John David Kelly Jr.
COMPTON, Calif. — John David Kelly Jr., a former resident of Vicksburg, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at his home. He was 76.
Mr. Kelly attended the Vicksburg school system and was a former member of Holly Grove M.B. Church. He was a former employee of Westinghouse.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late John David Kelly Sr. and Katie R. Kelly.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Allen Kelly of Compton; two daughters, Dorothy Mae Kelly of Compton and Georgia Ann Baker of San Diego; a sister, Katie Mae Kelly Berry of Vicksburg; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Simpson Family Mortuary of Inglewood, Calif., has charge of arrangements.

Rutha Mae Sanders-Simpkins
MIAMI — Rutha Mae Sanders-Simpkins died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in Miami. She was 73.
Mrs. Sanders-Simpkins was born icon in Bovina to Fred and Louisa Lacy Sanders. She was reared in Warren County.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Simpkins; four children, Charles Sanders, Carolyn Christopher, Felix Simpkins and Vanessa Tillman, all of Miami; two sisters, Elizabeth Sanders of Vicksburg and Tethel Bridge of Gary, Ind.; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Gregg L. Mason Funeral Home of Miami, 305-757-9000, has charge of arrangements.

John Henry Morgan
John Henry Morgan died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. He was 80.
Mr. Morgan retired from Anderson-Tully after 45 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie Mae Anderson; his parents, Mary Marshall and Gifford Morgan; three stepsons, Henry Chocolate, Jimmy Chocolate and Johnny Turner; and one sister.
Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

James Charles Bryant Sr.
James Charles Bryant Sr. died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at his residence in Crystal Springs. He was 67.
A native of Adams County, he lived in Claiborne County a number of years and was employed by the Bechtel Construction Co. during the construction of the Grand Gulf Nuclear Power Station. He was presently employed by T. & D. Logging in Georgetown, S.C., where he had been living for the past 20 years. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include a special friend, Sarah Jordan of Georgetown, S.C.; two sons, Jamie Bryant of Vicksburg and Robbie Bryant of Crystal Springs; three sisters, Ada Rose Thedford of Hermanville, Billie Prince of Vicksburg and Daisy Federman of Leesville, La.; two brothers, Edward Ray Bryant and Johnny Ray Bryant of Port Gibson; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. Michael Nation officiating. Interment will follow at Wintergreen cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Bryant, Jason Bryant, Kevin Bryant, Ray Bryant, Jerry Bryant and Tommy Ray Bryant.

Derrick Dewayne Funches
Derrick Dewayne Funches died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 36.
Mr. Funches was a 1994 graduate of Vicksburg High School. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Arthur James Harris; and maternal grandparents, Claude and Willie Funches.
Survivors include his wife, Zita Funches of Vicksburg; his mother, Indiana Caldwell of Vicksburg; his father, Avery Lloyd Harris of Vicksburg; a stepmother, Glory Harris of Vicksburg; five sons, Eric D. Funches, Derrick Funches Jr., Jaye’vious Funches, JaDarious Funches and Derion Funches, all of Vicksburg; a grandmother, Pauline Harris of Vicksburg; six sisters, Donya Squire of San Diego, Akisha Baker, Domenica Alisha Graham and Averianna Harris, all of Vicksburg, TaTanisha Baker of Biloxi and Cassandra Blount of Jackson; two brothers, Charlie Griffin and Terrence Harris, both of Vicksburg; other relatives and friends including Andrea Shelton, the Parson, Brown, Smith, White, Williams and Bingham families.
Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Albenna Moore Naylor
Services for Albenna Moore Naylor will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Christian Center with Dr. Ollie Hardaway Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at St. James cemetery in Fitler. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with family present from 6 until 7.
Mrs. Naylor died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 48.
She was a graduate of Vicksburg High School and a member of Faith Christian Church.

Donna Leigh Hadad
ARLINGTON, Texas — Donna Leigh Hadad, 57, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010, in Arlington, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pantego Bible Church, 8001 Anderson Blvd. in Fort Worth, with Dr. David Daniels and the Rev. Ryan Rasberry officiating. Interment will be at Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway in Arlington.
Memorial gifts may be made to Pantego Bible Church Compassion Fund.
Donna was born icon Aug. 6, 1952, in Dallas to John and Vera (Cantrell) Hudnall III. She graduated from Memorial High School in Tulsa, Okla., and Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in marketing. Donna had resided in Arlington since 1991. She owned and operated Mini Ideas Christmas Crafts.
Donna was a member of Pantego Bible Church, where she participated in the Women’s Ministry and Bible Study. She volunteered at the Arlington Pregnancy Center and Arlington Life Shelter. Donna loved to travel to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Kaanapali Beach in Maui, Hawaii. She enjoyed serving others and dearly loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vol and Oletta Cantrell of Dallas. She always put her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ first and foremost in her life, Proverbs 31:10-31.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Hadad; son, Matthew P. Hadad; daughter, Monica R. Ward and husband Marlon; father and mother, John W. III and Vera O. Hudnall; sisters, Terri Robinett and husband Edd and Jennifer Love and husband Mike; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Caitlyn and Alexis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stephanee Nichole David
TALLULAH — Stephanee Nichole David died Friday, April 30, 2010, in a one-car automobile accident on U.S. 80 near Mound, La. She was 26.
Ms. David was born icon in Delhi and had lived most of her life in Tallulah. She was a receptionist for H&R; Block.
She is survived by her mother, Terrie Lynn Parks of West Monroe, La.; her father and stepmother, Russell and Rhonda David of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three brothers, Michael W. David of Vicksburg, Russell Wayne David Jr. of McComb and James Stafford of Terre Haute, Ind.; one sister, Jackie Stafford of Walker, La.; two children, Terry Michael David and MyKayla Reed, both of Tallulah; and her fiance, Michael Dicell Reed of Tallulah.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with Brother Gene Haley officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. until the service.

James Michael Grantham
James Michael “Mike” Grantham died Friday, May 7, 2010. He was 44.
born in Lexington, Miss., Mr. Grantham had been a Vicksburg resident most of his life. He was a graduate of Warren Central High School and attended Hinds Community College. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Grantham was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, R.M. Grantham and maternal grandparents, the Rev. G.T. and Ruth Dukes.
Survivors include his wife, Tiffany O. Grantham of Vicksburg; two sons, Ryan Grantham and Drew Grantham, both of Vicksburg; his daughter, Ryleigh Grantham of Vicksburg; his parents, Melvin and Johnnie Grantham of Vicksburg; his sister, Traci Smith of Vicksburg; and his paternal grandmother, Annie Mae Grantham of Lexington.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riles Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Conrad, pastor of Wilderness Baptist Church, and the Rev. Kent Campbell, pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.
Memorials may be made to the Memorial and Honor Program St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.

Gina L. Tucker
Gina L. Tucker died Friday, May 7, 2010, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 41.
Ms. Tucker had been an employee at Vicksburg Convalescent Home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Tucker Sr.
Survivors include her mother, Willie B. Tucker of Vicksburg; two brothers, Billy Joe Tucker Jr. of Los Angeles and Joe Donovan Tucker of Vicksburg; four sisters, Inette JoAnn Tucker of Los Angeles, Barbara Jean Tucker of Dallas and Shawn M. Jones and Lisa Sanders, both of Vicksburg; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Jimmie Smith Jr.
CARY — Services for Jimmie Smith Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow at St. James cemetery in Fitler. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. He was 78.
He was of the Baptist faith.
