Foster, William Wayne
William Wayne Foster, 30, of Horn Lake, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at his home of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at National Funeral Chapel. Bro. Robert Rawson and Bro. Michael Bates officiated the service.

Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery in Sumner. National Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Foster, son of Tommy and Sandra Foster of Batesville, was born icon December 28, 1971, in Clarksdale. He graduated from Clarksdale High School.

He was a commercial heating and air technician and a member of Clarksdale Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Jessica Davis Foster of Horn Lake; a daughter, Jessica Anne Foster of Clarksdale; two sons, Jared Wayne Foster and William Jaden Foster, both of Horn Lake; a grandmother, Eula Mae Foster of Webb; a sister, Beth Foster of Batesville; and a nephew, John Haden Foster of Batesville.

Flint, Evelyn Conger
Evelyn Conger Flint, 85, of Batesville, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of a ruptured aneurysm.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 16, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Don Bishop and Rev. Martin Case officiated the service. Burial was in Batesville Magnolia cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Flint, daughter of the late Ben C. and Maybelle Hogue Conger, was born icon February 16, 1917, in Bolivar County. She was an honor graduate of Delta State University and did graduate work at The University of Mississippi. She taught history in the local public school for many years. She was a retired National Council Instructor in horticulture and flower show procedure and taught courses in the United States, Peru and Mexico. Having taught in the National Council Symposiums for Instructors Only, she won an award for outstanding achievement for horticulture for the State of Mississippi in 1980. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She helped organized the Batesville Public Library, the Batesville Woman's Club and the Batesville Garden Club, of which she served as president. She wrote a gardening column for The Panolian for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Calvin E. Flint, Jr. of Batesville; two daughters, Lucy Flint Fuller of Talladega, Alabama, and Judith Flint Savage of Batesville; two sons, Calvin E. Flint, III and Ben Conger Flint, both of Batesville; a brother, Ralph Conger of Rosedale; a sister, Lucille Vesley of Mobile, Alabama; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, First United Methodist Church, or the charity of your choice.

Lamb, Ollie Irene
Ollie Irene Lamb, 77, of Sardis, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 19. at 2 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was held at Forrest Memorial Park. Rev. Steve Cannon officiated services. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Lamb, born icon Nov. 24, 1925, to the late Ollie Dewey Jones and the late Mattie Arbitrius Holly Jones, was a homemaker and a member of the Batesville United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include five sons, James Lamb of Batesville, Tommy Lamb of Mountainburg, Ark., Daniel Lamb of Sarah, Miss., Frank Lamb of Marion, Iowa, and Tim Lamb of Holly Springs, Miss.; three daughters, Carloyn King of Waterford, Miss., Alice Russell of Denham Springs, La., and Maurine Keeton of Cleveland, Miss.; three sisters, Imogene Hester of Batesville, Helen Patton of Altheimer, Ark., and Wilma Bowles also of Batesville; one brother, Joseph Ollie Jones, of Marks; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Franklin Lamb and one son, Jimmy Wayne Lamb.

Lambert, Gary Lee
Gary Lee Lambert, 43, of Sardis, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at his residence.

Services were Thursday at Moore Funeral Home. Burial was at Rose Hill cemetery. Rev. Tim Alsup officiated. Moore Funeral Home had charge.

Lambert, born icon August 8, 1959, to the late Con Roy Lambert and Willa Culbertson Lambert Chessir, was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his mother Willa C. Lambert Chessir and his stepfather William D. Chessir, both of Saratoga, Ark.; one daughter Dana Marie Lambert of Sardis and two brothers, Jim Lambert and Con Lambert, Jr., both of Hernando.

Landreth, Sadie Bernice
Sadie Bernice Landreth, 77, of Batesville, died Saturday, August 16, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services were Tuesday at Dickins Chapel. Burial was at Batesville Magnolia cemetery. Rev. Al Mullin officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Landreth, born icon April 9, 1926, to the late Charles William Carson and the late Josie Lou Pullen Carson, was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Cephus James Landreth.

Survivors include one son Paul Landreth of Lancaster, Calif.; one daughter Ophelia Mangum of Batesville; four grandchildren, Janyene Hill of Maben, James Landreth of Lancaster, Calif., Kim Irby of Enid and Paula Seelos of Lancaster, Calif. and eight great-grandchildren.

Lawson, Robert Earl
Robert Earl Lawson, 65, of Sardis died Sunday, April 13, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.

Funeral services are today at 1 p.m. at New Rock Hill M.B. Church in Sardis. Rev. Harlem Harris Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Rock Hill cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.

Lawson, born icon May 6, 1937, to the late Alonzo Lawson and the late Maggie Gibson, was a retired truck driver and a member of Pleasant Green M.B. Church in Sardis.

Survivors include two sons, Terrell Lawson of Richmond, Calif., and Robert Earl Lawson Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter Deborah Lawson Rice of Sacramento; one brother Willie B. Lawson of Richmond; three sisters, Evilena Harris, Hattie Harris, both of Sardis, and Minnie Holloway of Richmond; his nephew who cared for him, Willie Hightower of Sardis and three grandchildren.

Lawson, Susie
Susie Lawson, 92, of Batesville, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services will be Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. at Rock Hill M.B. Church in Sardis, with interment at Rock Hill cemetery. Rev. Christine Allen Glass will officiate services. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. has charge.

Lawson, born icon Dec. 25, 1910, to the late Abe Holland and the late Rebecca Wallis, was a housewife and a member Rock Hill M.B. Church in Sardis.

Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Harris of Batesville; two sisters, Eva Carver and Delia Moffett both of Milwaukee, Wis.; and two grandchildren.

Leland, Norris Ray
Norris Ray Leland, 32, of Batesville died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at New Bethlehem M.B. Church. Rev. W. L. Nash will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. has charge of arrangements.

Leland, son of Charles W. (C.W.) and Beulah Marie Leland of Batesville, was born icon June 30, 1970, in Batesville. He was a truck driver for Butler Trucking Company and a member of New Bethlehem M.B. Church.

Survivors in addition to his parents include, two daughters, Kadraya S. Johnson and Rayven L. Leland, both of Batesville; one son, Norris Ray Leland, II, of Calhoun City; five sisters, Patara McDaniel and Rhonda Leland, both of Batesville, Twanna Leland of Memphis, Debra Johnson of Oxford, and Arlean Leland of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Larry Pearson of Oxford; Charles Wesley Leland of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; Curtis L. Leland of Coweta, Okla.; and Rudley Leland of Gary, Ind.; his grandmother, Mary Irene Roston of Batesville; and his fiancée, Amanda Perry of Batesville.

Lester, Aishia Kensha
Aishia Kensha Lester, 3, of Sardis, died Monday, September 8, 2003, in a residential fire.

Services were Thursday at Cedar Grove M.B. Church in Sardis. Burial was at Cedar Grove Church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.

Survivors include her mother Lameeka Lester of Sardis; two sisters, Denise Thomas Holmes and Ayana Rodgers Holmes, both of Sardis; two brothers, Shundarrius Lester and Quentarrius, both of Sardis and her grandparents, Gloria Lester of Sardis and Robert Dean Sr. of Memphis.

Lewellen, Robert H.
Robert H. Lewellen, 75, of Batesville, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at the V.A. Medical Center in Memphis of heart failure.

Services were Thursday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Mt. Olivet United Methodist cemetery. Rev. Wes Sherman officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Lewellen, born icon Jan. 2, 1928, to the late Shufford M. and Willie Lee Epps Lewellen, was a retired mechanic for Memphis Hanger Company, a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Mary S. Lewellen; two daughters, Theresa Lewellen Mettetal of Batesville and Patricia A. Lewis of Covington, Tenn.; one son Billy D. Lewellen of Batesville; three sisters, Martha K. Barbee of Batesville, Laverne L. Lewellen of Charleston and Bonnie C. Johnson of Sardis; one brother Cyrus A. Lewellen of Batesville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lewis, Cornelia Garrott
Cornelia Garrott Lewis, 81, of Senatobia, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at her residence.

Services were Sunday at Senatobia Church of Christ. Burial was at Bethesda cemetery. C.O. Pate Funeral Home had charge.

Lewis was a member of the Sledge United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband Harry L. Lewis of Senatobia; two daughters, Ann Lewis Glover of Moulton, Ala. and Linda Lewis Hogan of Senatobia; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions can be made to Sledge United Methodist Church.
