NIEDERHELM
Wilhelmina A. Niederhelm, 95, of Linn, MO, died Monday, June 2, 2003 at Green Meadows Healthcare Center, Linn, MO.
She was born April 8, 1908 in Morrison, MO, to Joseph and Anna (Nee Kuebler) Wolz. She was married to Clarence Niederhelm on September 12, 1929, in Morrison, MO; he preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. George Church in Linn and a former member of the Assumption Church in Morrison. She was a housewife.
She is survived by one son: Maurice & wife Sherry Niederhelm of Russellville, MO; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, Morrison, MO.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the Assumption Church, Morrison, MO, with the Father Pat Dowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Assumption Cemetery, Morrison, MO.
Memorials are suggested to the Assumption Church or Cemetery.
PRYOR
Charles F. "Bud" Pryor, age 72, of Versailles, passed away Sunday morning, June 1, 2003 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born January 9, 1931 in Clay County, Missouri, the son of Ted R. and Ruby Williams Pryor. He was united in marriage on June 14, 1953 with Marie L. Crouch, who survives of the home.
Bud was a retired purchasing agent for Fasco Industries in Eldon and later worked at Pryor's Outdoor Equipment in Versailles. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard, was a member of Golden Beach Community Church, and while living in Liberty was a deacon at the Baptist Church. He was active in the Versailles Nutrition Site and served on the board for the Meals On Wheels Program. He enjoyed sports and was a strong supporter of the Versailles School Athletic Programs.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Charles R. "Chuck" Pryor of Versailles; two daughters, Debie Pryor of San Diego, CA, and Diane Mead of Liberty; two brothers, Bill Pryor of Bedford, VA, and Richard Pryor of Grand Junction, CO; five grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Versailles City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Morgan County Relay for Life Cancer Fund or the Versailles Nutrition Site. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
SCOTT
Roy F. Scott, Sr., age 71, of Barnett, died Monday, June 2, 2003 at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born May 5, 1922 near Purvis, Mo., the son of Charley and Mary Vaughan Scott.
He was an automobile mechanic and U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one son, Roy F. Scott Jr., two brothers, Louie Scott and Mike Scott; four sisters, Joan Jones, Lois Rawlings, Peggy Gerlt, and Betty Lou Dodson and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Military honors and interment will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
STUMP
Jackson Wilbur Stump, 86, of Iberia, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Care Center, St. Elizabeth, MO.
He was born on September 15, 1916 in Prosperity, MO, the son of Charles and Carrie Hastings Stump. He was married on December 25, 1936, in Vancouver, Washington , to Ruth Viola Brandaberry, who survives at the home.
He was a general contractor and heavy construction builder throughout the United States, Alaska, and Vietnam for many years. He was a member of Brays Advent Christian Church, Iberia; Fraternal and Protective Order of Elks; and honorary member of the Society of Professional Engineers.
Other survivors include three sons and their wives; Charles and Alice Stump, Albuquerque, NM, Richard and Linda Stump, Meta, and David and Mary Stump, Iberia; two daughters and their husbands: Judith and John Whitaker, Bishop, CA; and Martha and Robert Kruchten, New Baden, IL; fifteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son: Jerry Stump; an infant son; a brother: Phillip Stump; and a sister: Glenna Ott.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at the Brays Advent Christian Church, in Iberia, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at the Brays Advent Christian Church in Iberia, with the Rev. Earl Skids officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery, Iberia.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Jefferson City, is in charge of arrangements.
WALZ
Walz, Carl J. III left this world peacefully surrounded by love on Monday June 2, 2003.
He is survived by his son, Carl (Bucky) Walz IV, his parents, Katie and Clarence Winer of Rocky Mount, MO, Art Walz of Jefferson City, his brother Bill (Jane) Walz, sisters Melody Walz Peters, and Pamela Walz Fichter (Tom), nephews and niece, and many loyal devoted friends.
He will be remembered for his creative genius, his craftsmanship, and his love of music, his honest unapologetic style and sense of humor. Carl did what he loved and did it like no one else ever could or ever will. He didn't just "March to a different drummer," he had a whole rhythm section. St. Paul, late in his life, summarized the objective he so relentlessly pursed in these few words offered to those he most urgently strove to reach, "Love one Another." Carl put it this way "It ain't but the one thing."
Carl's life will be remembered and celebrated in the Great Hall of Ambruster-Donnelly Mortuary, 6633 Clayton Rd. 63117 Friday, June 6 at 1:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends at Ambruster-Donnelly from 4:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl's name are requested to the home of retired Elvis impersonators or to the charity of your choice.
ALLEN
Claudia "Mallie" R. Allen, 75, of New Bloomfield, died Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Churchill Terrace of Fulton.
She was born May 15, 1928, in Powersville, MO, the daughter of the late C.C. "Pete" and Eunice Evelyn (Rowan) Reiter. She married Russell W. Allen on May 22, 1952 in Fulton. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1981.
Claudia was employed in food management for over 50 years, including the State Capitol and Oakview Living Center in Jefferson City. She was an active member of the Providence Baptist Church in New Bloomfield. She was also a member of the Gold Leaf Club and Mid-MO Friends of the Winston Churchhill Memorial & Library. She loved to sew, work in the garden, and spend time with her family.
She is survived by one daughter: Debbie (Mrs. Burford) LaRue of Fulton; two grandchildren: Jacob Russell LaRue and Amanda Ellen LaRue, both of Fulton; one twin-brother: Claud A. Reiter of New Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 5, 2003, at the Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit, MO.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2003 at the Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, with the Rev. Bill Wormsley and Dr. T.W. Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Dry Fork Cemetery in Guthrie.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
KEHR
Jessie J. Kehr, age 99, of Eldon, MO, died June 2, 2003 at Eldon Health Care, Eldon, MO.
He was born on August 12, 1903 in Bagnell, MO, a son of Perry Oliver and Lora Howser Kehr. On October 7, 1932 in Linn, MO he was married to Pauline "Brooks" Haynes who survives at the home.
He had worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 10 years, for Union Electric for 14 years, Co-owned Kehr and Haynes Feed Store and Co-owned and operated Kehr's Pool Hall for many years. He had attended the Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Brooks Kehr; a son, Doug Kehr of Jefferson City; and a daughter, Carol Stith of Lake Ozark; Also, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sula Connell and two brothers, Clarence and Roy Kehr and a sister, Geneva Kehr.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon, MO. Rev. Jay Quinn will officiate. Interment will be in the Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.
BOYD
Marie Clara Boyd, age 81, of St. Elizabeth, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at the St. Elizabeth Care Center.
She was born on July 22, 1921, in East St. Louis. On October 25, 1964 in Georgia; she was married to Darrell D. Boyd.
She had worked as manager of a restaurant and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth.
Those who survive her include: 1 son - Joseph J. Swedo, Jr. of Jefferson City and 1 grandson - Joseph J. Swedo III also of Jefferson City.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the Southside Cemetery in Meta. Rev. M. Christopher Smith will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
MURDOCK
Ed Murdock, age 67, of Gravois Mills, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at his home.
He was born July 7, 1935, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Ed was in the drywall business in the Lake of the Ozarks area for many years. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran.
Survivors include his wife: Lucy Murdock of the home; two sons: James Edgar Murdock and Herbie Lee Murdock, of Gravois Mills; one brother: Billie Jack Murdock; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
