Carmelite Monastery, Jefferson City, died March 12, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Catherine Basile on April 30, 1926, in New York City, a daughter of John and Carmela D'Amico Basile.
She was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, New York City. She worked with Harper and Brothers, New York City.
She entered the Carmel of Sante Fe, N.M., in 1950; received the Holy Habit of Carmel in 1951; made her first profession of vows in 1952; and made her solemn profession of vows in 1955.
She was a founding sister of the Jefferson City Carmelite Monastery in 1960.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Carmelite Monastery.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the monastery, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Masses.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
BURKE
Adam Burke, 45, Dixon, died March 10, 2003, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born April 20, 1957, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the adopted son of Hugh and Rita Murray McEneaney. His father survives in Selden, N.Y. He was married in 1995, in Dixon, to Peggy Goodpasture Kennedy, who survives.
He moved to Dixon in 1988 from the state of New York and was a construction worker. He was a Catholic.
Other survivors include: one son, Patrick Kennedy, Dixon; four daughters, Catherine McKinnon, Duluth, Minn., Mona Salinas, Corpus Christi, Texas , and Marlee Kennedy and Cheree Winters, both of Dixon; six brothers, Billy Burke, state of Florida, Joseph Burke, state of California, and James Congable, Jerry McEneaney, Hugh McEneaney Jr., and Brian McEneaney, all of the state of New York; three sisters, Roberta Strampfer, state of New Hampshire, Mary Ellen Fatscher and Sister Beth McEneaney, both of the state of New York; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. The Rev. Wilbur Warman will officiate. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested in memory of Adam Burke.
BURKS
Theresa A. "Terry" Burks, 78, Jefferson City, died March 11, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born April 16, 1924, in Morrison, a daughter of Alexander and Edna Marie Reis Englert. She was married in 1968, to Ralph Elmer Burks, who preceded her in death.
She attended school in Morrison and was a graduate of Assumption Catholic School. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Woodman Engineering Company and Coy's Moving & Storage Company until her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include: two brothers, Marvin James Englert, Huntsville, Ala., and Virgil Joseph "Jack" Englert, Buchanan, Tenn.
Private services will be held.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.
COOPER
Graveside services for Lois Lillian Cooper, 89, Brentwood, Tenn., formerly of Jefferson City, who died Jan. 18, 2003, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Riverview Cemetery.

HOSSMAN
Dixiedean Elizabeth Hossman, 78, California, died March 12, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born April 24, 1924, in Hallsville, a daughter of George H. and Clara B. Blythe Zimmerman, who preceded her in death. She was married Aug. 29, 1942, in California, to Carl Hossman, who died Oct. 9, 1974.
She attended Centertown High School and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and Centertown American Legion Auxiliary 531.
Survivors include: two brothers, John Henry Zimmerman, Lancaster, Calif., and Franklin Zimmerman, Jefferson City; six sisters, Phyllis C. Bieri, California, Patsy A. Cox, Jefferson City, Minnie L. Blochberger, Tipton, Reta V. Johnson, Centertown, and Darlene Tucker and Mae Rosalee Zimmerman, both of Columbia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Kenneth Lupton will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

JOHNSON
Gloria D. Johnson, 73, Jefferson City, died March 11, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 7, 1929, in Cuba, a daughter of Adina Bowen. She was married Aug. 13, 1956, in Jamaica, to William Everett Johnson, who died April 5, 1991.
She was a homemaker and a baby-sitter.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include: two sons, William E. Johnson Jr., and Joseph I. Johnson, both of Jefferson City; one daughter, Teeka M. Brand, Jefferson City; two sisters, Alice Bowen, Brooklyn, N.Y., and Daisy James, Mandeville Manchester, Jamaica.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Gary Carey will officiate. Private graveside services will be held.
Memorials are suggested to Worldwide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses.
