NATCHEZ - Services for John D. Hoggatt, 61, of Natchez, who died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in Plaguemine, La., will be noon Saturday at Milford Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the Milford Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Hoggatt was born icon July 28, 1943, in Adams County, the son of Georgianna Hoggatt and the late Monroe Hoggatt.

He was a machinery opertor.

Survivors include his wife, Mary R. Hoggatt; mother, Georgianna Hoggatt; three sons, Rufus M. Hoggatt, Lionel Hoggatt, both of Natchez, and Wayne Minor of Drew; four brothers, Monroe (Janie) Hoggatt, Morris Williams, Lee Andrew Williams, Norris Williams, all of Natchez; two sisters, Dorothy (Hezekiah) Early, and Lillian (Hal) Mays of Calif.; six sister-in-laws, Mildred Briggs, Gloria Middleton, Ernestine (James) Thomas, Dorothy (Marion) Green, Annie Singleton, all of Natchez, Elsa (Billy Joe) Turner of Hattiesburg; one brother-in-law, Freddie (Hattie) Weir; two aunts; three uncles; a host fo nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Morris Williams, Ventria Green, Dante Weir, Gregory Johnson, Hezekiah Early Jr., Jarthur Holmes, Wayne Early, and Michael Early.

Mildred Hancock Rushing

June 2, 1917 - Aug. 19. 2004

CROSBY - Services for Mildred Hancock Rushing, 87, of Crosby, who died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 in Picayune, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Crosby Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hollowell.

Burial will be in the Roseland cemetery in Gloster under the direction of Brown Funeral Home of Gloster.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Crosby Baptist Church in Crosby.

Mrs. Brown was born icon June 2, 1917, in Smith County, the daughter of Troy Hancock and Allie Gatewood.

She was a retired postal clerk and a life long resident of Crosby.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rushing; her parents; and three brothers.

Survivors include three daughters, Lynn (Gene) Gumfory of Denton, Texas, Mary (Gilbert) Isbell of Picayune, and Roberta (Harry) Holt of Little Rock; one grandson, Robert (Margaret) Lewis of Jackson; two sisters, Frances Orso of Crosby, Thelma Remmy of Greensboro, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rebecca Williams

Oct. 28, 1924 - Aug. 16, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Rebecca Williams, 79, of Natchez, who died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilderness Baptist Church with the Rev. Tyrone Gordon officiating.

Burial will be in the Wilderness Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Williams was born icon Oct. 28, 1924, in Adams County, the daughter of the late Lucy Williams Dunbar and Neal Thornburg.

She was a domestic worker and a member of Wilderness Baptist Church Mother's Board.

Survivors include one daughter, Marsha (Tyrone) Douglas of Dallas, Texas; three sons, Michael Douglas, Mark Douglas, and Macarthur Douglas, all of Natchez, eight grandchildren, Lauren Gordon and Allyson Gordon, both of Dallas, Texas, Mechelle Douglas of Gonzales, La., Michael Smith of New Orleans, La., Zachary Skinner, Mark Douglas Jr., Latrice Douglas, Kendrick Douglas, all of Manhattan, Kan.; one great-granddaughter, Karmina Douglas of Manhattan, Kan.; five sisters, Frances Anderson, Helen Curtis, Dorothy Abraham, Daisy Rollins, and Vivian Johnson, all of Natchez; one great aunt, Martha Rice of Natchez; two special cousins, Elsie White of Natchez, and Ernestine Hickman of Metairie, La.; a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Eric Williams, Gary Alexander, Kilpatrick Wilson, Otis Anderson, Oneal Hayes, Gerald Wells, and Michael Christmas.

L G Washington

Apr. 19, 1922 - Aug. 13, 2004

ROXIE - Services for L G Washington, 82, of Roxie, who died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Spring Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Luther Bonds officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez National cemetery under the direction of Curtis Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mr. Washington was born icon April 19, 1922, in Franklin County, the son of Hillary Washington and Ellen Holmes Washington.

He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and World War II veteran.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Henry Payne.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Lee Washington of Roxie; three step-daughters, Isola Trask, Luberda (Robert) Morgan, and Brenda Trask, all of Natchez; two step-sons, Bill Trask, and Earnest (Joyce) Trask, both of Natchez; two sisters, Bessie Lee Marrow of Houston, Texas, and Girlee (Melvin) Sanders of Roxie; one brother, M. C. (Thelma) Washington of Roxie; with nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

William H. Nettles

Dec. 29, 1962 - Aug. 17, 2004

GLOSTER - Services for William H. Nettles, 41, of Gloster, who died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at his residence, will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel, in Gloster, the Rev. Bobby Seal officiating.

Burial will be in the Hopewell cemetery in Crosby under the direction of Brown Funeral Home of Gloster.

Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9:00 p.m. until service time Friday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster.

Mr. Nettles was born icon Dec. 29, 1962 in Wilkinson County, the son of Ruth Cavin McGraw and the late Morris C. Nettles, Sr.

He was a sawmill laborer.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Ruth Cavin McGraw of Gloster; a very special friend, Sherry Gerolds of Gloster; five brothers, Steve (Sandra) Cox of Woodville, Morris Nettles, Jr. of Gloster, Bobby Nettles of Centreville, Ralph (Betty) Nettles of Hamilton, and Carl (Tammy) Nettles of Gloster; two sisters, Elizabeth (Lemuel) Whittington of Gloster, and Sue (Andrew) Partin of Gloster; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Nettles, Scott Nettles, Robby Nettles, Dusty Whittington, Bartley Whittington, Richard Felter, and Cory Nettles.

Honorary Pallbearers are Todd Bonnett and Cavin Heater.

NATCHEZ - Services for Rebecca Williams, 79, of Natchez, who died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004 at Natchez Regional Medical Center, are incomplete at George F. West Funeral Home.

James Willie Jackson

HERMANVILLE - Services for James Willie Jackson, 85, of Hermanville, who died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at his residence, are incomplete at Rollins Funeral Home.

Maurice William Reeves

GLOSTER - Services for Maurice William Reeves, 83, of Zachary, La., who died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, were held Aug. 16 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. of Zachary, La. The services were conducted by Rocky McCartney.

Graveside service was held Aug. 16 at the Roseland cemetery at 1p.m., in Gloster, under the direction of Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. of Zachary, La.

Mr. Reeves was retired by city-parish engineering department with 30 years of service and an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a referee

for basketball, vollyball, and football. He umpired baseball and softball for 42 years and loved to make "Beanie Baby runs" after he retired. He was a member of the Baton Rouge Independent Basketball Officials Association and the Baton Rouge Football and Umpires Association.

Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Maggie Havard Reeves.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Barbara White Reeves; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Reeves and Al Hyde; a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon Maurice and Connie Lynn Reeves; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Dean and Mack Darsey; brother and sister-in-law, Willie Jay and Laurie Reeves; four grandchildren, Derrick Maurice Sanders, Brianna Nicole Reeves, Brayden Maurice Reeves, and Brooklynn Renee Reeves; and a great-grandson, Kyle Sanders.

Pallbearers were Tommy Lloyd W, David White, Nicky Cowart, Matthew Landry, Heath Cowart, and John Gerage, Sr.

Honorary pallbearers were Kyle Sanders and Brayden Maurice Reeves.

Mrs. Annie T. White

June 19, 1914 - Aug. 15, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Mrs. Annie T. White, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004 in Natchez, will be 2 p.m. today from Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Ray Holland officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. until the service time.

Mrs. White was born icon June 19, 1914, in Winston County, Miss., the daughter of Lesley Fair and Una Mary Macadore Thrasher.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Pearl King of Natchez; five grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charles Davis, Lester King, Dave Freeman, Eric Collins, Williams Dauzat, and Bryan Autin.

Genevieve Blankenship Junkin

NATCHEZ - Services for Genevieve Blankenship Junkin, 91, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O'Connor officiating.

Burial will be at Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Junkin was born icon Oct. 5, 1912, in Crossett, Ark. She was educated in public schools in Bastrop, La., and began working as a secretary for F. Strauss & Sons in Monroe, La. In 1940, she moved to Natchez, where she served as secretary to the commandant at Jefferson Military College in Washington. Later, as owner of Southern Hospitality Service and founder of the Natchez Newcomers Club, she greeted newcomers to Natchez until her death. She was a member of the Natchez Garden Club and served on the Ball Committee and was a member of the Tuesday Ferriday Duplicate Bridge Club and the Friday Castle Bridge Club.

Mrs. Junkin was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Eugene Blankenship and Martha Alma Easterling Blankenship; her husband, William J. Junkin; and stepsons William J. Junkin Jr. and George M. Junkin.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Richard Smith and wife Virginia; her daughter, Martha Genevieve Junkin Seibert and husband J.W. Seibert; her grandson, William Colin Seibert and wife Renee; her granddaughter, Yancey Seibert; and her stepchildren, Mary Junkin, D.C., Margaret Junkin, D.C., Edwina Junkin Blanchard and husband Eugene Roderick Blanchard III, and their children.

Pallbearers will be Peter T. Burns Jr., Edward D. Eidt, D. Ross Partridge, Joseph E. Smith, John R. Junkin Jr., H. Lee Jones Jr., Larry L. "Butch" Brown Sr. and John E. McCullough.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Clifford R. Tillman, Dan D. McDuff, William J. Bellan, J. Walter Brown, E.R. Blanchard IV and John A. Bellan Jr.

The family requests memorials be made to St. Mary Basilica, P.O. Box 1044, Natchez, MS 39121-1044, or the Cathedral School Development Fund.

Mrs. Marshall Treppendahl (Jean)

WOODVILLE - Services for Mrs. Marshall Treppendahl (Jean), 79, a resident of Woodville and a native of Alexandria, La., who died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Woodville with the Rev. Ed Lundin officiating.

Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home of Baton Rouge.

Visitation is from noon until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Treppendahl was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Treppendahl; a son, Orla Roberts Treppendahl; a granddaughter, Laura Treppendahl; and a brother, Orla O. Roberts.

Survivors include two daughters, Jamsie Treppendahl of Boulder, Colo., and Liz Treppendahl of Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Coco Treppendahl of St. Francisville, La.; four grandchildren, Nora Miles Rigby and husband Hap Rigby of Jackson, and Katherine, Rob and Sophie Treppendahl, all of St. Francisville.

Pallbearers will be Wettlin Treppendahl, Clinton Treppendahl, Rob Treppendahl, Hap Rigby, Dickie Whitaker Clifford Whetsone, Steve Cheramie and Willie Henry Johnson.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 207, Woodville, MS 39669.
