Mrs. Rosie Lee McCorvey Clausell, affectionately known as, Madear and Mama Rose. She was born icon on March 21, 1923 to the late Fin and Mary (Simmons) McCorvey in Tunnel Springs, Ala. She entered into eternal rest on Feb. 18, 2006 at the age of 82 at her home in Peterman, Ala.
Survivors include five daughters, Carrie (Elijah) Jackson, Floydell McCovery Downs, Joyce A. Blango all of Moss Point, Miss., Debra Burkhalter, Peterman, Ala., Ada Burkhalter-Sharp, Evertt, Washington; two sons, Calvin (Gatric) Toulson, Leo (Poncho) Toulson; devoted godchildren, Ernestine Underwood, James McWilliams, Rev. J.L. Henry, Sr.; extended family, Nancy Preyear, James Blango, Rev. Richard Henry, Rev. Johniel Henry, Jr.; 23 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Moss Point.
Funeral Service will begin promptly at 11 a.m. from the church.
Interment will be in First Baptist cemetery, Escatawpa, Miss.

COLLINS
Frankie Gray Collins, age 54, a native of Louisville, Miss. and resident of Harleston, Miss. passed away Wednesday Feb. 22, 2006.
Mr. Collins is preceded in death by his son, Adam Gray Collins; and his father, Charlie William Collins.
He is survived by his fiance, Louise Judy; his mother, Mrs. Ellie Gooden Collins; one son, Jonah (Connie) Collins of Lucedale, Miss.; three grandchildren, Nichole Skelton, Heath Skelton and Colleen Collins; four brothers, Charles David Collins of Lumberton, Miss., Paul Collins of Franklington, La., Dwight Collins of Hurley, Miss. and Brad Collins of Moss Point; two sisters, Jean Neese of Philadelphia, Miss. and Cindy Higgenbothem of Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, Miss.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Allen Hinton officiating.
Interment will be in Joyner cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, 9721 Hwy. 63 Escatawpa, Miss. 39552. Locally Owned and Operated.

ELLY
Augustine Rita Martin Elly, the baby girl of Frank and Elouise Petite Martin, was born icon on Sept. 12, 1912 in the East Side Community of Moss Point, Miss. She peacefully returned home to her God on Feb. 20, 2006 at River Chase Village in Gautier, Miss. at the ripe old age of 93, with her children, grandchildren and friends witnessing her home-going. She married icon Andrew Thomas Elly on Jan. 3, 1933 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. They resided on North Market Street and raised their children in the home built by the two of them. She said goodbye to the love of her life when he passed on Dec. 14, 1977. In addition to her husband and parents, preceding her were three brothers, Peter Martin Sr., Nerus Martin Sr. and Leo Martin Sr.; three sisters, Nettie Martin Carter, Olivia Martin Williams and Lucille Martin Boea, and two great granddaughters, Raven Duffy and Ghtaila Elly.
Muh, as she was affectionately called by her children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors, leaves to cherish her precious memories, three daughters Beverly (Gerald Sr.) Duffy, Rita Esther (Harold Jr.) Wilson, and Angelia (Ralph Sr.) Johnson; two sons, Andrew Jackie (Faye) Elly and Marcel (Velma) Elly. She also leaves her legacy with her grandchildren. Grandsons, Gerald Duffy Jr., Marlowe (Ann) Duffy, Marcus Duffy, Darryl Wilson, Hal (Stephanie) Wilson, Derrick Wilson, Joshua Wilson, Ralph Johnson Jr., Christopher (Tina) Elly, Shawn (Farrior) Elly, Orin Wilson, Naturio (Uzima) Meggs Sr., Anthony Elly and David Elly; her granddaughters, Emmaria Duffy, Jacketta Elly, Brenda (James) Erby, Janis (Greg) Harris and Gina Elly, and her two special Angels who took good care of her, Elisha Johnson and Katrina Johnson. She also leaves 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Miriam Elly and Dorothy Martin; one godson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Elly was a life member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in which she was very involved until her health started to fail. She was a member of the Altar Society, Legion of Mary, Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a 75-year member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court #4, a March of Dimes volunteer, member of the Nightingales Social Club, member of the Progressive Club and a surrogate mother to two families in addition to being a full-time wife and mother. Her greatest assets were her humility and humbleness.
Mrs. Elly's viewing will be Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 3702 Quinn Drive in Pascagoula. The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary will perform their wake ritual at 9:30 a.m. followed by the recital of the Holy Rosary. The funeral Mass will began promptly at 10 a.m. with Father William Norvel SSJ as celebrant and her nephew Deacon Ernest Johnson assisting.
Interment will be in St. Peter's cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.
The Repast will be at Cre??de la Cre'me, 3906 Main St. in Moss Point.

O'SHAUGHNESSY
Mrs. Mary Gladys Allen O'Shaughnessy, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006 at her residence. born icon Oct. 11, 1921, the fourth of 13 children to the late Will and Ethel Hodges Allen in Kosciusko, Miss., she was a longtime resident of Pascagoula. She married icon James J. O'Shaughnessy of New York, in Biloxi, Miss. in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1956. She was an original and devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bayou Cassotte for many years prior to her illness. She was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Peavey, and five brothers Robert, Hubert, Vernon, James, and Morris and two brothers-in-law, Edward and Joseph O'Shaughnessy.
Among her survivors are three children, Patricia Strahan and her husband Michael of Burkburnett, Texas, Barbara Hale of Pascagoula, Michael O'Shaughnessy and his wife Carol of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; three sisters, Pauline Lewis of New Orleans, Ruby Koster, Dovie Allen both of Covington, La.; three brothers, John F., Allen of Jackson, Miss., Willie Rosemond "Doc" Allen and his wife Nell of Vancleave, Miss., Charles "Billy" Allen of Gulfport, Miss.; four sisters-in-law, Sybil and Mitsuko Allen both of California, June and Mary O'Shaughnessy of Connecticut and New York; 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 24, 2006 at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 in the funeral home chapel with Father Mike Kelleher officiating. Commendation and Farewell will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy or the Katrina Recovery Fund of your choice.

WATSON
Mr. Edward L. Watson, of Moss Point, Miss., died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006. He was born icon July 24, 1953 in Moss Point, to the late Johnnie and Mary Watson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three sisters, Ethel Beverly and Deloise Moody of Pascagoula and Juanita (Robert) Mendenhall of Gautier, Miss.; four brothers, Johnnie Watson, Wilfred Watson, Albert (Marilyn) Watson all of Pascagoula and Tommie Watson of Greenville, Ala.; nine aunts, Josephine Edward Washington, Carolyn (Douglas) Macky, and Annie Bell Bonners all of Pascagoula, Miss., Bama (Eddie) Williams, and Jeanetta Beverly of Gretna, La., Betty Wade and Viness Ducey of Fort Worth, Texas, Sabrina Onyeagwu, Baltimore, Md. and Lucy (Ernest) Howard of Greenville, Ala.; four uncles, Joe (Edmee) Beverly, Gautier, Miss., Bill (Wanda) Beverly, New Orleans, La., James (Jackie) Beverly, Detroit, Mich. and Jimmy (Laura) Beverly of Greenville, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephew, cousins and friends; and two devoted friends, Ida Bell Williams and Sammy Lee Bell of Moss Point, Miss.
Viewing will be held from 1-2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 at Millender's Funeral Home Chapel, 4412 Main Street, Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral Services will begin promptly at 2 p.m. from the church.
Interment will be in Scranton cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.

ADAMS
Mrs. Betty Sligh Adams, (Aunt Betty), age 77, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, in Pascagoula, Miss. Mrs. Adams was a native of Schlater, Miss. and was born icon on Oct. 16, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Lela Sligh. Mrs. Adams was employed by the Mississippi State Department of Welfare in Yazoo City for 11 years prior to moving to Pascagoula where she had resided for the past 45 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, A.J. Adams, sister, Josie Sligh Gammill, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at Holder-Wells Fu-neral Home in Moss Point. Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. M.L. McCormick, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula, Miss.

ADAMS
Mr. Charles "Donald" Adams, Jr., 46, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Ocean Springs Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, Miss. and a member of Gulf Coast 7th Day Adventist Church. He was always smiling, friendly and everyone loved him. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Donald Adams, Sr.; and grandparents, Henry and Viva Adams, Otis Hales Sr. and Ina Mae Hales.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother, Norma Jean Adams of Ocean Springs, Miss.; sister, Diane Arledge and husband, "Steve" of Pace, Fla.; nephew, Robbie Adams of Ocean Springs, Miss.; grand nephew, Kyle Adams, Ocean Springs, Miss.; grand niece, Cheyenne Santa Cruz of Saucier, Miss.; several aunts, uncles and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Kristin Vergunst and the Nurses at Ocean Springs Hospital.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2005, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gulf Coast 7th Day Adventist Church, 13301 Hwy. 67, Biloxi, Miss.
Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. at Meridian Memorial Park with Elder Brian Danese officiating.
Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park.

MORAIS
Mr. Robert M. Morais, 68, of Gautier, Miss., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006.
born Aug. 11, 1937, in Fall River, Mass., to the late Roland and Jean Morais, he had been a resident of Gautier since 1970. He served in the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. For the past 36 years Bob was an employee of Northrop Grumman Ship Systems In-galls Operations. As an Engineering Specialist in Research and Development, he contributed extensively to next generation naval ship technology and was well known and respected throughout the in-dustry for his leadership in implementing fiber optics and advanced lighting technology in U.S. Naval ships. Bob was a past member of the American Society of Naval Engineers and contributed several technical papers to the Society. Bob received numerous awards and commendations for his accomplishments in technology development including: the Navy's AEGIS Excellence Award for the development of fiber optic shipboard sensors and communications systems; the AEGIS Excellence Award for the development of a unique digital indicator system; the Litton Advanced Product Development Award for ad-vanced lighting technology development for navy ships; and a Northrop Grumman Certificate of Achievement for the development of new system cables.
Among his survivors are his wife, Deanna Morais of Gautier, Miss.; two sons, Robert Morais of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Alexander Morais and wife, Janelle of Gautier; three daughters, Julianna Morais of New Orleans , La., Sandra Foster and husband Philip of Mobile, Ala., and Suzanne Morais of Austin, Texas; three brothers, Roland Morais and wife, Carol of Summerdale, N.J., Raymond Morais and wife Ellie of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kenneth Morais and wife Amy of Philadelphia, Pa.; one sister, Carol Chace and husband Bob of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one grandson, Philip Foster Jr. of Mobile, Ala.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 6 to 9 p.m. Rosary will be at 5:45 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gautier, Miss. with Father Patrick Hayes as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Griffin cemetery in Moss Point, Miss.

FAIRLEY
Mrs. Shirley Jean White Fairley, 64, of Lucedale, Miss., died Feb. 17, 2006. She was born icon Nov. 22, 1941 to the late Johnnie White and Earlie B. White in Hattiesburg, Miss. She was the oldest child of six children. She was preceded in death by three step-sons, Mr. Joe Fairley, Mr. J. W. Fairley, and Mr. Milton Fairley; and by one step-daughter, Ilene Hale.
Shirley was united with Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Church April 13, 1973. She was a faithful member until her death at home in Benndale.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Mr. Tom Belthley and Mr. Dan Fairley.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two children, Tommie Lee White of Clinton, Miss., and Nehru White of Elmira, New York. One sister, Mrs. Billy Faye (Isaiah) Palmer of Newton, Miss.; two brothers, Lancy (Geraldine) White of Citronelle, Ala., Mr. Louis White of Hattiesburg, Miss.; six step-daughters, Mrs. Para Lee (Jerry Baskin of Hattiesburg, Miss., Mrs. Evelyn Fairley of Biloxi, Miss., Mrs. Ruby (Frank) Perryman, Mrs. Rena (Jeff) Fairley, Mrs. Nettie Jones, Mrs. Georgia (John) Morris; four step-sons, Mr. Hardie (Gladys) Fairley, Rev. Charles (Glenda) Fairley, Rev. Daniel (Donnie) Fairley, Mr. Billy (Toreatha) Fairley, all of Benndale, Miss.; two special aunts, Mrs. Vernell Jackson and Mrs. Lorine Lee both of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cowan Funeral Home Chapel in Lucedale, Miss.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006 at 12 noon at Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Lucedale, Miss. (Benndale Community). There will also be a visitation one hour prior to service time at the church.
Interment will be at Sweetwater cemetery, (Benndale Community), Lucedale, Miss.
