Arvin, Calif. - Gatha Hudson, 92, died Thursday, July 8, 2004.
Graveside services were Monday at South Kern cemetery District in Arvin, Calif.
She was born
in Tula.
Survivors include four daughters, Betty Bennett of Oklahoma City, Okla., Annie Ashmore of Tehachapi, Calif, Gatha Lindsey of Bakersfield, Calif. and Sue Ryan of Jena, La.; one son James ÒBuddyÓ Hudson of Batesville; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 17 great, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Hudson; two daughters, Janie Watts and Nancy Hudson; and one son William Hudson.

California - Gene Hudson, 92, died Thursday, July 8, 2004.

Huddleston, Robert Ephraim
Lambert, Miss. - Robert Emphraim Huddleston, 105, of Lambert, died Thursday, August 1, 2004, at Walter B. Cook Nursing Facility in Ruleville of heart failure.
Services were Thursday at Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Burial was in Salem cemetery in Ackerman. Rev. Murphy Eubanks officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.
Huddleston, born
Sept. 6, 1898, was a retired merchant and business owner and a member of Crowder Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jimmie Atwood Huddleston.
Survivors include one daughter Bettye White of Riegelwood, N.C.; one son James B. Huddleson of Memphis; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and his caregiver, Eunice Maxey of Lambert.

Carl Davis Hughes, 64, of Batesville, died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Services were Saturday at Antioch M.B. Church in Courtland. Rev. Jessie Frison officiated. Cooley's Mortuary Inc. had charge.

June 17, 1939, to the late Hubert Lee Hughes and the late Fannie Smith Hughes, was a member of Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Batesville.
Survivors include his wife Sammie Ruth Hughes of Batesville; six sisters, Juliet Bell of South Beloit, Ill., Edith Morgan, Betty Pinson, Norman Golden and Christine Hughes, all of Beloit, Wis. and Wilma Scott of Milwaukee, Wis.; three brothers, Ervin Hughes of Houston, Marvin Hughes of Chicago, Ill. and Hubert Hughes Jr. of Beloit, Wis.; and three goddaughters, Sandra Milan of Batesville, Scharta Johnson and Evelyn Thompson, both of Sardis.

April 20, 1909 in Panola County, to the late Edward Benjamin and late Lula Herring Lamb, was a homemaker and a member of Sledge United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son William Hughes III of Sledge; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were Saturday at Victory Baptist Church in Batesville. Burial was in Chapel Hill cemetery in Pope. Rev. E.K. Gordon and Bro. Tommy Beard officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Aug. 18, 1936, to the late John Henry Beard and late Addie Mae White, was a homemaker and a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Hutchens of Camp Hill, Pa., David Hutchens of Harrisburg, Pa. and John Glen Hutchens of Courtland; two daughters, Judy Lynn Woodard of Harrisburg, Pa. and Mary Jane White of Courtland; one step-son Lee Noel Hutchins of Coldwater; two step-daughters, Jeanette Strickland of Oxford and Janice Manuel of Coldwater; four brothers, J. W. Beard, Douglas Beard and Robert Beard, all of Batesville and Thomas Tommy Beard of Montermorelos, Mexico; two sisters, Virginia Duke of Batesville and Audrey Faye Bradley of Senatobia; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Beard, James Edward and Henry Leroy Beard and one sister Margaret Karr.

Services were Saturday at Harmonia M.B. Church in Sardis. Burial was at Harmonia cemetery. Rev. Clarence Rankin officiated. Eddie Robinson and Son Funeral Directors had charge.

April 8, 1957, was a member of Harmonia M.B. Church in Sardis.
Survivors include her mother Laura Turner; two sons, Dedrick Ivery and Melvin Ivery; and two sisters, Bessie Jefferson and Vera Turner.

Olive Branch, Miss. - Briston R. Jackson, 16, of Olive Branch, died Wednesday, September 1, 2004.
Jackson was a member of the youth choir of St. Luke and a student at Olive Branch High School.

Clarence Segrest Jackson, 75, of Sardis, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

Dec. 24, 1928 in Sardis, to the late Glover Jackson and Katherine J. Jackson, was a World War II veteran, a member of the First Baptist Church in Sardis and a retired U.S. Postal Clerk.
Services were Friday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery in Sardis. Rev. Jerry Sanford officiated. Moore Funeral Home had charge.

Cynthia Marie Armstrong Jackson, 45, of Batesville, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at her residence.

Services were Saturday at Porter Funeral Home. Graveside services were at Magnolia cemetery. Rev. Paul Blanchard and Rev. Wayne Sanders officiated. Porter Funeral Home had charge.

Oct. 25, 1927, was a retired Baptist minister and served churches in Louisiana and Mississippi for 54 years. He was a member of Singleton Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son Brent Jackson.
Survivors include his wife Sybil Davis Jackson of Louisville; one daughter Beverly Combs of Louisville; one son Bruce Jackson of Newton; three sisters, Rebecca Carter of Knoxville, Tenn., Margaret Snipes, Mountain View, Ark. and Prudy Parrish of Memphis, Tenn.
