Mr. Evan Pryor, 87, of Big Point, Miss., died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, in Mobile, Ala. He was born icon Nov. 9, 1916, in Jones County, Miss. Mr. Pryor was a member of Hurley Baptist Church.

VAN WART
Paul C. Van Wart, 72, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Feb. 7, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Van Wart was formerly of Jamaica Plain, Weston, Massachusetts. He was employed as a Physicians Liability Specialist for McIlwain & Wells. He was an Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Van Wart was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 160 in Pascagoula. He was of Catholic faith.

HAYGOOD
Willa D. Haygood, 99, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in Pascagoula. She was born icon Oct. 23, 1904, in Green Hill, Ala. She was a retired day care teacher at First Baptist Church in Pascagoula. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Haygood; sons, Horace, Harold and Bobby Haygood; and daughter, Jane Klotz.

RICHARDSON
Elder Jeremiah Richardson, 32, died Feb. 5, 2004, at his home in Moss Point, Miss. He was born icon May 16, 1971, in Pascagoula, Miss. He was a faithful servant of God, and loved the Lord dearly. He was the pastor of New Covenant of the World Inc. until his accident. He was preceded in death by his father, Deacon Willie Russel Richardson Sr., and grandparents, Julia and Pete Richardson and Louis and Minnie Lee Ragsdale.

BUCKINGHAM
Mr. Charles Henry "Buck" Buckingham, 80, of Vancleave, Miss., died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 in Ocean Springs, Miss. Mr. Buckingham was born icon Feb. 20, 1923 in Louisiana. He was the loving father of five daughters and a son.

CALOGERO
Mrs. Dea (Lupinetti) Calogero, 81, of Gautier, Miss., died Feb. 6, 2004 at her residence. She was born icon Nov. 8, 1922, in Paulsboro, N.J. Mrs. Calogero was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Umberto Lupinetti; husband of 46 years, Samual A. Calogero; and sister, Dina Judd.

JETT
Josephine Inez Anastasas Jett, 90, of Pascagoula, Miss., and formerly of Ellisville, Miss., died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 in Moss Point, Miss. She was born icon June 13, 1913 in Dallas, Texas. She was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church in Jones County, Miss.

PRINCE
Roland Gordon Prince, 35, of Vancleave, Miss., died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at his home. He was born icon Dec. 18, 1968 in Vicksburg, Miss. Mr. Prince was a 1986 graduate of Live Oak Academy in Kreole, and was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Gautier. He worked as a Merchant Mariner with Reinauer Transportation Co., Staten Island, N.Y.

WARD
Mrs. Annie Marjorie Wilkerson Clark Young Ward, 90, of Moss Point, Miss., died peacefully on Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born icon April 1, 1913 in Daisey Vestry (Jackson County), Miss.

CLANGOR
Mrs. Ed (Lupine) Clangor, 81, of Gautier, Miss., died Feb. 6, 2004, at her residence. She was born icon Nov. 8, 1922, in Paulsboro, New Jersey. Mrs. Calogero was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Umberto Lupinetti; husband of 46 years, Samual A. Calogero; and sister, Dina Judd.

Mr. Johnny Lee Bell, 46, a longtime resident of the Moss Point area for the past 27 years, was born icon July 26, 1957, in Durant, Miss. He answered God's call to eternal rest on Feb. 2, 2004. He was a loving, hard-working husband and father. He was a devoted employee of Northrop Grumman Ship Systems for 27 years. He was a member of the Meridian Street Church of Christ.

HARRIS
Mrs. Frances Emilene Harris, 78, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at her home. She was born icon March 15, 1925, in Collbran, Ala. Mrs. Harris had lived in Pascagoula since 1947, and attended First Baptist Church of Pascagoula. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Mr. Troit and Mrs. Mattie McLaughin Drake; and a brother, Joe Drake.

PICKERING
Donald Pickering, 53, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at his home in Pascagoula. Mr. Pickering was born icon Dec. 13, 1950, in Laurel, Miss. He was employed at Northrop Grumman as a planner tester, and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was a Marine Corps veteran.

GREEN
Mrs. Dora Mason Green, 97, of Wade, Miss., died Feb. 3, 2004 in Vancleave, Miss. She was born icon Dec. 26, 1906 in Brush Creek Community, Lucedale, Miss.

KINCHEN
Kenneth William Kinchen, 43, of Chalmette, La., and a native of Pascagoula, Miss., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Chalmette Medical Center.

EASTERLING
Mrs. Barbara Jean Womble Easterling, 66, of Moss Point, Miss., died Feb. 1, 2004, in Jackson County, Miss. Mrs. Easterling was a member of Canaan Assembly of God Church and was an independent paper carrier. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel L. and Rosalee Smith; and first husband, James Womble.

LEBLANC
Virginia Claire LeBlanc, 82, of Helena, Miss., died Jan. 31, 2004, at her residence. She was born icon April 29, 1921, in New Orleans, La. Mrs. LeBlanc was a homemaker and of Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Icar and Bertha Perret; and husband, Robert L. LeBlanc.

MOONS
Mrs. Myrtis Davis Moons, 87, died Feb. 2, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Moons was a native of Citronelle, Ala., a resident of 1110 Old Mobile Hwy., Lucedale, Miss., a homemaker and a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Moons; and son-in-law, Gerald Evans.

MOORE
Yvonne A. Moore, 89, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, in Pascagoula. She was born icon Oct. 5, 1914, in Pascagoula, and has been a lifelong resident. She retired in 1977 from Ingalls Shipbuilding after working 34 years in the Blueprint Department. Until her health declined, she was an active member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula. During her retirement years, she enjoyed tending to her yard, decorating her home, and entertaining her family and friends.

STORK
Lillian B. Stork, 84, of Moss Point, Miss., died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at her home in Moss Point. Mrs. Stork was born icon May 25, 1919, in Kreole, Miss. She was a homemaker and loving Mother and Grandmother.

TALBOT
Eva Christine Talbot, 75, of Gautier, Miss., died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at her home in Gautier. Mrs. Talbot was born icon Dec. 24, 1928, in Adgar, Ala. Before retirement, she worked as a salesperson and department manager for TG&Y. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Edward Talbot; and her parents, Ervin and Daisy Shirley.

BARNCORD
Mr. William F. Barncord, 85, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at his residence. He was born icon Sept. 22, 1928, in Montana, but raised in Cumberland, Md. Mr. Barncord was retired from J.E. Steigerwald Co. and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Phyllis.

CUMBEST
Oris Denver Cumbest, 70, of Cumbest Bluff, Miss., died peacefully in his home Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004. He was born icon July 27, 1933, in Jackson County, Miss., where he lived all of his life in the Cumbest Bluff community. Mr. Cumbest was a conservation officer for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife and Fisheries until his retirement in 1996. He served 19 years in that position. In 1989, he was awarded District 6 Conservation Officer of the Year, and Mississippi Conservation Officer of the Year. In Mississippi House Concurrent Resolution 100 the state legislators cited Mr. Cumbest as a hunter, fisherman, teacher, organizer, and alligator wrestler, chosen as conservation officer of the year based on his continuous devotion and tireless community involvement, establishing a hunter's safety volunteer organization, and for his work in the deer management assistance program for better deer herd control. He was characterized by his peers as the "epitome of a conservation officer with no equal." Mr. Cumbest was a Commissioner for the Jackson County Fire District and when his children were in school, served on the East Central Local School Board of Jackson County School District. He was a lifelong member of Caswell Springs United Methodist Church where he served on the Administrative Board, the Board of Trustees, and held numerous other positions throughout his life He served as a Scoutmaster for Troop 238 and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. Mr. Cumbest served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 as a military policeman. He had a passion for farming, raising produce and livestock, and often sharing the fruits of his labor with neighbors and friends. With friends Bobby D. Kennedy and Frank Hamilton, he revived the old method of making cane syrup, creating a new tradition for the community to participate. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking, building furniture and toys for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to fish the Pascagoula River and was a founding member of the Magnolia Hunting Club in Wade. Mr. Cumbest was preceded in death by his parents, John O. and Mamie Cauley Cumbest; his brother, John Lewis "J.L." Cumbest; and a son, Nicolas Gill Cumbest.

GORDON
Mrs. Annie Louise Gordon, 86, of Lumberton, Miss., died Jan. 26, 2004, in Gautier, Miss.
