Lunford
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Floyd Lunford, 22, of Greenville will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sisson Chapel of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville. He died May 30, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens, Indianola.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret Lunford of Greenville; his grandmother, Otha Lunford of Greenville; six uncles, Eddie Lunford, Terry Lunford, James Lunford, Ray Lunford and Leslie Lunford, all of Greenville, and Joseph Coleman of Memphis; one great-uncle, Jimmy Lunford of Rosedale; four aunts, Sharon Lunford, Mary Lunford and Lucille Lunford, all of Greenville, and Jo Ann Coleman of Memphis; two great-aunts, Minnie Ervin and Edna Lunford, both of Rosedale; and a special cousin, Chandrika Benson Capers.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.
The Rev. Thomas Morris will officiate.
Monittee
RALEIGH, N.C. — Funeral services for Peter Monittee, 56, of Raleigh and formerly of Glendora, Miss., will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Clair MB Church, Glendora. He died May 29, 2003, at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Glendora, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville, Miss.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Lee Monittee of Raleigh, N.C.; three stepsons; one daughter, Maggie Monittee; three brothers, Joseph Thomas of Charleston, Miss., Moses Tyler of Akron, Ohio, and George Tyler of Webb, Miss.; four sisters, Lorette Lee Wallace of Sumner, Miss., Ida Mae Thomas and Willie Bell Townsend, both of Glendora, and Odessa Wise of Chicago; and six grandchildren.
The body will lie in state Saturday at the church from noon to 1 p.m.
The Rev. A.C. Craft Jr. will officiate.
Perez
LELAND — Funeral services for Velda Raye Perez, 55, of Leland and formerly of Arcola, a homemaker, will be today at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. She died of heart failure June 4, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.
Mrs. Perez was born Jan. 2, 1948, at Forest, La., to George and Nettie Burch. She attended Oak Grove public schools and graduated from Oak Grove High School. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kenneth Perez on July 11, 2002; and her sister, Wanda Burch.
She has been a resident of the Leland and Arcola area since 1969. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Johnny Perez of Leland; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Scott Tice of Hollandale; four brothers, Joe Burch and Bobby Burch, both of Oak Grove, La., Willie (Carolyn) Burch of Guntersville, Ala., and Ronnie (Laura) Burch of Hardy, Ark.; two sisters, Ruby Roberts of West Monroe, La., and Kathleen (Art) Raymond of Branson, Mo.; and one granddaughter, Lydia Tice of Hollandale.
The Rev. Bill Bryan will officiate.
Turner
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Myrna Latrice "Trice" Turner, 25, of Greenville will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Shady Grove South MB Church, Greenville. She died June 4, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Sunflower Chapel Church Cemetery, Murphy, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
Myrna Latrice Turner, daughter of Mamie and James Jones, was born Feb. 19, 1978, in Mound Bayou, Miss. She attended Simmons High School prior to transferring to T.L. Weston High School, where she graduated in 1997. Trice also attended Mary Holmes College and Delta Beauty College, obtaining a degree in cosmetology.
At an early age, Trice confessed a hope in Christ at Mt. Horeb MB Church, Hollandale, under the leadership of the Rev. C.B. Jordan. In April 2002, Trice joined Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she remained faithful until her death.
Trice is survived by her adorable son, Christopher James Turner (21 months); her parents, Mamie and James Jones; two sisters, Monica Turner of Greenville and Samantha Jones of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Jhamaal Hamilton of Orlando, Fla.; her grandmother, Margie T. Johnson of Hollandale; one niece, Alicia Turner of Greenville; 14 aunts; 17 uncles; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and special friends.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, and Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Shady Grove South MB Church.
Pastor Charles Stewart will officiate.

Wells
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Rachel Clark "Floydie" Wells, 78, of Greenville will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Victory Temple Baptist Church, Greenville. She died June 1, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Local arrangements are under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
Floydie Wells, as she was known by friends, was the youngest of five children born to the late Julia and Ruben Clark on March 31, 1925, in Scott, Miss. She received her educational training in Scott and later moved to Vicksburg, Miss., and attended school there. She confessed a hope in Christ in 1939, at Silver Mount MB Church under the leadership of the Rev. Malton. She later joined Victory Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Jones. The church is presently under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Williams Sr., where she remained until her death.
Upon moving to Greenville, she was employed at Barq's Beverage Co. for 10 years, Greenville Nursing Home for three years, and Greenville public schools for 26 years, from which she retired in 1998 as a cafeteria worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred "Broke Leg" Wells; one son, Willis Williams; and two brothers, Willie Clark and Bennie Sanders.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Mary Jackson of Greenville; two grandchildren Dan (Carol) Jackson of Atlanta, Ga., and Cindy Jackson of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Beatrice Norfort of Vicksburg; four great-grandchildren, Markevia Gray, Canesha Gray, Saphiar Taylor and Lecorean Dean, all of Wichita, Kan.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.

Cire
GREENVILLE -- Graveside services for Susie Pearce Cire, 98, a retired homemaker, will be today at 10:30 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville. She died Aug. 25, 2001, at Mississippi Care Center, Greenville. Burial will be under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born in Clay County, Miss., and lived in Greenville since 1926. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greenville. She was the former manager of the old Paramount Theater during World War II.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Rene Cire and Leon Richard Schoonover, and two sons, Fred Lewis Schoonover and Eugene Pearce Schoonover.
Survivors include one son, Ray Richard (Mildred) Schoonover of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Ted Shepherd will officiate.

Biddle
GREENVILLE -- Graveside services for Bryant Kirk Biddle, 81, of Greenville, a retired member of the U.S. Air Force, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenville Cemetery. He died Jan. 26, 2002, at his home. Burial will be under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.
Biddle was a native of Greenville, where he graduated from Greenville High School. He was the son of the late Edward Leslie and Hazel Stone Biddle. He attended Southwest College, now Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1973, including WW II, being retired with the rank of master sergeant. He returned to Greenville in 1973, after his discharge, where he was a member of the Greenville First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three nieces, Mary Patterson Thomas of Houston, Texas, Ruth Jackson and Terrell Cheney, both of Lexington, Ky.; and four nephews, Kirk and Clyde Biddle, both of Tupelo, Miss., George Biddle of Grenada, Miss., and Oliver Smyth III of Montgomery, Ala.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Greenville.
Haynes
CLEVELAND -- Funeral arrangements for L.D. Haynes, 80, of Cleveland, are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Jan. 26, 2002, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland.
Kleespie
GREENVILLE -- Memorial services are pending in Washington state for David Long Kleespie, 82, of Greenville, a retired boiler operator. He died Jan. 26, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville, of heart failure. Smith Funeral Home, Greenville, will handle the arrangements.
Kleespie was born Nov. 24, 1919, at Petersburg, Iowa, to the late John and Bertha Kleespie. He moved to California at an early age with his parents, where he received his education. He later moved to Chehalis, Wash., where he worked for Reynolds Aluminum as a boiler operator until he retired. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. He has been a resident of Greenville since July 1999. He was an amateur radio operator and his call numbers were KD5 KUK. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Kleespie, in 1993.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David and Grace Kleespie of Greenville; one daughter, Carolyne Keech of Centralia, Wash.; two sisters, Barbara Lloyd of Piere, Mo., and Jaylene Piper of Chehalis, Wash.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
