Donald M. Herriott
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Donald M. Herriott passed away Feb. 29, 2000, at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, Calif. Don was born on Aug. 16, 1931, at Park City, Mont., to R.J. and Lorina Herriott. He was the youngest of four boys. He attended high school at Laurel and graduated from Billings High in 1949. In 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and, having received an appointment from the fleet, graduated from Naval Flight Training at Pensacola, Fla., in 1954. He flew from carriers in the Pacific. Don retired from the U.S. Navy in 1970 with the rank of lieutenant commander.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Kay Garner, also formerly of Billings. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jack and Sally Smith of San Diego; a son, Rob of Oceanside, Calif.; one grandchild, Melissa of Oceanside, Calif.; one brother, Ralph L. of Billings, and two nieces, Lynn Roof of Billings and Tammy Beeman of San Clemente, Calif. Cremation has taken place.

Helmut Kron
MILES CITY - Helmut Kron, 62, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, in Bottineau, N.D.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with burial in the family lot of Custer County cemetery.

Walter 'Speed' Garrett
TERRY - Walter "Speed" Garrett, 77, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at his home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Private family interment will be held at a later date.

Kenneth 'K.C.' Greslin
BROADUS - Kenneth Charles "K.C." Greslin, 34, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at his Broadus home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Powder River Congregational Church with burial in the family lot of Valley View cemetery.

Georgia Staton
Georgia Staton, 83, of Billings, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. Private inurnment will be at Mountview cemetery. Cremation or Funeral Gallery was in charge.

Jerry Edwards
SHELL, Wyo. - Jerry Edwards, 54, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Washakie Medical Center in Worland.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Atwood Family Chapel in Greybull. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Shell Community Church with burial in the Whaley cemetery in rural Shell. Memorial fund has been set up for the Edwards children at First Interstate Bank, 601 Greybull Ave., Greybull, WY 82426.

Ivy Stella Babione
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Ivy Stella Babione, 86, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Sheridan Manor.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kane Funeral Home with burial in the Elks cemetery.

Ada Tarling Carmichael
ROUNDUP - Ada Tarling Carmichael, 87, passed away on March 4, 2000, at Roundup Memorial Nursing Home.
She was born March 10, 1912, in Klein, Mont., the daughter of Osa and Alfred Tarling. She graduated from Roundup High School in 1930. After obtaining her teaching certificate, she taught at a rural school in Musselshell County.
Ada and Ival Carmichael were married Sept. 11, 1936. They farmed and ranched in the Bull Mountains for several years before moving to the Lewistown area. They retired and moved to Arizona in 1973.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at the Wier Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Mountview cemetery in Billings at 2 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Roundup Memorial Hospital or the charity of one's choice.
Wier Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Donna R. Buxbaum
SIDNEY - Funeral services for Donna Buxbaum, age 45 of Sidney, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at the Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney, Pastor Perry Blanchard will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sidney cemetery under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.
Donna Ree was born on Feb. 3, 1955, in Sidney, to parents, David and Margaret Patricia "Pat" McMullen. Donna grew up and attended rural schools in Brorson School. Went to high school in Sidney, graduated with the class of 1973. During high school she was active in 4-H. She attended UND in Williston, before transferring to Montana State, in Bozeman, where she received her degree in Home Economics. She started her teaching career in Flaxville, Mont. On July 25, 1981, Donna was united in marriage to Greg Buxbaum in Sidney. Donna attended summer school and received her library degree. In 1982, she taught school at Savage High School, until 1996, when she was forced to retire due to ill health.
Donna enjoyed her church, sewing, reading, rubber stamping and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Also, enjoyed taking her children to gymnastics and wrestling.
Donna died Saturday morning, March 4, 2000, at her home in Sidney following a long straggle with cancer.
Donna is survived by her husband, Greg, of Sidney; sons, Patrick and Jace, of the family home, Sidney; daughters, Laurel and BreAnne, of the family home, Sidney; father, David McMullen and wife, Sharon, of Sidney; brothers, Jerry McMullen and wife, Leslie, and Kyle McMullen and wife Karen, of Sidney; and a sister, Terri Zadow and husband Greg, of Sidney.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Pat, infant brother and sister.

Al C. Ketterling
CASPER, Wyo. - At his request, there will be no services for Al C. Ketterling, 48, of Casper. Mr. Ketterling died March 5, 2000, at his residence after a long, courageous fight with ALS - Lou Gehrig's disease. Cremation has taken place.
Al C. Ketterling was born April 10, 1951, in Billings, Mont., to Clarence and Shirley (Vandegenachte) Ketterling. He graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1969, and from Eastern Montana College in 1974. He spent 17 years in Law Enforcement as a deputy and K-9 handler with the Yellowstone County Sheriffs Department in Billings.
In 1997, he went to work for Halliburton Enemy Services in Casper. He drove trucks out of the Rocky Mountain Division Warehouse. He was forced to retire due to his illness. He loved his job and his co-workers, and he often expressed how grateful he was to have worked at such a wonderful job with such wonderful people.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, working in his woodshop, and his many friends. He attended Casper Alliance Church and appreciated the fellowship. He also had many friends at St. Stephans Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Melody Ketterling of Casper, Wyo., ; his father, Clarence Ketterling and his wife, Eloras; his step-father Lawrence Marx, all of Billings, Mont., a brother, Mike Ketterling and his wife, Nomie of Eaton, Colo. He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Al C. Ketterling Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory will be in charge of the arrangements.

Howard Harmon
CRANE - Howard Harmon, 84, passed away March 5, 2000, at the Sidney Health Center in Sidney.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 10, at the Peoples Congregational Church, with Pastor Perry Blanchard officiating. Interment will be in the Newlon cemetery, in Sidney, under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.

Robert A. 'Bob' De Shaw
SIDNEY - Robert A. (Bob) De Shaw passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2000. He was born June 6, 1924, in Taconite Minn. to Orville and Esther De Shaw. He attended schools in Sidney before enlisting in the 48th U.S. Navy Seabees on Oct. 30, 1942. He served in the South Pacific until Dec. of 1945. On Bob's return from military duty, he, his father and his brothers started De Shaw Electric and he worked there as a Master Electrician for many years. In 1946 he married Mary Frison.
His hobbies were fishing, hunting and rock collecting. Bob was a Life member of VFW Post 4099, and a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #856, both in Sidney.
Survivors include sons, Donald (Marla) of Harlowton, Keith (Patty) of Roberts, sister, Rosalie Wick of Sidney, brother, Bill De Shaw (Clara) of Bozeman, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his son Gregory of Missoula, his parents and his brothers, Edward, Dan and Larry. Cremation taken place and a memorial service will be held in Sidney in early July.

Edwin Fellman
WALNUT CREEK, Calf. - Edwin Fellman, 88, formerly of Billings, passed away Friday, March 1, 2000.
Private services will be held by the family. Connolly and Taylor Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA, 95817; or First Presbyterian Church, Jordan, Montana, 59337.

Ruth V. Fletcher
POWELL, Wyo. - Ruth V. Fletcher, 84, passed away at her home in Powell on Friday, March 3, 2000. She was born to Grace Horsley Voss and Albert H. Voss on Sept. 16, 1915, at her grandfather Voss' farm near Manderson, Wyo.
She graduated from Greybull High School in 1933 and attended the University of Wyoming for two years obtaining a teaching certificate. After leaving the university, she taught in a one-room school on Beaver Creek near Shell, Wyo., for two years and in a one-room school in Washakie County for one year. She married L.M. Fletcher in May 1936. During World War Two, she worked at the Big Horn County Court House.
After World War II, she and Mr. Fletcher returned to the University of Wyoming where they both received degrees in business in 1948. Mr. Fletcher's employment with Amoco Oil Company took them to Little Buffalo Basin, Wyo., Rangley, Colo., Tulsa, Okla., Casper, Wyo., Tehran, Iran, Buenos Aires, Argentina, New York City and Chicago. After his retirement in 1975, they built a home in Powell. Mr. Fletcher died in 1990.
She is survived by her sister, Faie V. Gould of Powell; her niece, Grace G. Brandt of Salt Lake City; and George A. Gould of Sacramento, Calif. Also surviving are three greet-nieces, a great nephew, one great-great niece, a great-great nephew and several cousins.
At her request, no services are planned. Burial will be in Mt. View cemetery In Basin.

Lloyd B. Ellingsen
Lloyd B. Ellingsen, 79, passed away Sunday, March 5th, at St. Vincent's Hospital of pneumonia and several years of cancer. He died in the company of his loving wife, daughters, and granddaughters.
He was born in Duluth, Minn. on Nov. 8th, 1920, a son to Laura and Ben Ellingsen. He attended the public schools of Duluth and after graduation from high school, he joined the CCC and helped build roads and fire trails in northern Minnesota. He also worked many summers in Yellowstone National Park. Prior to his entry into the army in World War II, he worked in the Shipyard in Richmond, Calf., as a welder. During the war he served with the 30th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operation. The Cannon Company he was a member of was involved in five major battles in its progress across Europe from Omaha Beach to Magdeburg, Germany. He was awarded a Bronze Star in the Battle of the Bulge. He also received the Combat Infantry Badge and five campaign stars.
After the war, he graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and went on to complete graduate studies at the University of Colorado. He married Valley V. Heisler in the Church of the Transfiguration in the shadows of the Teton Mountains. He served in the public schools of Jackson, Wyo.; Boulder, Colo.; San Leandro, Calif., and Billings, Mont. In Billings, he served as an elementary principal, and later as the Elementary Curriculum Consultant. He always felt it was a privilege and a great responsibility to work with the youth in a community. In retirement he and his wife enjoyed the Flathead Valley for 20 years. In 1998 they moved back to Billings.
Lloyd's delight was his family who cherished his wisdom, leadership, courage, sense of humor and poet's heart.
His hobbies included hiking, skiing, canoeing on Ashley Lake, reading, amateur radio, and working on his computer. He stayed interested in politics and current events until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Valley, daughters, Kris and Peg; granddaughters, Kristin, Kim and Bethany; two wonderful sons-in-law, and a brother Lee, in Duluth. He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers. Lloyd will always be remembered in the hearts of his loved ones and friends.
A private memorial service was held Monday, March 6th at Smith's West Chapel in Billings.

Donna R. Buxbaum
SIDNEY - Donna R. Buxbaum, 45, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at her home in Sidney, following a long struggle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney. Burial will be in the Sidney cemetery under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.

IRVIN L. MULLER
RED LODGE - Irvin L. Muller, 90, of Billing, formerly of Red Lodge, passed away early Sunday, March 5, 2000, in Billings. He was born on April 30, 1909 in Decker, Mont., a son of Leo and Trula (Thompson) Muller. The family moved to Red Lodge in 1920, settling on their ranch west of town. Irvin attended the Hogan School.
On Feb. 10, 1932, Irvin married Margie Crawford in Red Lodge. They spent the next 53 years on the family ranch where they raised their two children, Irma Jean and Manny. They retired to Red Lodge in 1985, and moved to Billings about four years ago.
Irvin was a member of the Beartooth Elks Lodge and he attended the Community Church of Red Lodge. He enjoyed dancing, hunting and fishing. In later years when his health began to fail, he enjoyed watching rodeos and Lawrence Welk on TV. Irvin's children and grandchildren were always an important part of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Margie Muller of Billings; daughter Irma Jean (Paul) Swenson of Laurel; son Manny (Liane) Muller of Billings; sister Lela (Bill) Anderson of Mission Viejo, Calf.; brother Earl (Dora) Muller of St. Petersburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by some special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the Olcott Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge. Interment will be in the Red Lodge cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Beartooth Elks Scholarship Fund, or to the charity of one's choice.
