MONROE CITY - The Rev. Clifford Edward Talton Sr., 78, of Monroe City, died at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Garner Funeral Chapel in Monroe City. The Rev. Paul Washington and Elder Eddie Wright will officiate. Burial will be at St. Jude Cemetery in Monroe City.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Rev. Talton was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Ralls County to Roy and Mary Williams Talton.
He was married to Kathryn Marie Williams on March 10, 1942, in Monroe City. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Clifford Edward Talton Jr. of Monroe City; one brother, Ollie Talton of Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to include as survivors many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, James Talton, Leroy Talton, Clarence Talton and Maurice Talton; one sister, Mary Ruth Holland; and five half-sisters, Mary Smith, Edna Mayfield, Corrine Mayfield, Lorene Talton and Anna Mae Murphy.
Rev. Talton had been employed at Henderson Produce Co. and Robey Building Supply, both in Monroe City. He was a veteran of World War II.
Rev. Talton was a member of Promiseland Family Church in Monroe City. He was a former member of Zion Temple, where for approximately 21 years had served as minister. He attended Washington School in Monroe City.

Pallbearers will be Clifford E. Talton III, Clay D. Talton, Jermaine Talton, Ronnie Washington , Terry Goodrum and Daniel Burgess.
Betty L. Hymers
HANNIBAL - Betty L. Hymers, 53, of Hannibal, died at 4:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services are pending at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Rosina C. Crawford
Chesterfield
Oct. 17, 1910 - Nov. 23, 2001
TROY - Rosina Caroline Crawford, 91, of Chesterfield and formerly of Flint, Mich., died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Delmar Gardens in Chesterfield.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Kemper-Marsh Funeral Home in Troy. Charles (Pheeze) Kemper will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Mount Morris, Mich.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Crawford was born Oct. 17, 1910, in West Branch, Mich., to Lawrence and Josephine Bohnhard Holderied.
Survivors include one son, Robert W. Crawford of Winston-Salem, N.C.; four grandchildren, Karen Hotfelder of Troy, Kathy McAtee of Ballwin, Anthony Crawford of Sunnyvale, Calif., and James Crawford of Grand Rapids, Mich.; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ben Holderied of Grand Ledge, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Crawford; one daughter, Drusilla De Lisle; two sisters, Violet Pinter and Alice Wright; and one brother, Don Holderied.
Mrs. Crawford was a homemaker and charter member of the Farnurnwood Presbyterian Church in Flint, Mich. She was a lifelong member of the National Republican Committee.

Marie Timmons

CLARENCE - Marie Timmons, 82, of Clarence, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Chapel in Clarence. The Rev. Beryl Cragg will officiate. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Timmons was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Fredericktown to William S. and Carrie Jane Wakefield Gifford.
She was married to Denver Timmons on March 6, 1942, in Clarence. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Knuckey of Greenville, N.C.; two sons, James W. Timmons of Venita, Okla., and John Timmons of Clarence; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Priscilla Blackburn of Robertsdale, Ala.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Lemuel Gifford.
Mrs. Timmons had been an elementary teacher at Greenville schools.
After moving to Clarence she and her husband owned and operated Clarence Cleaners. Later Mrs. Timmons owned Marie's Country Stuff.
She was a member of Clarence United Methodist Church.
Joseph Wurtzberger
Hannibal
Sept. 5, 1971 - Nov. 23, 2001
PALMYRA - Joseph G. (Joe) Wurtzberger, 30, of Hannibal, died at 5:10 Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, from injuries suffered in a traffic accident on U.S. 24 one mile north of U.S. 36 near Palmyra.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Father Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, with a military service by Boots-Dickson American Legion Post. No. 174.
Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a prayer service and Rosary at 7:30 p.m. today.
Mr. Wurtzberger was born Sept. 5, 1971, in Hannibal to Andrew C. and Susie Donelson Wurtzberger.
He was married to Debbie Johnston on April 16, 1999, in Hannibal. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Joseph Wurtzberger Conoyer of Palmyra and Dustin J. Wurtzberger of the home; one stepdaughter, Destiny Ingram of the home; his mother and stepfather, Susie and Charles Schutte of Palmyra; his father, Andrew Wurtzberger of Brainerd, Minn.; his grandparents, Lila Donelson of Palmyra, Frances and Woody Wurtzberger of La Belle, and Bob and Jessie Wienhoff of Hannibal; and two half-brothers, Jason Wurtzberger of Brainerd and Tommy Wurtzberger of Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John A. Wurtzberger; and his grandfather, Dudley Donelson.
The family wishes to include as survivors his mother-in-law, Juanita Saxbury of Hannibal; his father-in-law, Gary Johnston of Hannibal; and many cousins and in-laws. Also, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Paul Saxbury.
Mr. Wurtzberger had been a line operator at the Pillsbury plant for the past eight years.
He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from May 1989 to January 1990, when he received an Honorable Medical Discharge.
Mr. Wurtzberger was a member of Holy Family Church in Hannibal. He also was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a 1989 graduate of Palmyra High School.
The family wishes to include that he will be missed by his family, neighbors and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the Joe Wurtzberger Memorial for his children, in care of the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Prisner, Travis Keller, Brian Gard, Darrell Miller, Eugene Marshall, Bobby Johnston, Shiloh McClelland and Wayne Johnston.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Hufford, Curtis Ragan, Ricky Donelson, Manchew Burbridge and Kevin Powell.
Charles T. Kroeger
Palmyra
May 2, 1914 - Nov. 24, 2001
PALMYRA - Charles T. Kroeger, 87, of Palmyra, died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmyra. Father Pat Pierceall will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, with a military service by the American Legion and VFW.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Kroeger was born May 2, 1914, in Marion County to John H. and Clara Wellman Kroeger.
He was married to Erlene Muder on Jan. 1, 1941, in Palmyra. She preceded him in death Aug. 5, 1994.
Survivors include one brother, J.B. Kroeger of Palmyra; four sisters, Mary Hirner of Palmyra, Florence Shupe of Mendon, Ill., Dolores Whelan of St. Charles and Maxine Devlin Wavering of Quincy, Ill.; and a special friend, Elizabeth Roth of Palmyra.
The family wishes to include as survivors 10 nieces; 14 nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Kroeger; and two brothers, Fred Kroeger and Herbert Kroeger.
Mr. Kroeger was a union electrician, who had worked all over the United States.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, who had reached the rank of sergeant. He was a 1933 graduate of Palmyra High School.
Mr. Kroeger was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmyra. He also was a member of Boots-Dickson American Legion Post No. 174, VFW Post No. 11041 and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and hosting fish fries for his family and friends. He also was an avid sports fan.
Memorials may be made to the building fund at St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Palmyra Nutrition Center.
