Mrs. Helen Loraine Duenkel, age 89 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the  Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Helen was born on September 21, 1921 in  Jefferson City, Mo. the daughter of William C. and Mildred F. Zumwalt Colvin. She was married on July 6, 1940 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Paul J. Duenkel who preceded her in death on May 1, 1996.
A life long resident of the  Jefferson City area, Helen graduated from  Jefferson City High School. She was employed with the Missouri Legislative Research Dept. for twenty years until her retirement . Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Auxiliary of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5. She was a loving wife and mother who loved her pets and bowling. Helen had many trophies for her scores in bowling.
Survivors: two brothers, Robert L. Colvin and his wife Elsie and Gerald A. Colvin and his wife Marie; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, and two sons, Robert J. Duenkel in March, 2004 and Larry J. Duenkel in July, 2004.
Graveside services and entombment will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Sager officiating.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Assn.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Marvin Earl Longden, age 86, of  Jefferson City, MO, passed away Friday, November 5, 2010.
Marvin entered this world January 19, 1924, at Chamberlain, South Dakota, the son of Earl Porter and Florence Reimer Longden. He graduated from Sturgis, SD, High School and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia.
During World War II, he served in the U. S. Army, Company B, 312 Combat Engineers, 87th Infantry Division, E. T. O. 3rd Army (Patton) on the front lines at the Battle of the Bulge, Battle of the Ardennes, and Battle of Central Europe.
At the USO in  Jefferson City, Marvin met the love of his life, Nancy Stark, and in 1946 they were married. For forty years the State of Missouri was fortunate to have Marvin working in various capacities for the Missouri Department of Transportation, finally retiring as Senior Structural Steel Inspector.
He served as usher and Sunday school teacher for the First United Methodist Church; was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 87th Infantry Division Association, AARP, ARMSE; and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Capital Region Medical Center, Charles E. Still Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and St. Mary's Sleep Center.
Marvin loved his God, his family and his country. He served his country willingly after having enlisted during the Second World War. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, bowling, and his pets - particularly the dachshunds. He had a good sense of humor and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his two daughters: Jan Tofani and her husband Ed of  Oklahoma City, OK, and Marla Clark and her husband Gary of  Jefferson City, MO. ; two grandchildren, Kelley Barnard of  Jefferson City, MO, and Mitch Bolden and his wife Kate of North Tonawanda, NY; two great-granddaughters, Brienna Barnard and Mercedes Barnard of  Jefferson City, MO. Also surviving is one sister, Vera Zastrow of Wessington Springs, SD.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Mildred Stark Longden, as well as his three brothers; Glen Longden, Roland Longden, Floyd Longden; and sister, Nora Jane Hohn.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, November 11, 2010, in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Dumas officiating. Committal services and entombment with military honors will be in the mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be immediately before the memorial service from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church Funds: Benevolence Fund, the Food Pantry, or the East Side Community Outreach Building Fund.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Ora Fern Fitch, age 96 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, November 8, 2010 at St. Joseph Bluffs.
Ora Fern was born February 15, 1914 in DeSoto, Mo. a daughter of Roy and Magdalene Lynch Ragland. She was married on July 3, 1937 in DeSoto, Mo. to Wallace N. Fitch who preceded her in death in August, 1973.
A resident of the  Jefferson City area for the past sixteen years, Ora Fern graduated from DeSoto High School.
Wallace and Ora Fern owned and operated the Geer-Croy-Fitch Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, Mo. from 1945 until their retirement in 1970.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff where she served as the church organist for fifty-three years, and was also very active in the church’s music ministry. Ora Fern was a also member of the X-Club and the First Baptist Church in  Jefferson City.
Survivors include: two sons, Randy Fitch and his wife DeLinda of  Jefferson City, Mo. and Bob Fitch and his wife Carol of Troy, Illinois; one sister, Margaret Coggins of the State of Florida; two grandchildren, Jon Fitch and his wife Charlene and Dr. Jeff Fitch and his wife Michele; and five great-grandchildren, Chris Fitch, Alex Fitch, Kathryn Fitch, Carson Fitch, and Hunter Fitch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 10, 2010.
Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to First Baptist Church in  Jefferson City, Mo.

Carolyn Ann Truman, age 67, of Willits, California, passed away November 2, 2010 at the Cloverdale Healthcare Center in Cloverdale, California. Carolyn was born September 1, 1943, in  Jefferson City, Mo. the daughter of Milford Glenn Russell and Anna Marie (Mickelis) Russell, both preceded her in death.
Carolyn was united in marriage on October 4, 1979 in Cedar City, Mo to Estill Eugene Truman, who survives at the home.
She graduated from  Jefferson City High School. She was a homemaker and a healthcare provider in Willits, California until ill health forced her retirement.
An avid collector of angels, Carolyn also loved to crochet and paint. Her greatest love was to make others happy and to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Survivors include: three daughters, Glenda Ann Luecke-Bullock and her husband Dennis of Imperial, Mo., Tammy Sue Goben and her fiancé Terry Luikart of  Jefferson City, Mo, and Danyele Marie Chamberlain of the home; one son, Ralph Raymond Bond of Lucerne, California; four grandchildren, Sarah Robertson and her husband Cole, Erik Goben, Andrew Luecke, and Matthew Luecke; and one great granddaughter, Shelby Goben.
A private graveside service and interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Janice S. Dudenhoeffer, age 68 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died November 10, 2010 at Capital Regional Medical Center.
Janice was born December 12, 1941 in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Josiah Owen and Margaret N. Woodland Burkett. She was united in marriage on February 1, 1964 in  Jefferson City to Charles G. Dudenhoeffer Jr. who survives at the home.
After graduating from  Jefferson City High School, Janice attended college in Kansas City, Missouri. She returned to  Jefferson City where she was employed by Exchange National Bank and met her husband Charles. She later worked for the Missouri State Legislature for several years. She was most proud of her chosen career path as a devoted homemaker to her husband and children where they enjoyed an immaculately clean home, delicious home-cooked meals, and unending care, love and affection.
During her children’s elementary school years, she served as room mother for each grade providing fun activities and snacks for the children in the class who enjoyed her fun-loving personality. She also assisted the school administration with various non-teaching activities.
Her pastimes included: reading, arts and crafts, floral arrangements, and following her  Jefferson City Jays, MU Tigers, and St. Louis Cardinals, where she was an avid critic of coaching when warranted. Spending time with her family and grandchildren was her most favorite pastime. Even though she suffered through the pains of rheumatoid arthritis for many years, she was never one to complain as she was always more worried about caring for the others around her. Even during her bout with cancer, she still managed to take amazing care of her family.
She was an active and devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church. Other survivors include: daughter, Deann Branson (Jim) of  Jefferson City; sons, Matt Dudenhoeffer of Wildwood, Missouri and Doug Dudenhoeffer (Terra) of Overland Park, Kansas; sister, JoAnn Cardwell (Jack) of Greenwood, Indiana; brother, Gary Anderson (Barb) of Des Moines, Iowa; and grandchildren, Nikki and Gavin Branson of  Jefferson City; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her step father and mother, Maurice “Sid” and Margaret Sitton; her father, Josiah Owen Burkett; her brother and sister-in-law, William T. and Dorothy Burkett.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service to begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Reverend Brendan Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Capital Region Medical Center Foundation (P. O. Box 1128,  Jefferson City, Mo 65102-1128), the Immaculate Conception Endowment Fund (1206 E. McCarty St.  Jefferson City, Mo 65101), or the Samaritan Center (1310 E. McCarty St.  Jefferson City, Mo 65101)

Mr. Henry P. Holliday, age 78 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born on June 21, 1932 in  Jefferson City, Mo. a son of Arthur and Clara P. Loethen Holliday. He was married on June 2, 1951 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Joan Barnard.
A life long resident of the  Jefferson City area, Henry attended St. Peter School.
Henry served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with a bronze star service medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was employed with Tweedie Footwear Factory, Delong’s, Inc., and retired in 1994 as a supervisor with the Cole County Public Works Dept. after twenty-six years. Henry could build anything and enjoyed repairing cars. He also enjoyed his Javelin automobile, socializing with friends and spending time with his family.
Survivors include: his wife of fifty-nine years, Joan Holliday; one son, Dennis Holliday of  Jefferson City, Mo; one sister, Anna Marie Crane and her husband Elmo of Harrisburg, Mo. ; three grandchildren, Angela Holliday Brenner, De’Nel Holliday and Scott Holliday; and two great-grandchildren, Evan and Lauryn Brenner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Charles Holliday, Marvin Holliday, Arthur Holliday and Harold Holliday; and two sisters, Elizabeth Livingston and Margaret Hicks.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Tuesday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Kenneth Funke officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Assn.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Barbara S. McBaine, age 68 years,  Jefferson City, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010.
Barbara was born on November 21, 1941 in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Louis and Leona (Hentges) Mertens, who preceded her in death. She was married to James R. Williams on January 16, 1961 in Florida and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1969. She was married to Franklin E. McBaine on July 20, 1974, in  Jefferson City, who preceded her in death on August 18, 2008.
A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Barbara was a 1959 graduate of Helias High School.
She was employed as an in home child care provider for fifteen years, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church; the VFW Roy Sone Post 1003 Ladies Auxiliary; and the Eastside Cancer Kickers Relay for Life team. Barbara enjoyed sewing, crafts, woodworking, traveling, and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: four sons, Mike (Debbie) McBaine and Mark (Alice) McBaine  Jefferson City, Boyd (Jody) Williams, Rolla, and Bill Williams, Columbia; five daughters, Tresha McBaine, Cathy Philbert, and Kelly (Jack) Raetz,  Jefferson City, Rose (Doug) Marsch, Russellville, and Alice (Keith) Languell, Tebbetts. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 pm Thursday, November 18, 2010 with a prayer service to be conducted at 3:30 pm in the Freeman Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday, November 19, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with Monsignor David Cox officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through the Eastside Cancer Kickers or Fisher Family Relay for Life teams or Hospice Compassus of  Jefferson City.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Betty L. Schneider, age 84 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Capital Region Medical Center.
Betty was born November 22, 1925 in Guthrie, Mo., the daughter of Claude Nichols and Mary Elizabeth Yancey Mueller. She was married on February 23, 1948 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to John N. Schneider.
A life long resident of the central Missouri area, Betty graduated from New Bloomfield High School.
A homemaker, Betty had been employed with the Exchange National Bank and the Missouri State Legislature.
She was a member of Central United Church of Christ. Betty was a wonderful cook and she enjoyed sharing this love with her children, grandchildren, and cousins. Her kitchen was the place to stop for a mid-morning break or a late night snack. She was most famous for her angel food cakes and long is the list of friends whose birthdays were remembered with one.
She lived her last years at Heisinger Bluffs and appreciated the loving care that she received as well as the friendships that she was blessed with.
Survivors include: her husband of sixty-two years, John Schneider; two daughters, Mary Beth Alberts of Dallas, Texas and Becky Weingart and her husband Jim of Broomfield, Colorado; four grandchildren, Laura Mountjoy and her husband Brian, John Alberts and his wife Jeanne, C2C Margaret Weingart, and Joe Weingart; two great grandchildren, Mary Katherine Mountjoy and Brendan Mountjoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Central United Church of Christ from 9:00 until 10:00 AM Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Central United Church of Christ with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Buchholz officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Central United Church of Christ.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
