NATCHEZ - Services for Bennie Lewis Davis, 55, of Natchioches, LA formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at V.A. Hospital in Alexandria, LA, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Gibson officiating.
Burial will be in Hunt's cemetery in Roxie under the direction of Webb Funeral System
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Davis was born
Jan. 11, 1949, to L.D. Johnson Davis and Willie Davis. He was reared by his aunt and uncle, Norvella Brown and Charlie Brown of Natchitoches.
He was a cement finisher and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Natchitoches. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He graduated from Natchitoches High School and joined the U.S. Army.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his father, Willie Davis; his sister, Rosie M. Woods; and his uncle, Charles Brown.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Sonietta Davis and their three sons, Kenneth Thomas, Daniell Thomas and Timothy Thomas; two daughters, Nikki Thomas and Starkere Davis; step-daughter, Whitney Thomas, all of Natchitaches; his mother, L.D. Davis of Natchez; his special aunt, Norvella Brown of Natchitoches; his former wife, Linda Davis and their four children, Bennie Davis of Houston, TX, Tonya Sarpy (Eric) of Natchitoches, Glen Davis (Christina) of Ft. Campbell, KY, Anthony Davis of Natchitoches; seven brothers, Willie Davis (Willie Bell), Billy Davis (Diane), Charlie Davis (Marie), Tommy Davis (Estella), Robert Davis (Debra), Roosevelt Davis (Theresa), all of Natchez and Michael Davis (Vanessa) of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Betty Woods (Cleotha), Florence Woods (Cliff), all of Natchez; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be members of the family.
Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers.
Dorothy K. "Dot" Gaudet
June 5, 1910 - Feb. 11, 2004
NATCHEZ - Services for Dorothy K. "Dot" Gaudet, 93, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at her residence, will be at noon today at St. Mary Basilica with Father David O'Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gaudet was born
June 5, 1910, in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of Edward Albert and Loretta Vicey McFarlane Kloppenburg.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Basilica and a member of the Alter Society, the Wednesday Morning Prayer Group, the Natchez Garden Club, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Muscial Arts League and the Natchez Little Theatre. She enjoyed volunteer work with the AARP and RSVP and as a board member of the Natchez Adams Council on Aging.
Mrs. Gaudet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Dr. Elmer L. Gaudet, Sr.; and three brothers, George Kloppenburg, Edward Kloppenburg and Joseph Kloppenburg.
Survivors include three children, Dr. Edward Gaudet and wife, Mary Jane of Natchez, Dottie Rainer of New Orleans and Dr. Elmer Gaudet, Jr. and wife, Dorethea of Biloxi; five grandchildren, Stephanie Gordan and husband, Roger of Austin, TX, Catherine Sliman and husband, Richard of Gulfport, Lisa Sandel and husband, Adrian of Vidalia, Monica Foster and husband, Bo of Hattiesburg and Edward Gaudet, Jr. of New Orleans; seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Claire and Caroline Gordan, Ashley and Will Sandel, Spencer and Mary Catherine Sliman.
Pallbearers will be Edward Gaudet, Jr., Adrian Sandel, Roger Gordan, Bo Foster, Pat Villemarette and Bruce Brice.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Bryant, Larry Buckley, Richard Sliman, Neil Varnel, Lester Freeman and Tommy Ferrell.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries or Cathedral School.

NATCHEZ - Services for Rebecca Ross, 57, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Aid Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Greene officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Ross was born
July 7, 1946, in Isawueena, the daughter of Rebecca and Curtis Brown.
She was a member of Forest Aid Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Ross of Natchez; one sister, Mable Williams of Natchez; two half-sisters, Sherry Ann Brown and Gloria Jean Robinson, both of Inglewood, CA; two half-brothers, Willie Curtis of Chicago, IL and Mitch Williams of Palm Dale, CA; two sisters-in-law, Amelia Little of Vidalia, LA and Nancy White of Natchez; one niece, Brenda Tuesno of Natchez; one nephew, Willie Lee Brown of Little Rock, CA; one great-niece and two great-nephews; one step-daughter, Marilyn Ross Bates of Natchez; one step-son, Vertis Johnson, Jr. of Columbus, GA; eight step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-granddaughter; and a number of step-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

NATCHEZ - Services for Nellie Brown Campbell, 69, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 2 with the Rev. Walter Sage officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of R.D. Mackel and Sons.
Visitation is from noon to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Campbell was born
May 15, 1934, in Adams County, the daughter of Hattie Pearl.
Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Campbell; three daughters, Betty Brown, Kathy Campbell and Edna Turner; two grandsons, George Brown and Deon Brown.
Survivors include four sons, Samuel (Jeraldine) Brown, Ivory J. (Jean) Brown, Leroy (Bernadette) Brown and Floyd Brown, all of Natchez; three step-daughters, Annie Hutton of Cleveland, Rosie Morton and Ida Haywood of Mound Bayou; three step-sons, Freddie Campbell of Mound Bayou, Charles Campbell, Jr. of Memphis, TN and Ben Campbell of Cleveland; three aunts, Pearl Randall, Alberta Davis and Marilyn Backwell of Vidalia, LA; one uncle, Ernest King of Natchez; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be M.L. Good, Otis Lewis, Robert Campbell, Charles Harris James and Daniel Belton.

Ms. McCoy was born
Dec. 28, 1947, in Natchez, the daughter of Bernice and Samuel McCoy.
She was a graduate of Sadie V. Thompson, was employed with Church's Fried Chicken and was a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church.
Ms. McCoy was preceded in death by her parents and one son, John Nell "Jake" McCoy.
Survivors include one daughter, Renee (Alfred) King of Coppell, TX; one son, Anthony (Vickie) McCoy of Natchez; three sisters, Gretta (Jessie) McCoy and Eddie Ray Perry, all of Natchez and Ella Mae McCoy of Saginaw, MI; two brothers, Samuel (Yvette) McCoy and Walter (Katie) McCoy, all of Milwaukee, WI; one uncle, Theodore McCoy of Vidalia, LA; six granddaughters and one grandson; and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Sophie Ringley Porter, 71, of Okmulgee, OK, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in the loving arms of her family.
Mrs. Porter was born
July 2, 1932, in Darbun, to the late Hilton and Eliza Ballard. She married
Carl D. Ringley in 1958 and was a loving wife upon his death in 1966. She married
James B. Porter of Natchez on June 27, 1968 and began a life united by love.
Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Porter; and her cherished first grandson, James Buchinger.
She is survived by her loving sister, Betty Bowman and nieces, Debbie Bailey and Tammy Oglesby of Natchez; her children, Linda Schaberg and husband, Buddy of Broken Arrow, OK, Lawrence Ringley and wife, Nina of McKinney, TX, Carla Buchinger and husband, Kenny of Conroe, TX, Faye Jones and husband, George of Okmulgee, OK, Jimmy Porter and wife, Melinda of Deerpark, TX, Charmaine Gaspard and husband, Farrell of Alexander, LA and Marty Porter and wife, Dee of Conroe, TX; 14 grandchildren, Kalah Spencer, Renee Sunday, Seth Ringley, Corbin Ringley, Brett Buchinger, Jenna Jones, Ashley Jones, Chelsey Jones, Tiffany Rose, Holly Porter, Matthew Gaspard, Taylor Williams, Daniel Porter and Kyle Porter; six great-grandchildren, Shawna Spencer, Christian Spencer, Mackenzie Spencer, McLaine Beneux, Wes Beneux and Adam Bright; and a number of other caring nieces, nephews and friends.
The family intends to celebrate her life with a memorial service to be held during the month of March, in Conroe, Texas.

Mr. Owens was born
March 3, 1921, in Jefferson County, the son of Rose Gaylor Owens and Solomon Owens.
He was retired from Cotton Holsum Bakery and was a member and deacon of Pry's Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, Willie Mae (Elmo) Hickingbottom of Indianola, James A. Owens of Texas City, TX, Thelma (Dumas) Hawkins and Clyde A. Owens, all of Natchez; one brother, Lee Owens of Natchez; four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and a special grandson, Lonnie Dean of Natchez.
