Martin Peninger
Funeral services for Martin Peninger, 87, were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at North Union Church in Attala County with Rev. Rusty Walton officiating.
Peninger died June 24, 2004 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane Middleton of Wesson and Gayle Self of Vaiden; a son, Don Peninger of Jackson; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilson Peninger and G.W. Peninger.
Pallbearers were Ralph Self, Shannon Self, Sammy Moore and Bo Porter.
Milling Funeral Home of Union was in charge of arrangements.
Alice Lucille B. Alliston
Graveside services for Mrs. Alice Lucille Berryhill Alliston, 95, of Lexington were to be held today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
Mrs. Alliston, a native of Hinds County, died Aug. 2, 2004 at her residence. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three sisters, Yvonne B. Travis of Ridgeland, Nettie B. Atwood of Raymond and Ethel B. Purvis of Jackson; five nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Alliston. They made their home in Hattiesburg for many years and after his death she moved to Jackson before making her home in Lexington.

Raymond Boyd Beauchamp
Funeral services for Raymond Boyd Beauchamp, 70, of Moss Point, formerly of Kosciusko, were held July 28 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa.
Masonic rites were conducted at the graveside in Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula.
Beauchamp, a native of Attala County, died July 26, 2004 in Pascagoula. He was the owner-operator of Jackson County Wrecker Service, a member 32nd Degree Mason with Masonic Lodge No. 419, member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers Local 903, a Shriner with the JOPPA Temple of Biloxi, and a member of the Scottish Rites in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Mitchell and Ruby Lee Beauchamp; brother, Charles (Shorty) Beauchamp; sister, Betty Merle Rush.
He is survived by his wife, Nora Beauchamp of Moss Point; son, Danny Beauchamp of Pascagoula; daughters, Terrie Trehern of Pascagoula, Tonya Coleman of Pascagoula; brothers, Kenneth Beauchamp, Lavonne Beauchamp, both of Kosciusko; sisters, Mildred Jenkins of Kosciusko and Berstenne Edwards of Maben; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Rev. John Tucker, Rev. Hollis Howell and Rev. Roy Barlow officiated.
Brissie Carr Davis
Services for Mrs. Brissie Carr Davis, 94, of Sallis were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church No. 2 with burial in Roby Cemetery at Goodman.
Mrs. Davis, a retired nurse's aid, died July 29, 2004 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital following an illness of several weeks. She was a native of Attala County and a member of Pleasant Grove No. 2 M.B. Church.
She is survived by six sisters, Minnie Cotton of Sallis, Linnie Haynes of Jackson, Mary Alice, JoAnne, Claradelle and Od; a brother, Samuel Harvey of Sallis.
Rev. Larry T. Daniels officiated with Winters Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Casey Ray Ellington
Funeral services for Casey Ray Ellington, 16, of Kosciusko were held Friday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Ellington, an 11th grade student at Kosciusko High School, died July 28, 2004 in an automobile accident near Laurel Hill in Leake County. He was employed for the summer at Sunflower Food Store. He was a member of Kosciusko's First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his father, Ray Ellington of Kosciusko; his mother, Monita McCool, and stepfather, Ken McCool of Kosciusko; grandparents, Buford and Lillie Ellington of Kosciusko and Annette Atwood of Brandon.
Pallbearers were Larry Joe Moyer, Robert Clark, Tommy Galligan, John Mooney, Steve Myers, Bill Ross and Adam Hodges.
Rev. Barry Corbett and Dr. Ed Hartman officiated.

Matthew Holdiness
Services for Matthew Stephen Holdiness, 18, of Kosciusko were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with burial in Salem Cemetery.
Holdiness, a senior at Kosciusko High School and a member of the KHS baseball team, died July 28, 2004 in an automobile accident near Laurel Hill in Leake County. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. Gary and Donna Holdiness of Kosciusko; brother, Samuel Holdiness of Kosciusko; grandfather, R.L. Mitchell of Calhoun City; grandmother, Nettie Holdiness of Kosciusko; and other extended family.
Jordan Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Serving as pallbearers were Johnny Boswell, Eddie Thomas, Sid Steen, Marc Sims, Hunter Woodard and Wes Myers.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the baseball team of Kosciusko High School.
Dr. Ed Hartman and Rev. John Armstrong officiated.

Ruby Lee Hanna McGee
Services for Mrs. Ruby Lee Hanna McGee, 84, of Kosciusko were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Mrs. McGee, owner/operator of the convenience store Pick N' Pay, died Aug. 3,. 2004 at her residence. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Samuel Hammond Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was the widow of J.H. "Shorty" McGee.
She is survived by her children, Kay Downs of Kosciusko, Jackie McGee Price of Carthage, Robert Perry McGee of Kosciusko and Sandy Lee Burrell of Starkville; two sisters, Hazel Gant and Audrey Neal Hanna, both of Kosciusko; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harlon McGee; her father, Robert Bruce Hanna and mother, Mabel Powell Neal Hanna.
Rev. Barry Corbett officiated.
Pallbearers were Johnny Breazeale, Stevie Overstreet, Larry Stevens, Glenn Stevens, Jimmy Jenkins and Jimmy Rigby.
April Autry McNeal
Services for Mrs. April Autry McNeal, 26, of West were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Mrs. McNeal, a native of Holmes County, died July 31, 2004. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Durant.
She is survived by her mother, Eva Autry of Kosciusko; a daughter, Lindsey Morgan McNeal of Ethel; a brother, William Autry of West.

Hugh Lawson Nichols Jr.
Services for Hugh Lawson Nichols Jr., 89, of Lexington were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Lexington.
Nichols, a planter at Lynchfield Plantation in Tchula, died July 30, 2004. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a liaison pilot with the Spearhead Division and landed on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. He fought in the major European campaigns until the German surrender. After the war, he returned home and resumed his farming operations.
He and his wife, the former Annie Keri Trull, traveled extensively. He traveled to Africa, Australia, South America, Iran and Fijo to hunt big game. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Shikar-Safari International, Safari Club International, Game Coin and Greasy Bayou Hunting Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tchula.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Keri. In 2000, he married Betty Jane Thomas who died the same year. He is survived by sons H.L. Nichols III of Lexington, T. B. Nichols of Tchula; three grandchildren.
Rev. Shannon Manning officiated with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Julian Watson, Laird Hamberlin, Steve Flemming, Tom Hudson, Guy Boyll, Darrell Williamson.

Julia Dianne Ray
Services for Ms. Julia Dianne Ray, 54, of Kosciusko were held Monday at 10 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Ms. Ray, a native of Attala County, died July 30, 2004 at the University Medical Center in Jackson. She was a a former secretary-business manager at The Star-Herald. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where she had served in many capacities including vocalist, pianist-organist.
She is survived by her mother, Dot Boyette Ray of Zama; a son, Daniel Ray of Kosciusko; a daughter, Melissa McQueen; two sisters, Kay Hightower of Madison and Lynda Taylor of Leland; one grandson.
Rev. Johnny Parks and Dr. Ladell Blanton officiated.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Sammy Ray.
Pallbearers were Donald Boyette, James Bell, Charles Bell, Terry Bell, J.D. Burns, Roy Norris and Ronnie Taylor.
