James E. Stringfellow, 77, of Pascagoula, Miss. died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, in Pascagoula. He was born
Sept. 26, 1928, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. and has been a long time resident of Pascagoula. Mr. Stringfellow was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was an employee of Ingalls Shipbuilding as a Q.A. inspector until 1974, when he started his own shrimping business with his boat ?he Teri Su-zanne?until 1994.

Mrs. Lelia Grierson, 89, of Escatawpa, Miss. passed away Dec. 1, 2005, in Worcester, Mass. She was born
Oct. 23, 1916, in Bexley, Miss. Mrs. Grierson was a retired business owner and a faithful member of Escatawpa Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman Grierson, Sr.

Mary Wooten Broadus, age 76, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, in Pascagoula. She was born
Dec. 25, 1928, in Grand Bay, Ala., and has been a resident of this area for 45 years. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Pascagoula.

Kimberly Davis, 30, of Escatawpa, Miss., died Nov. 30, 2005, in Lucedale, Miss. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arlie and Maudie Mae Davis, J.B. Hobby and Lizzie Hobby and a uncle, Orval Davis.

Eugene R. (Gene) Dees died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, in Mobile, Ala., Gene was born
May 10, 1947, in Starkville, Miss., but grew up and attended school in Pascagoula, Miss. He attended Mississippi State University and served in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam veteran. He had lived in Mobile, Ala., for the past 10 years. He was self employed at an Antique Dealer.

DANTZLER
Mr. Alfred F. "Alf" Dantzler, Jr., age 90, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away peacefully Wednesday evening Nov. 30, 2005, at his home. born
May 9, 1915, in New Orleans, La., to the late Alfred F. and Susie Belle Slaughter Dantzler, he had been a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mr. Dantzler was a graduate of Biloxi High School, Millsaps College, and the University of Mississippi. Mr. Dantzler was an industrialist; he began his working career in 1936 for the L.N. Dantzler Lumber Company, where he remained until 1943. In 1943, he became an agent for Standard Oil of Kentucky, a capacity he held until Dec. of 1980. He was instrumental in helping recruit Chevron Refining and Ingalls Shipbuilding to Pascagoula. During his business career Mr. Dantzler served as president of Dantzler Boat Barge Company, president of Fuel Services, Inc., president of Cayman Island Vessels, Inc., president of Dantzler Bulk Plant, Inc., vice-president of Mississippi Export Railroad, director of the Pascagoula-Moss Point Bank, director of Midstream Fuel Services, Inc., director of Hancock Holding Company, director of Mississippi Power Company, and a director of Southern Services, Inc. He also earned many awards including the Laurel Wreath Award in 1994, Lifetime Conservation Achievement Award from the Nature Conservancy in 1998, Mississippi Gulf Coast Citizen of the Year Award in 1986 the Jackson County Outstanding Citizen award in 1961 and he was inducted into the Mississippi Business Hall of Fame in 1997. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pascagoula. He touched many lives, and was a driving force in helping make Jackson County what it is today.

Nathan Alan Douell, age 23. A native and lifelong resident of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005.

Frieda Christina Goff of Big Point, passed in to eternal rest on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eduard and Wilhelmine Kinzig, Neckarhausen, Germany; a sister, Mathilde Schmidt, Neckarhausen, Germany; and her only grandson, Michael Holmberg of Big Point. Frieda was born
in Ladenburg, Germany, and moved to the United States in 1962 and became a U.S. citizen. She has been a resident of Jackson County and the Big Point community since that time. She was a member of the Eastern Star and attended Temple Baptist Church in Big Point.

Mackie L. McDonald, age 76, of Hurley, Miss., died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, in Pascagoula, Miss. Mr. McDonald was born
March 6, 1929, in Mississippi. He was retired from Civil Service, and Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict. Heritage Funeral Home, Escatawpa, Miss.

John K. Myrick, Sr., 68, of Petal, Miss., died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, in Ocean Springs, Miss. He was a retired tour bus driver and a member of the Baptist faith.

Jan. 10, 1927, in New Augusta, Miss. Mrs. Smith was a member of Griffin Street Baptist Church in Moss Point. She had retired as a seamstress from the BVD plant which was also known as Cinderella Knitting Mills. Mrs. Smith was an avid gardener and loved to cook. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family, many friends and neighbors.
