John Sidney Hume Sr.
CODY, Wyo. - John Sidney Hume Sr., 98, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at West Park Hospital.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Ballard Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Riverside cemetery.

Sena Joslin
SIDNEY - Funeral services for Sena Joslin, 92, Sidney, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at the Pella Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Sidney cemetery under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.
Sena Maria Hundtofte Joslin was born Feb. 23, 1907, in Ord, Neb. Her parents, Karl and Karoline Hundtofte, moved with their family in 1910 to the Brorson Community. Sena and her family attended the Brorson Church. Sena left Brorson to attend school in Nebraska.
Sean attended Dana High School in Blair, Neb., and later the Kansas City School of Nursing. Sean received her degree in Pediatric Nursing.
It was while working as a pediatric nurse in Laurel, Neb., that she met and married Glen W. Joslin in 1936. They moved to the Ridgelawn Community where they farmed and raised their five children.
Sena was a long time member of Pella Lutheran Church. She participated in the Ladies Aid, Altar Guild and church choir. She was also active in her community as a 4-H leader and the Ridgelawn Homemakers Club.
Sena died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at the Home Sweet Home Care.
Sena is survived by her sons, Richard and wife, Sharen of Beverly Hills, Fla., Steven and wife, Annette of Sidney, Alan and wife, Jan of Eden Prairie, Minn.; daughters, Betty Erlandsen and fiance, Terry of Minneapolis, and Carolyn Joslin of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; sister, Lydia Hundtofte, of Sidney; grandchildren, Dana, Craig and Robert Erlandsen, Danica Champion, Richard Joslin and Therese Steppe; great-grandchildren, Breanna, William and Dmitri Joslin Steppe and Jessica and Kyla Joslin.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; brothers, Chris, Theodore, John, Alvin and Anton.
We'd like to especially thank the staff at Home Sweet Home Care Center for their gentle and loving care of our mother.

William M. Kreiner
On Saturday, July 31, 1999, Bill Kreiner, 43, died at Deaconess Medical Center in Billings.
Bill was born in Red Lodge on Jan. 27, 1956, the son of William and Dorothy (Smegal) Kreiner. The family moved to Billings when he was 2, and this has been his home ever since. He attended Broadwater grade school and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1974. Bill worked as a manager for McDonalds and then was employed at Montgomery Wards for 23 years from 1976 to 1999, working in both sales and management. He was the youngest manager nationwide for Wards, and one of the only managers to run all five big-ticket departments at once.
Bill loved to celebrate! He was one of the founding members of the Lumberjacks Association, an organization dedicated to the celebration of life. Halloween, New Years, Fifties, and Star Trek were some of the theme parties he organized for family and friends and was always the M/C at employee parties. He loved caroling parties at Christmas. He was a stable, loyal and dependable person who always fought for the underdog, and was extremely generous to family and friends alike. He jokingly adopted Mr. Rogers' motto, "You are special, won't you be my friend?"
Bill leaves behind his mother, Dorothy Kreiner, sister, Sherry Bonovich, both of Billings; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Maureen of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Meg Kreiner of Spokane, Wash.; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Doug Crosby of Polson; and his longtime companion and friend, Trish Brooks of Billings. Other survivors include 10 nieces and nephews and four grandnieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A vigil service will be at Dahl Funeral Chapel on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be at Holy Rosary Church on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. Private family interment of ashes will take place in Holy Cross cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Vincent de Paul, 2610 Montana Ave., Billings, 59101.

Kathryn Laird
FORT SMITH - Kathryn Laird, 28, of Fort Smith, drowned Saturday, July 31, 1999, in the After Bay Lake near Fort Smith.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at the Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin is in charge of local arrangements.

Angeline 'Angie' Loveland
WORLAND, Wyo. - Angeline "Angie" Loveland, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at Washakie Memorial Hospital.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Veile Mortuary Chapel. Cremation will follow with private interment of cremated remains at Riverview Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Othelia Mathern
Othelia Mathern, born the fourth daughter of Christ and Christina Kramer in Elgin, N.D., passed away Aug. 1, 1999. When still a child, her family moved to Forsyth where she attended school and graduated from high school.
In 1933 she married Donald Grace. They had one daughter, Eloise. Othelia worked at the depot in Colstrip and at a variety store in Forsyth. In 1945 she married Joseph Mathern in Billings. She went to work for Hart Albin's alteration department, and later Jason's and Doyles. After this, she worked for 20 years for a local drapery shop while taking on additional sewing jobs which she did at her home.
Poor health made her give up the work she enjoyed. Othelia was a people person and enjoyed doing things for the neighbors and their children, especially at holidays. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1634. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband.
Othelia, born Feb. 25, 1915, is survived by her husband, Joseph Mathern, her daughter, Eloise Walter, and a grandson, Jerry Walter, all of Billings; a granddaughter, Linda Walter of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Reuben Kramer of Billings and Carl Kramer of Independence, Ore.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She cared about all of them.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. W., with interment to follow at Mountview cemetery. Visitations will begin Thursday morning at the Smith West Chapel and continue until service time on Friday.

Harriet 'Hat' McGee
CODY, Wyo. - Harriet "Hat" McGee, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at her home of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Christ Episcopal Church. Ballard Funeral Home is in charge.

Warren P. Myers
MEDORA, N.D. - Warren P. Myers, 72, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at his home.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Price-Murphy Funeral Home in Dickinson; 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the funeral home; and 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Medora Community Center. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the center with interment in the Medora Community cemetery.

Verna Alvina Plotts
LYNDEN, Wash. - Verna Alvina Plotts, of Lynden, passed away Saturday, July 31, 1999; she was 100 years old. She was born Oct. 29, 1898, to James and Hilda (Barrett) Butler. Verna was born in a sod house in the sand hills of Nebraska near Broken Bow. Verna married Lewis Plotts in Broken Bow, Neb., in 1916. Verna homesteaded with her husband Lewis in Treasure County, Mont., and ranched and farmed near Hysham and Custer, Mont. Verna and Lewis Plotts enjoyed a long association with Ralph and Mary Swanson as partners in a ranch near Custer. She was a resident of Custer until moving to Lynden in November of 1997.
Mrs. Plotts was a member of the Congregational Church and Senior Citizens Center in Custer. She enjoyed gardening. She was the last surviving member of her family of seven. She is survived by her son, Gordon Plotts and wife, Diane of Lynden, and four grandchildren Theresa, Cory, Joseph, and Maureen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Plotts, in 1968
A vigil service will be held noon Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lynden. Memorial Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at the Congregational Church in Custer followed by a reception.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Whatcom County or a local hospice in Montana.

Frank Redcherries
LAME DEER - Frank Redcherries, 81, of Lame Deer, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
Wake service will be Thursday evening, Aug. 5, at his home in Lame Deer. A Chief Society service will be held Friday morning, Aug. 6, at his home and the Lame Deer cemetery. Rausch Funeral Home is in charge.

Floyd H. Smith
LEWISTOWN - Floyd H. Smith, 71, died Friday, July 30, 1999, at his home.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Creel Funeral Chapel.

Joe F. Beitman
Joe F. Beitman, 46, of Billings, died unexpectedly of an asthma related attack on Saturday, July 31, 1999, at St. Vincent's Hospital. The son of Clarence and Betty (Haythorn) Beitman, he was born in Billings on Oct. 15, 1952.
Joe was raised and educated in Billings and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1970. He attended E.M.C. for one year before enrolling in Montana State University, Bozeman. He received his degree in marketing in 1975 and moved to Salt Lake City, where he met and married his wife, Kerry Moore. They lived in Bozeman, Casper, Chico, Calif., and Great Falls, before moving to Billings in 1996.
While in Casper, Joe began his career in home improvement with Pay N' Pak Stores. In Billings, he began working for Eagle Hardware, where he was Assistant Manager at the time of his death. Joe was a true craftsman, who took great pride in his remodeling projects in every home the family lived in. He loved his 55' Nomad, which he obtained from his cousin Perry in 1969. He also enjoyed skiing and golfing, but mostly spending time with his family. He was a member of the Laurel Golf Club. Joe was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence, in 1995.
Survivors include his beloved wife and children, Kerry, Jenny, Brian and Perry; his mother, Betty Beitman; his brothers, Bob and Bill; and his nieces and nephews, Mari, Joni, Nancy, Trevor, and Donny.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3 at Faith Chapel, 517 Shiloh Rd. Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist has charge of arrangements.

Constant 'Con' Debuf
SHAWMUT - Constant "Con" Debuf, 93, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, at his home.
A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Harlowton with interment in Harlowton Catholic cemetery. Perkins Funeral Home is in charge.

Beatrice Louretta Hilbelink Heser
WOLF POINT - Beatrice Heser, 81, died Friday July 30, 1999, at Trinity Hospital of heart failure.
Viewing will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2 and services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3 at Clayton Memorial Chapel with interment in Greenwood cemetery.

Jodi Jean Lee
LAUREL - Jodi Jean Lee, age 9, died Friday, July 30, 1999, of injuries she received while riding her bike near her home west of Laurel. She is the daughter of Dennis and Rhonda Lee.
Jodi was born Feb. 10, 1990, in Mt. Vernon, Wash. and had lived in the Laurel community since 1993. She was an excellent student about to enter the fourth grade at Laurel's West Elementary School where she will be missed by her many friends and teachers. She loved to read and her parents are very proud of her accomplishments.
Jodi was very active in church, participating in Sunday School and Bible Club programs. She loved to sing and had accepted Jesus as her personal savior. She loved summer Bible camp where she earned both the "Chatter-box" and the "Goin' to Heaven" awards.
She is survived by her parents, younger brother, James and older brother, Jesse; grandparents, Ron and Donna Walter of Laurel and Byron and Darlene Lee of Billings; and great-grandmothers, Pauline Walter and Frieda Kindsfather, both of Laurel. Additionally, her loss is mourned by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins and we thank her Godparents, Debra Stankovich of Richland Washington and Hal and Cheryl Dantic of Laurel for the special role they played in her life.
She joins her cousins Alex and Lee who have preceded her to our Lord Jesus' eternal comfort.
Oh Jodi, precious angel, words cannot express the height of our love or the depth of our grief. We cherish every memory of your long blonde hair, your bright cheery eyes and your love and enthusiasm for life. You will always be the joy of your father and the happiness of your mother. We will love and miss you always.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the First Congregational Church in Laurel.

Charles Nelson
SAVAGE - Funeral services for Charles Nelson, 82, of Savage are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at the First Congregational Church in Savage. Interment will be in the Riverview cemetery in Savage under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney. Memorials maybe made to the Savage Congregational Church or the Savage Ambulance Service.
Charles Nelson was born Sept. 25, 1916, to John and Laura (Gill) Nelson in Burns, Mont. Charles had two sisters and they spent their childhood in the Savage area. Charles attended the Midway and Savage Schools completing the 9th grade. Charles started working for farmers in the Midway community when he was 14. On June 3, 1939, he married Marian Harris at the Congregational Parsonage in Sidney. After their marriage, Charles continued working for farmers and Holly Sugar. In 1941, Charles started farming on his own, south of Savage, with a team of horses that were a little on the wild side. One time, when he left them unattended and hooked up to a leveler, the horses took off and made a swath through the grain fields before they stopped. Charles and Marian raised two sons, Larry and Keith, and one daughter, Marilyn. In 1945, Charles moved his family along with several neighbor families to Kinsey, where they planted the first sugar beets on the Kinsey project. With his "B" John Deere Tractor, he pulled a rubber tired wagon loaded with the family's belongings. The trip took two days! After 10 years, they returned to the Midway community where Charles farmed until 1966, when he bought a dry land farm east of the Yellowstone River across from Savage. Charles retired in 1983 and moved into Savage. After retiring, he and Marian enjoyed several bus tours including three trips to the Calgary Stampede, where Charles especially enjoyed watching the chuck wagon races. Charles was an excellent ice skater. Charles and Marian always enjoyed dancing.
Charles is a member of the Savage First Congregational Church and has been active in the 4-H, serving as a leader. Charles has also been a member of the Farmers Union, Kinsey School Board, Savage cemetery committee, the Savage Senior Citizens, and the Savage Fire Department.
Charles died on Saturday, July 31, 1999, at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care Facility.
Surviving him are: his wife, Marian Nelson of Savage; two sons, Larry Nelson and wife, Dotti of Billings, and Keith Nelson and wife, Donna of Savage; a daughter, Marilyn Wheeler Daniels and husband, Wheeler of Billings; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ilene Dawe and Doris Gauthier.
