BOWLING GREEN - Betty Y. Caldwell, 58, of Bowling Green, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 21, at White Rose Baptist Church in Bowling Green. The Rev. Charlie Wright will officiate. Burial will be at Ashley Fairview Cemetery.
The Sterne Funeral Home in Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Caldwell was born Aug. 21, 1944, in Chickasaw, Okla.
Survivors include her mother, Edgar Mae Johnston Nalley of Bowling Green; seven children, Charlotte Lee, of Oklahoma City, Denise Woods of Bartlesville, Okla., and Yolanda Todd, Audry Todd, Danula Williams, Zelia Caldwell and Don Caldwell, all of Bowling Green; and Garland Johnson, companion, of Bowling Green
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Waldo Nalley.
Ms. Caldwell had been a chef.
Dr. Kelly D. Douglass

SHELBYVILLE - Kelly D. Douglass, D.D.S., M.S., 43, of Topeka, Kan., died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Countryside United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be later at Shelbyville Memorial Cemetery.
A second memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, at Shelbyville United Methodist Church.
The Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbyville is in charge of local arrangements.
Dr. Douglass was born Jan. 9, 1961, in Kirksville to Lynn and Sandra Fox Douglass.
He was married to Isabelle Progin on Sept. 5, 1987. They later divorced.
Survivors include his parents of Shelbyville; one son, Kyle, of Topeka; one sister and brother-in-law, Stacey and Terry Craigmyle of Shelbyville; two nephews, Brett and Bradley Craigmyle; one uncle; and several aunts and cousins.

George William Karr
Monroe City

MONROE CITY - George William Karr, 54, of Monroe City, died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Garner Funeral Home in Monroe City. The Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Marion County.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 27, at the funeral home.
Mr. Karr was born March 14, 1949, in Hannibal to Willard E. and Edyth Esther Hilbert Karr.
He was married to Barbra Terrill on March 6, 1971, in Palmyra. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Travis Ryan Karr of Kansas City, Mo.; and one stepson, Randy Paul Nelson of Marys Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Karr was a member of the Mount Vernon Methodist Church in Marion County. He attended White Franklin country school in Marion County and graduated from Monroe City High School. He was a lifelong Marion County grain farmer and most recently was employed by Mid America Coaches of Washington , Mo., where he was a tour bus driver. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the local coffee shop and he also loved to travel.
Memorials may be made to the Mount Vernon Cemetery Association.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Karr, Raymond Karr, Richard Gosney, Fred Kespohl, Jim Underhill, Marlin Reagan, John White and Eddie Neff.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Jones, Paul Beaver, J.D. Underhill, George Gosney, Marvin Reagan, Jim Morris and Donnie Wayne Hays.
Helen Louise Shires
Columbia

EWING - Helen Louise Shires, 91, of Columbia and formerly of Ewing, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at South Hampton Place in Columbia.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing. The Rev. Tim Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Ewing Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 27, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Shires was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Dunlap to John and Sarah Shepherd Shaver.
She was married to Chester Shires on Oct. 4, 1933. He preceded her in death April 25, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Lay of Lewistown and Shirley Hadfield of Columbia; one sister, Hazel DeMoss of Quincy, Ill; four grandchildren, Douglas Lay, Colby Lay and Sherri Lay, all of Lewistown, and Stephanie Short of Columbia; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter and Hannah Lay, all of Lewistown, and Emily Short of Columbia; one niece; and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and three brothers.
Sharon Stombaugh Ledbetter
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Sharon Stombaugh Ledbetter, a native of Hannibal, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
After graduating from Hannibal High School in 1961, she married Marvin Ledbetter of Palmyra. They and their two children settled in Florida after his graduation from Kirksville College of Osteopathy and Surgery (KCOS) followed by a tour of duty in Vietnam as a U.S. Army physician. She is survived by two sons, Marc and Michael, both of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Mrs. Ledbetter is also survived by an aunt, uncle and numerous cousins in the Hannibal and St. Louis areas. Her mother, Peggy Lake of Denver, Colo., passed away in July 2002. Those acquainted with the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert T. McLeod, formerly of Hannibal, will remember Sharon as their granddaughter.
Services are being conducted by Haigh-Black Funeral Home in Ormond Beach, Fla.

Louisiana - Samantha Brooke Griffith, 15, of rural Bowling Green, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, in a school bus accident at Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Frank Welch will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 27, at the funeral home.
Samantha was born Aug. 30, 1988, in East Ridge, Tenn., to Dwayne and Michelle Rae Ivie Griffith.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Michelle and Robert (Bo) Irvine Jr. of Bowling Green; two sisters, Danielle Sharee Griffith and Amber Michelle Irvine, both of the home; her maternal grandmother, Mildred Ivie of Barstow, Calif.; her boyfriend, Mike Johnson of Bowling Green; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Willis LeRoy Ivie and an aunt, Nadine Irvin White , who died Feb. 19, 2004.
Samantha was a ninth-grade student in the Bowling Green RI School District and was a member of the Peno Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, playing basketball, TV (WB) drawing and school.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Maylee, George Snyder, Jordan Mannahan, Bobby Colston, Cliff Bowen and Charles Thomas (CT) Allen.
Linda Dee Reisch Stewart

BOZEMAN, Mont. - Linda Dee Reisch Stewart, 54, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital after a short, unexpected illness.
Cremation has taken place at the Dokken-Nelson Bozeman-Belgrade Crematory. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel in Bozeman.
Linda was born April 7, 1949, in Sheridan, Wyo., to Floyd J. and Pearl E. Whitford Reisch.
Survivors include her husband, David (Stew) Stewart; one son, Rickey Loftice of Livingston, Mont., and his two children, Eric Daniel and Denholm Desiree; one daughter, Renae Loftice of Anaconda, Mont., and her two children, Josie Rae Sarrazin and Wyatt Jeffery Sarrazin; her parents of Anaconda; one sister, Sandy Kuhl and her husband, Gary, of Reno, Nev.; and one brother, Floyd (Jon) Reisch of Anaconda.

Will Ella Gast
Louisiana - Will Ella Gast, 93, of Louisiana, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home in Louisiana.
Her remains will be cremated and a memorial service will be at a later date.
Survivors include one son, Bob Gast of Louisiana; and one daughter, Gail Sidwell of St. Louis.
