Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Sidney cemetery Columbarium under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Gregory Dale Robinson, 50, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, N.D..
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for two hours before the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery, Grand Forks, ND. Amundson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Cinder Stands Over Bull
PRYOR - Robert Cinder Stands Over Bull, 17, of Pryor died Saturday evening, Jan. 8, 2000 of injuries sustained in a pickup rollover accident near Pryor.
Bahsa'h KaaaKuush "Chosen Leader" was born Dec. 17, 1982, in Billings a son of Patrick and Beth Nomee Stands Over Bull Jr. He grew up in the Pryor area, attended the Pryor elementary school and was currently a junior at Plenty Coups High School. In school, Robert actively participated on the football team as a linebacker for three years and the basketball team as a guard for two years. He was known for his three point shooting abilities. He loved to camp, ride horses and hunt.
Robert was a out going person, who was a member of the Plenty Coups Indian Club, Native American Church, Pryor Youth Sports Program, Big Lodge Clan and a child of the Big Lodge Clan. He was taught traditional values by his family and those teachings became a strong influence upon his life.
Survivors include his parents, Patrick and Beth Stands Over Bull of Pryor; his brothers, Isaiah, Solomon and Patrick Stands Over Bull III of the family home and Chad Bad Bear of Crow Agency; his sisters, Holly of the family home, Carrie of Wyoming and Patty of Crow Agency; four adopted brothers, Roy Caufield, Patrick Kindness, Albert (Mary) Gros Ventre and Royce Red Star; his special friend, Cleva Brush of Pryor; his paternal grandparents, Patrick and Sharon Stands Over Bull and Theda Smart Enemy; his maternal grandparents, Alex and Mary Helen Medicine Horse, Paul and Bertha Nomee Jr.; his grea-grandmothers, Dora Rides Horse and Elizabeth Smart Enemy; his great-great-grandmother, Evelyn Old Elk; his adopted grandparents, Myra Gros Ventre, Daniel and Letha Sifford; his Crow relation grandfathers, Lawrence (Wilma) Stands Over Bull, George (Johnann) Reed Jr., Chester (Sharolyn) Nomee Sr., Robert (Marcia) Nomee, Llewellyn (Colleen) Nomee, Carlton (Clara) Nomee Sr., Bill Gros Ventre, Ivan Don't Mix Sr., Russell (Sheila) Wallace, Bruce (Elizabeth) White and James (Annabell) White; his Crow relation grandmothers, Clara Big Lake, Patsy Stands Over Bull, Barbara (Chris) Comes Up, Mary Lou (Heywood) Big Day Sr., Rosie Stands Over Bull, Anna (Vincent ) Goes Ahead, Linda (Lany) Little Owl, Rita Don't Mix, Emma Bad Horse, Marjorie (Sammy) Hoops, Ramona Backbone, Josie (Ben) Stands Over Bull, Daisy (Henry) Bright Wings, Jr., Veronica (Brewster) Pretty On Top, and Ardith (Lloyd) Hogan Sr.; his Crow relation aunts, J'Shon Iron, Majel Russell, Sharon Rides Horse, Sara Kindness, Tammy (Chris) Dillon, Beryl (Adrian) Stand Over Bull, Rita (Art) Marshall, Kathy Don't Mix, Mary Walks Along, Sandy (Christopher) Plenty Hawk, Bobbi (Greg) Old Bull, Laura Real Bird, Elizabeth (Earl) Old Chief, Lottie (Curtis) Medicine Horse, Mary Springfield, Rachel (Elsworth) Goes Ahead and Martha (Richard) King; his Crow relation uncles, Fred (Cerise) Smart Enemy Jr., Jonathan (Lana) Stands Over Bull, Russell (Donna) Stands Over Bull, Paul (Jordiss) Nomee III, Mark (Agnes) Nomee, Les (Garilyn) Nomee, Dee (Loretta) Nomee, Sheldon Nomee, Gerard Nomee, Joe (Rena) Pickett, Robert (Shirley) Pickett, C.J. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Pryor Plenty Coups High School gymnasium. Interment will follow in the Smart Enemy Family cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Elmer R. (Bud) Leach
MILES CITY - Elmer R. (Bud) Leach, 64, died on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at the Veterans Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Veterans Section in the Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge.

Mary Boyak
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Mary Boyak, 90, died on Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan.
Visitation will held 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Kane Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice in care of Kay Roush, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Ervin Schlosser
BOWMAN, N.D. - Ervin Schlosser, 71 of Bowman, N.D., died early Sunday morning, Jan. 9, 2000, at the Glendive Medical Center, Glendive, Mont.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at St. Charles Catholic Church, Bowman, N.D.. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2000, at St. Charles Church. Kresbach Funeral Service of Bowman is in charge of the arrangements.

Lyle 'Skinny' Patton
HAMPTON, Iowa - Lyle "Skinny" Patton, 92, died Jan. 9, 2000, at Franklin General Hospital of natural causes.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hampton. Visitation will held at 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth 'Betty' Heidema
Elizabeth "Betty" Heidema, 73, of Billings passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at the Western Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Billings, the daughter of Louis and Nellie (DeLeeuw) Heidema. She was raised east of Billings and attended rural schools and Shepherd school.
Betty worked as a photo finisher all of her life in Billings and from 1955 to 1989 in Chicago, Ill. She returned to Billings in 1989.
Betty was very devoted to the New Apostolic Church, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. She also enjoyed word puzzles.
Survivors include a sister, M. Swanie Dollmeyer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a close friend Vilma Kraft of Billings, and 29 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Ed, Pete, George, Jack, Louis, Jr., and Henry Heidema, and three sisters, Ida Fisher, Jo Heidema, Nellie Heidema.
Viewing will be Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, 7-9 p.m. at Smith Downtown Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at the New Apostolic Church, 500 15th Street West, Billings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Apostolic Church, c/o Ken Szillat, 560 Indian Trail, Billings, MT 59105.

L.W. 'Duke' Wellington
SISTERS, Ore. - L.W. "Duke" Wellington, formerly of Red Lodge, Mont., died Jan. 9 in Sisters, Ore., after an extended illness.
Born in Caribou, Maine, to L.W. and Winifred Wellington, he graduated from Caribou High School. He served in World War II with the 10th Mountain Division Ski Troops in Italy where he received a field commission and was decorated for bravery. He attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was recalled to active service during the Korean conflict.
After the Korean conflict, he continued military service as a full time plans and training officer for the Colorado National Guard.
In later years, he became inventory controller for American Metals in Climax, Colo., participated in resort development in Colorado, and established a yacht brokerage business in Florida.
He was active in church and community affairs, serving in various areas as mayor, city councilman, port commissioner and a sailing instructor with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of Rotary International, the Inquiry Club, Red Lodge Alpine Brass Band and sang in the church choir. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sailing and was an accomplished skier. He was active with junior and senior racing programs and taught skiing in Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Bend, Ore.; six children, Kim Wellington of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lynn and her husband Tom Ostberg of Boston, Mass., Christine and her husband Jerry Barnes of Bend, Ore., Brad and his wife Jody Hurd of Helena, Mont., Jeffrey Hurd of the Virgin Islands, Michael and his wife Sheila Hurd of Missoula, Mont.; his brother and wife Richard and Bernie Wellington of Cedaredge, Colo.; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Dan Dahl, Birmingham, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, Melissa Barnes Dholakia, Michael Barnes, Jeff Robertson, Kristin Bressman, Anna, Sarah, Erik, Caitlin, Julie, Joseph, Daniel and Elizabeth Hurd; two great grandchildren, and nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 22, at St. Agnes Church in Red Lodge. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to 10th Mountain Division Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Fund.

Richard Doran
FORSYTH - At the age of 85, Richard Doran, formerly of Red Lodge, died at the Rosebud Community Health Care Center in Forsyth. Mr. Doran died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000. He was born on Oct. 4, 1914, in Red Lodge, the son of George and Mary (Barrett) Doran. Richard graduated from Red Lodge High School.
On Oct. 5, 1949, Richard was united in marriage to Madge Woodruff in Red Lodge. Together they raised seven children. Madge died in 1981.
He joined the U.S. Army, which was his career, working as an X-ray technician, retiring to Roberts, Mont., on March 31, 1971. They lived in Roberts until he moved to Forsyth in 1985 to be cared for by his loving daughter, Madge.
Richard's life revolved around his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Madge and her husband, Robert Payovich and their children, Darci, Paula and Jarrad of Forsyth; Marilyn Packard and her children, Frank and Eric of Billings; Mary Doran of Corpus Christi, Texas; three stepsons, Allen Caraveau of Powell, Wyo.; Andy Caraveau and his wife, Rose of Bakersfield, Calif.; Archie Caraveau and his wife, Barbara of Forsyth; grandson, Richard Jakkola of Elko, Nev.; and granddaughter, Andrea Jakkola of Spokane, Wash. Other survivors include one sister, Jenny and her husband, John Russell of Roseburg, Ore.; 10 stepgrandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Madge, and his daughter, Margaret (Patty) Jakkola.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge. Interment will be in Red Lodge cemetery with a reception to follow interment at Dahl Funeral Chapel Hospitality Room.

Gary M. Albright
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Gary M. "Mitch" Albright, 36, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Hazelton, Pa.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, at Christian Life Church, 4401 Avalon Blvd., Milton, FL. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital, Pensacola, FL.

Katherine Bekel Ploetz
Katherine Bekel Ploetz was born Aug. 23, 1909, in Northern Russia, the daughter of Jacob Bekel Sr. and Katherine Walter Bekel. Along with her parents and two brothers, Jake and Adam, they came to America in 1913. They lived in Minnesota before moving to Montana and settling in Billings, where Katherine attended schools. She later lived in Phoenix and Denver before moving back to Montana to become a nurse.
In 1953, Katherine married Pastor Raymond Ploetz. They lived in Wisconsin, where Ray was a pastor before moving to Billings where they made their home. He served as a Chaplain at St. John's Lutheran Home and Katherine helped doing a lot of volunteer work for the church and St. John's. Ray passed away in 1974. In 1991, Katherine moved into St. John's Lutheran Home, where she passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2000.
Survivors include her two sisters, Helen Simon of Billings and Mildred Chironna of Terre Haute, Ind.; her niece and caregiver, Donna Kristiansen; her nephews, Roger Bell and Jim Bekel; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin 5 p.m. Tuesday at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at Peace Lutheran Church with interment in Mountview cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Peace Lutheran Church, St. John's Lutheran Home, or the charity of one's choice.

Harvey Jerome Adams
POWELL, Wyo. - Harvey Jerome Adams, 87, a resident of Powell, Wyo., died at the Powell Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000.
Harvey was born on Oct. 6, 1912, to John and Effie (White) Adams in Pierre, N.D. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Navy as a chief carpenters mate. In 1939, he married Dora June Combes in Newcastle, Wyo. Following their wedding, they moved to California. In 1948, they heard about homesteading in Powell and moved to the Heart Mountain area to raise their family and create a loving lifestyle. Harvey was a member of the VFW, Elks and was a past deacon at Union Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Harvey Adams Jr. And wife, Sharon of Canby, Ore; daughters, Ellen Mizell and husband, Tom of Powell and Pam Cobb of Powell; brother, Al Adams and wife, Evelyn of California; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dora in 1997, two sisters, one brother and one great-granddaughter.
Viewing will be from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home and also from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, at Oregon Trail Veterans cemetery in Casper, Wyo.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions might me made to the Powell Senior Citizens Center or the Powell VFW. Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sister Catherine Hartman (Sister Mary Edward)
LEAVENWORTH, Kan. - Sister Catherine Hartman (Sister Mary Edward) 85, a Sister of Charity of Leavenworth, and formerly a teacher and sacristan, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Ross Hall, Mother House, Leavenworth, Kan. Sister Catherine Hartman taught at Kate Fratt Memorial School in Billings 1940-45.
A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, in Ross Chapel of the Sisters of Charity Mother House in Levenworth. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000 in Ross Chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet cemetery on the Mother House grounds. Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Chapels are in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Retirement Fund, 4200 S. Fourth Street, Leavenworth, Kan. 66048-5054.

Joseph Nelson Wheeler, Sr.
BASIN, Wyo. - Life Time resident Joseph Nelson Wheeler, Sr. 82, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis, Wyo.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at the United Methodist Church in Basin, Wyo. A memorial fund has been established at the Security State Bank in Basin, Wyo. Atwood Family Funeral Directors, Inc. are in charge of the arrangements.

Gary M. "Mitch" Albright
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Gary M. "Mitch" Albright, 36, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2000 in Hazelton, Pa.
Services are pending. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital, Pensacola, Fla.

Rose (Strasheim) Hein
Rose (Strasheim) Hein, 84, passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital, Billings, Mont. following a two-year struggle with cancer. She was born Feb. 28, 1915, in Berthoud, Colo., the daughter of Conrad, Sr., and Katherina (Hofferber) Strasheim.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Hein, (who died in Sidney, in 1975), her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include four sons; Jerry (wife Kathryn Volk Hein), Rodney (wife Kay Coulter Hein), and Dennis Hein of Billings; Clarence (wife Jane Petersen Hein) of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister Leah Strasheim Kling of Moses Lake, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Conrad Strasheim Sr. family moved from Fort Morgan, Colo. to Sidney, Mont. in 1931, where Rose met and married Oscar Hein in 1935. Rose and Oscar were engaged in farming and the farm equipment business in the Sidney area. In 1977, Rose moved to Billings and made her home there until her death. Rose spent many quiet and productive hours hooking rugs and making beautiful quilts, baking as many as 100 apple pies in a good apple season, and producing the best baked bread and chicken/dumplings ever made, as attested to by both family and friends. Her family was most important to Rose.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000 from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. at Smith West Chapel in Billings. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Sidney, Mont. Interment will be in the Sidney cemetery. Memorials may be made the Special K Ranch, 404 N. 31st, Billings, MT 59101.
Rose will be remembered lovingly and fondly by both her family and friends.
